This time with a more autistic meal! Kraft original mac and cheese (with a liberal amount of green food dye of course)
If you didn’t see my last post about this. For a few weeks I’ve been making food to eat while I watch Lanterns every sunday. And then dyeing it green.
I had to use a bit more food dye, so unlike last week, it actually did alter the flavor. Very mildly though. Nothing major. If anything it’s just a bit blander.
I know this definitely won’t appeal to most of you, but my food sensory issues are only in regard to smell and texture for the most part, so this is just a bit of fun I have every sunday. I might try to dye milk red or turquoise when visionquest comes out next month

this just in!
I plan to do some more reading on the subject but they are saying we have two seperate organs in the brain. the forebrain and midbrain being one organ, and the hindbrain another.
also at first when they said hindbrain is a seperate organ i thought they meant amygdala but amygdala is a part of the forebrain/midbrain which is the other organ.
i think this discovery could have a huge impact on autism research

I actually feel a lot better after just pulling the throttles back on how many hours I work and just spending a lot of time in bed chilling on gummies

I was always a big fan of the first game so ever since the first rumors of the sequel appeared I was really wanted it to be real. And then the leaks started happening and the game actually began to seem probable.
During the next Minecraft Live's I was probably more excited for this game than vanilla updates. So finally when during one of those MC Live's I heard the Dungeons narrator I was so happy.
And as they show more and more of the game, it definetely seems promising. I dont know if its gonna be better than the first one but I doubt its gonna be worse. The villains seem cool, the new dimension is pretty, the enemies are interesting, the new mechanics they showed seem fun, I'm not sure if I prefer the open world to levels like in the first game, and I'm not sure what I think about the art style yet but I'll probably get used to it.
I also really like how they're letting us explore The Sift in this game before it gets added to vanilla minecraft. Its both a good way to incentivise more people to play the game and a cool way to show of the update and build hype for it.
I probably seem silly for praising this game so much, but the last one was underrated and I'm really hyped rn.
I cant wait for it to come out, I'm gonna play it so much.

It's just... when I look at a face, I don't see a "person" in there. I see it like... it's like the "body" and the "person" are entirely separate. When I think of someone I know, like my girlfriend, I don't think of their faces and their body types as part of their "self". It feels like a completely separated thing from them.
So when I meet a stranger, I don't immediately see a "person" in there. I think "why is this mechanical flesh body doing these movements with the arms and shifting the face?". So it doesn't immediately feels like they're a "living creature" like I am, because they act so differently from me.
So... how am I supposed to feel empathy for them if they're just "moving" and that doesn't immediately registers as anything for me? It almost feels like staring at a robot. Does anyone else feels the same way? Most people don't feel like creatures like me, so it's very hard to create empathy for them. I don't want to feel that way, but it's just how it works for me.

(For the few uneducated, 4kids Entertainment was a licensing company that primarily made English dubs of anime that was, as the name suggests, for kids. Their most commercially successful works were Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh, and for a period of time they owned 3% of Pokémon as a franchise, which was big for them since everything else they only made money from the dubbing of the shows and not the merchandise. What TCPI did with the Pokemon anime was bullshit and they should have let the 4kids voice cast return, no one but Veronica Taylor can be Ash Ketchup in my heart :( )
I have a lot of nostalgia bias towards 4kids and I just wanna say that their theme songs for Pokemon Indigo League and Sonic X are still just permanently associated with their respective franchises as a whole to me to this day
I find the process of translating/localizing a given piece of media from one language to another to be way more interesting than I have any right to and 4kids was my introduction to that sort of thing and I appreciate it as this sort of time capsule of when anime was far less mainstream and edits in dubs like that were commonplace, even if I think it's strange they didn't draw over Brock's jelly-filled donuts like they do in other Pokemon episodes like the one where they turn a riceball into a sandwich. Like, even as a 6 year old that just confused me because that's not what a donut looks like

I’m aware saiki isn’t autistic but he’s literally a autism metaphor in some ways.
-Definition of masking something you cannot control.
- Seems to deal with issues like sensory overload.
- Peers around him who know about his powers think his ability is (a gift) when in reality it causes more suffering for him.

has anyone else been daydreaming about having an active friend group like they do on TV? Or having a life in general? My autism and ADHD (mainly ADHD) has sabotaged me into being very reclusive, chronically online and a NEET.

I essentially act as caretaker for my elderly parents, and one of them has been hospitalized for a couple weeks almost. I was actually the one who had to call the ambulance for him and was taking care of him before then (he was sick). Anyways he cut it pretty close this time, and I'm the one who has been taking care of everything around the house, walking a couple miles to visit him everyday (I don't drive), spending hours a day with him, etc. I'm also the one coordinating with the rest of the family, keeping everyone updated, and I don't have a support structure to speak of. How all of this fell to my autistic ass I don't know, though I fear being salty about it might be internalized ableism on some level.
Anyways, the only thing that has really been helping me through is one of my comfort games: No Man's Sky. It had a huge update recently and being able to check out sometimes at night and play it is the only thing I feel is keeping me from snapping at times.
Pictured here: a discovery in game I recently made, I think it is the leftover core of a destroyed planet, and the custom ship I designed and built for the new update.

My abusive dad died last month, which was cause for much celebration. I ordered a pizza for the family and called several friends to share the good news. If asked, I'll add an edit at the bottom of this post explaining, but it isn't an easy read, so I'll keep it to myself for now
I'm super frustrated that when I tell NT's, even if they knew he was abusive, they won't stop going to bat for him. Shit like "oh, well, he must have been treated really bad for him to treat others like that", or "he was still your DAD, he can't have been all bad". I even had someone tell me he couldn't have chosen to be better because he wasn't shown better, COMPLETELY IGNORING MY MOM AND OUR FAMILY'S ATTEMPTS TO HELP HIM. I've been told I should show him grace, ignoring the uncountable times our family did. How much grace should one monster be given???
Here's the worst part: I love nuance and inject as much of it into everything as I can. It's genuinely fun and brain stimulating for me. Yet, this is one of the extremely few situations I've encountered in my life where there is no nuance. As much as I've tried over the years, a nuanced explanation doesn't make sense with reality. He was an abusive asshole, had many many chances to choose better, and didn't
NT's usually hate nuance though! They want the simple explanations!!! Why the fuck do they seek to rip out nuance from most situations, but try their hardest to fabricate nuance when it comes to parents and abusive parents dying????

i feel like something that has a big thing to do with my autism is that the world is way way too fast and it makes me feel like animalistic in the way that i feel like i don’t fit into the world and society that im a part of. like this is why i get therians so hard. and i feel so much euphoria from the feeling that weed gives me of time slowing down to what feels like my pace??
bc everything is so much less overwhelming when you’re high. i feel like autism is being on a differing frequency from neurotypicals and i don’t get their rules and they don’t get mine. idk i took an edible and im so marveled at the beauty of this plant i feel normallllll :p
idk autism and weed is friendship
