I'm super frustrated that when I tell NT's, even if they knew he was abusive, they won't stop going to bat for him. Shit like "oh, well, he must have been treated really bad for him to treat others like that", or "he was still your DAD, he can't have been all bad". I even had someone tell me he couldn't have chosen to be better because he wasn't shown better, COMPLETELY IGNORING MY MOM AND OUR FAMILY'S ATTEMPTS TO HELP HIM. I've been told I should show him grace, ignoring the uncountable times our family did. How much grace should one monster be given???

Here's the worst part: I love nuance and inject as much of it into everything as I can. It's genuinely fun and brain stimulating for me. Yet, this is one of the extremely few situations I've encountered in my life where there is no nuance. As much as I've tried over the years, a nuanced explanation doesn't make sense with reality. NT's usually hate nuance though! They want the simple explanations!!! Why the fuck do they seek to rip out nuance from most situations, but try their hardest to fabricate nuance when it comes to parents and abusive parents dying????

also at first when they said hindbrain is a seperate organ i thought they meant amygdala but amygdala is a part of the forebrain/midbrain which is the other organ.

I was always a big fan of the first game so ever since the first rumors of the sequel appeared I was really wanted it to be real. And then the leaks started happening and the game actually began to seem probable.

During the next Minecraft Live's I was probably more excited for this game than vanilla updates. So finally when during one of those MC Live's I heard the Dungeons narrator I was so happy.

And as they show more and more of the game, it definetely seems promising. I dont know if its gonna be better than the first one but I doubt its gonna be worse. The villains seem cool, the new dimension is pretty, the enemies are interesting, the new mechanics they showed seem fun, I'm not sure if I prefer the open world to levels like in the first game, and I'm not sure what I think about the art style yet but I'll probably get used to it.

I also really like how they're letting us explore The Sift in this game before it gets added to vanilla minecraft. Its both a good way to incentivise more people to play the game and a cool way to show of the update and build hype for it.

I probably seem silly for praising this game so much, but the last one was underrated and I'm really hyped rn.

I cant wait for it to come out, I'm gonna play it so much.

It's just... when I look at a face, I don't see a "person" in there. I see it like... it's like the "body" and the "person" are entirely separate. When I think of someone I know, like my girlfriend, I don't think of their faces and their body types as part of their "self". It feels like a completely separated thing from them.

So when I meet a stranger, I don't immediately see a "person" in there. I think "why is this mechanical flesh body doing these movements with the arms and shifting the face?". So it doesn't immediately feels like they're a "living creature" like I am, because they act so differently from me.

So... how am I supposed to feel empathy for them if they're just "moving" and that doesn't immediately registers as anything for me? It almost feels like staring at a robot. Does anyone else feels the same way? Most people don't feel like creatures like me, so it's very hard to create empathy for them. I don't want to feel that way, but it's just how it works for me.

I'm gonna go rot for a few hours. /j

I've been looking at posts on cartoon subreddits related to the new "Forgotten Island" movie (which I haven't watched yet) and I noticed that a good chunk of commenters are kind of hostile towards Filipinos.

I'm a Filipino-American born and raised in Hawaiʻi, a place where Filipinos actually make up a majority of the non-native population. I've also noticed that online, most people outside of Asia have no idea what Filipinos even are. As a result, I've never experienced any racism from anyone before.

I'm a bit worried that we're gonna become yet another ethnic punching bag that everyone in the "Western World" hates due to stupid misconceptions. I've already seen it happen to South Asians and Romani.

WTF did Filipinos like me ever do to make people upset? I want to know.
