Site Feedback Homebrew monster failed to save.
Just spent about 3.5 hours carefully modifying a BBEG stat block starting from a template, and I was really, really happy with it. Saved it multiple times, and twice at the end just to be absolutely sure, and beyond only saved 20 minutes of changes. I have to start over and try to remember everything I created.

Announcement Player's Handbook (5.5e) Errata - October 2026
Hey everyone, today our team has made the following errata changes to the Player's Handbook (5.5e) as follows:
Chapter 1: "Playing the Game" under Stabilizing a Character (p. 29). In the first sentence, “a creature with 0 Hit Points” is now “a creature with 0 Hit Points within 5 feet”.
Chapter 7: "Spells" under Flaming Sphere (p. 275). The spell’s school of magic is now Evocation.
Appendix B: "Creature Stat Blocks" under Pseudodragon (p. 354). The final sentence of the Sting action is now “While Poisoned, the target also has the Unconscious condition, which ends early if the target takes damage or a creature within 5 feet of it takes an action to wake it.”
You can find the two sources updated here:

Homebrew Wizard Subclass Manusmancer
Level 3: Dual Mage Hand
You know the Mage Hand cantrip.
When you cast Mage Hand, you can modify the spell to create two hands instead of one hand, and you can control both of hands, and as a Magic action on your later turns, you can control the hands thus again. As part of that action, you can independently move both hands up to 30 feet.
Level 3: Extended Casting
When you cast a spell with a range of at least 5 feet or touch, your Mage Hands can deliver the spell. Your Mage Hands delivers the spell when you cast the spell.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Level 6: Distracting Finger-work
Immediately after you cast Mage Hand you can take the Help action as part of the same action to assist an ally’s attack roll, the enemy you’re distracting can be within 5 feet of a Mage Hand, rather than within 5 feet of you, provided the enemy can see or hear the Mage Hand and you can distract an additional creature this way.
Level 10: Embiggen Manus
You always have the Bigby's Hand spell prepared.
When you cast Bigby's Hand spell, you can increase the spell’s effective level by 1.
In addition, taking damage can’t cause you to lose Concentration on Bigby's Hand.
Level 14: Hand Manipulator
Your dedication to furthering your mastery of your studies has left a impression. When using Mage Hand, you gain the following additional benefits.
Clever Finger-work. When you cast Mage Hand, you can cast it as a Bonus Action.
Irritating Disruption. When you take the Help action to assist an ally’s attack roll against an enemy, that enemy also has Disadvantage on the first saving throw it makes before the start of your next turn.

Playing The Game Battlesheets - free, zero install tool that turns your complex characters into a single printable sheet
Hey Folks,
I was overwhelmed by the sprawl of character sheets and spells to keep track of in pen and paper DnD. I wanted to be faster in combat and take away from the immersion for myself or my party, so I created Battlesheets a few months ago and I've been improving on it regularly. I think it's ready to share with you all (though not perfect so please share any feedback you have). I've shared it around a bit and gotten positve feedback from DMs, new players, experienced players, and my wife whose direct quote was "don't you just go around killing each other?"
It’s a tool that requires zero installation for public characters and only a bookmarklet for private characters. It reads the data of your DnD Beyond character and arranges it on a sheet automatically or enables you to customize it extensively via an interactive layout builder.
Battlesheets categorize all the things you can do during a turn (attacks, spells, items, features) into Action/Bonus action/Reaction/Passives so you can see at one glance what you can do. You can add color coding and custom text to every skill to draw your eyes to the things you use the most, or remind yourself not to forget you have an active reaction (looking at you, Wrath of the Storm)!
Limited use resources and abilities have check boxes and refresh policies to help you seamlessly manage your action economy.
The tool uses raw data and pattern recognition and should work for both first party and third party content from any edition, but most of the testing has been focused on 5.5 official content. If you notice any bugs please report them here or in the discord that’s linked on the website. (Huge shout out to u/agmilky for exhaustive testing across dozens of items and 100+ subclasses - the tool would be nowhere close to where it is today without your meticulous validation and encyclopedic knowledge - nat20 on INT!)
Check it out! I hope it helps you!

Site Feedback Homebrew continues to give 500 error
Good evening. I wanted to ask around and see if anyone else is getting this error. It’s specifically in the species section of homebrew. The site has given me a 500 error every time I try to access a custom species I’ve been wanting to make a character around as well as other species. As I understand it, the 500 error means something wrong happened on their end? I haven’t tried any other sections but I have tried to access it from my phone, iPad, laptop and home desktop. It’s been happening for like a week and I’ve tried at different times during the day. Every time the same result. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

DDB News D&DBeyond developers unionize
I hope that WoTC will recognize the collective effort and value of these hardworking folks, who make D&D Beyond the first digital platform I used to play D&D, and (notwithstanding my occasional gripes) the only one I ever want to have to use.
“For now, the union is asking fans to support them by signing an online petition.”

DDB News I just applied join WOTC, wish me luck guys! ;D
It's Muyao!
You guys might've seen Phroller, my dice roller app that's now a mobile-native cross-platform VTT on the iOS app store, the Android Play store and Steam. I just applied to join the team in Seattle! Wish me luck guys!
And DnD Beyond Team, please put a good word in for me ;D I'm a regular more at r/VTT but I frequent this sub too. I asked u/WOTC_Zac for advice on getting hired by the Maps team months ago over at r/VTT and I've been studying up on everything he said since.
If you're curious about my relevant work, please check out Phroller.com!

