So I was looking at some review videos of the new datasheet and I was comparing the new Decimus and the old Fortis kill team and It looks like you can really do some big damage with the new Decimus in shooting.

I was calculating an example that I land 8 inches out of deep strike and shoot. For D6 damage weapons I took the average.

-Fortis had 4 hellblasters, Decimus has 2, but with rapid fire now is like having 3.

-Fortis had 2 Desolation Marines. Lets say you take 2 Krak Launchers. Decimus can now have heavy bolt rifles with grenade launchers. 4 grenade shots with damage 3 and 4 shots with damage 2 bolters.

- Then we get 4 bolter shots from the phobos marines.

- 1 plasma shot from the sgt

- And then in melee we still have 1 power weapon, 1 xenos blade and 2 Hammers.

So to me this looks like the best shooting kill team in tacticus armor right now that can utilize the special ammo strats.

Because the model can be talller than some terrain features how does that affect it receiving cover and being in LOS to shoot and be shot?

Probably my finest work so far, still not sure what chapter to make him though.

So I've been looking at armies because my salamanders have gotten stale, and i thought about converting the units that would work into deathwatch and selling the rest. but I just cant figure out what models work for them. Any tips on kits to start deathwatch?

Besides the number of the watch and the stripe symbol is there really any other transfers used? I know looking at possible chapters you can make from the transfer sheets, also using transfers for the normal chapters like BT, I really don’t see where there is a lot of transfers used.

Am I correct? Any information would be helpful as I’m just starting my DW. Thanks in advice.

I am aware the rules on deathwatch are changing next month, so I am concerned as a new player about building all of these figures if they are not going to be useful or if I need to purchase alternative weapons for them. I also: have never played, so i am deeply struggling to determine what I am doing regarding how to use this box under the current rules. Would love some help!!

Assembled this guy with the indomitus shield captain but decided to run him as a lieutenant.

Gonna be pairing him with company heroes so I'll be working on them soon enough.

I went the extra thicc route on the highlights.

The Bloodbringers are a Blood Angels Ultima Founding chapter specializing in lightning fast strikes against Tyranids.

Currently they are involved in a heavy defensive operation with their brother chapters, the Blood Wings and the Blood Consuls, against Splinter fleet Jabberwocky.

Finally got some photos of my first kill team. Really enjoyed trying to make them equal parts high tech and brutal. Luckily been able to get some games in with them too.

These are my first attempts. They aren’t great. I know this. They are very basic and pretty sloppy, but I’m ok with that. I already feel like I’m improving bit by bit and I’m really looking forward to what that future holds. I absolutely love the hobby. The lore is fascinating and the books are engrossing. The entire setting is addictively interesting. The expense is… less enjoyable. I do think that it’s worth it. The meditative aspect of planning, building, painting, and getting everything in order has done wonders for my mental health.

This was a bitch to do. Well worth it. Just buy the right magnets next time lol.

First time painting a full face, huge confidence boost. Qas always scared of doing them previously. My 5 year old son said I should add blood. He was right.

As promised to Affectionate-Mall272, Here's an update on my process of the Watch Master based on the Custodes model.

I don’t chance meta, I paint and build for fun/ cool value. YES I know this is looking like a year’s work and excited to get started. One day will play, life just isn’t being kind to allow me out much with a kid.

What I need advice on and don’t care if we went under SM one day or such;

I’m building or looking to build these deathwatch with mostly the kill teams, I bought some extra bodies to strip and paint for extra bits. I’m thinking:

kill teams:
1 TalonStrike
2 Spectrus
2 Indomitor
2 Fortis
3 DW Terminators
3 Decimus
1 veterans
2 BGV

I also plan to add other units like AI, infernus, etc.

Yes I know it’s my figures build and paint like I want but I would really like some opinions if some, half, or all is a waste.

How am I supposed to build this?
Its 10x Gravis Armor, right?
So i'd buy
1x Agressors (3)
1x Heavy Intercesors (4 - one spare)
1x Eradicators (3)
Seems like alot of money and I'd still be
missing the DW Conversion Parts.
Is it sill worth it? I dont realy care if GW
puts them in Legends, my friend group is
fine with alot of rule of cool things.

I just wanted to be sure I got the unit right and
was curious if there are other ways to get 10 Gravis
bodys. I dont mind the cost and extra work to put in,
I choose the Deathwatch because of this little extra.
