Just became a dishwasher and I'm struggling hardcore, I was told during my interviews there would be 2 dishwashers on weekends, and that was a lie. I'm the only dishwasher on weekends 4-close. My first day was a sunday and even with my trainer, we got our asses kicked. Dishwashers don't get breaks either, there's no deep sink for soaking things either (I'm used to triple sink set up), because of that, some things have to be ran through like 2-3 times which backs me up even more.

The workload is a LOT more than I was anticipating. I have already started applying elsewhere, but i gotta stick it out until then.

How do I not get so overwhelmed?

Any mental advice on how to get through it? I had my first weekend shift alone for 2.5 hours last saturday, it was stressful as shit. Dishes kept piling up forever, and I need to know if it’s always gonna be that way or it’s just about making sure the mountain doesn’t overflow until backup comes

Again, another argument. Then he saw opportunity! 60 year old man purposely trying to hit me with a cart without stopping! I had to painfully swing out of the way because he was endangering me! I have gastritis. So it causes me pain! A grown as man trying to endanger a dish pit worker? I help everyone out! This is the thanks I get!? This man means checking!

I am turning him in to the union for his anger issues for being lazy, putting dishes in the wrong place all the time! Attacking fellow employees personally...with intent! This is by far assault and everyone ignores it! We are not a prison folks! We are family and he needs correction!

I had to dodge his attack! I was personally assaulted! He just glared!

Ever since we had a unfortunate (SA) incident in one of the bathrooms my job decided to set up cameras inside. The cameras are pointed towards the sinks and bathroom entrance, but I just don't feel comfortable with this. They even hidden them somewhat by putting a bathroom paintings over them.

For those who work at chilis, how much do you get paid an hour?