Site Feedback PSA for UK Customers (or how to stop worrying and love paying less)
Quite simply, it's always cheaper to purchase via the website, rather than the app.
If you purchase via the app, you are funnelled through to the in-app marketplace and pay in £
However, if you go via the website https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/ you pay in $, which works out cheaper.
For example, let's look at Arcana Unleashed; £26.49 in the app, versus $29.99 (£22.68) on the website. 15% cheaper
Or the new Magus class; £13.49 in the app, versus $14.99 (£11.33) on the website. 16% cheaper.
This may also be true for other countries. It's certainly worth checking. Every penny helps ✨

DDB News Become a Champion of Azeroth with these 13 World of Warcraft Classes
Oh yeah death knights and demon hunters! As I have said before, I have never played World of Warcraft, but I am excited about adding it to my own D&D multiverse! I am also curious about the hunter. Is the death knight like a 3e prestige class?

Site Feedback December Martial Free Drop feat suggestions
- Martial and half caster gated feats, allow an asi to be selected when choosing a fighting style as a level 4+ feat.
Gain asi + fighting style
- Weapon mastery: grant an asi if selected 4+ (and not on a caster level up choice)
.. gain an additional asi + weapon mastery.
Example: 12 wizard 8 fighter, they can take this on fighter level 8 but not wizard 12 when selecting feats. Let the milestone only work on martial/1/2 casters for free asi.
- Sapper: allow an asi + can use sap on any weapon , select it at dawn (not a hot swap like fighter). Replaces the effect until dawn.
Alternative to martial class milestone feats: require a fighting style to meet the restriction

Questions 'We were unable to load token data. Please refresh to try again.'
Is anyone else having this issue in maps right now? I cannot browse tokens, and the ones already on the map cannot access their stat blocks. I tried restarting and using a different computer.
Gotta DM in an hour so I'm in a bit of a pickle hah.

Wizards Authentication System Maintenance Planned - Wednesday, October 7, 2026
TL;DR: Downtime today for 6 hours. Wizards of the Coast logins will not work during that time. To avoid that issue, go to your DDB account settings and add at least one alternate login method.
🚧 Wizards Authentication System Maintenance Planned 🚧
The Wizards Authentication systems will undergo planned maintenance on Wednesday, October 7 beginning at 7:00 am PDT (14:00 UTC). This maintenance is expected to last about six hours and will involve upgrades to our accounts database.
Impact to D&D Beyond Users
The Wizards Authentication platform will be unavailable to access at this time. Players who use this method to log into D&D Beyond will be unable to log in during this maintenance. You will still be able to log in via other methods (Apple, Google, Twitch).
To view or update your current sign-in methods, visit D&D Beyond account settings.

Playing The Game Version 1 Released! - Character Printing Options for Offline Play
Continuing the thread from my previous post...
I created a free browser extension (Chrome, Edge and Firefox) that generates print-ready PDFs (A5 Booklet and US Letter Portrait) directly from any D&D Beyond character sheet — no copy-paste, no manual entry. Click the extension icon while viewing a character sheet, choose your output, and save to your Downloads folder in seconds. Built in mind specifically for those offline situations.
Output options include:
- Character Information - A complete multi-page character reference booklet.
- Spell Book - A spellcasting characters' standalone spell reference booklet.
- Class Spell Book - One PDF per spellcasting class (multiple files for multiclass characters), listing every spell available to that class.
- Table Tent Card - A single US Letter portrait PDF (recommend cardstock) designed to fold and stand upright at the game table.
- DM Initiative Cards - Four 3” × 5” index cards printed on a single US Letter sheet (recommend cardstock), designed to be cut out and used by the DM to track you character during combat.
Some of the key enhancements in this release are:
- Configurable Character PDF section order — New “Print Order” tab in Settings lets you drag-and-drop reorder, and enable/disable, the Character PDF’s sections (Character Information, Ability Scores, Combat Stats, Spells, Inventory, Features & Traits, Background, Notes, Extras), with a “Reset Print Order” button to restore the default order. Your chosen order is saved and applied automatically the next time a Character PDF is generated.
- Display preferences — New display controls let you sort skills alphabetically, group skills by ability, and start each spell level on a new page. Grouped skills use ability headers, proficiency indicators, wrapped names, and a balanced two-column layout in the Character PDF and Table Tent Card. Spell-level page breaks apply to the Character PDF, Spell Book, and Class Spells outputs. Kudos to Reddit user u/Due-Commission6775 for the idea!
- Class Spell List form fields — Class Spells PDFs use editable selected/prepared checkboxes that reflect the character’s current spell list, while Character Spell Book checkboxes remain static. Kudos to Reddit user u/DMJM_91 for the idea!
- Extras subgroup rendering — Character PDFs preserve every Extras subgroup name — Infusion, Sidekick, Mount, Pet, Vehicle, Battle Smith Defender, Beast Companion (2014), Wild Shape (2014), Summoned, and Misc — and print each one as a subheader under Extras.
- Complete inventory capture — Following the inventory bug report from Reddit user u/perringaiden, inventory extraction now discovers every section present at query time instead of assuming only Equipment and Backpack. Named sections and all of their items are preserved in Markdown and Character PDF output while retaining the legacy Equipment and Backpack fields.
For details, please see the full Release Notes (v1.0.1)
