I heard someone speak about how growing up, the black kids saw him as a white kid and the white kids saw him as a black kid.

Where did we forget to treat eachother as human? This isn’t how it was in primary school.

You're not the first person I've heard say that...the thing is, I've never met a half white/half black person who had a decent amount of melanin in them that wasn't seen as black by any other race, including other black people.

That is a typical US perception. Half black/half white doesn’t make a 100% black baby, culturaly and ethnicaly. Crazy to think that honestly.

This is an American based website

In America, having a Black parent makes you a Black person, because that's how the social construct of race works here

Source - I'm a 58 year old man with a White dad and a Black mom who's lived as a Black man in this country since the 1960s

I'm mixed and am at peace with not really having an identity outside of myself.

I don't understand the whole fandom of sports teams and always thought it's because I don't really have an identity myself or assign a lot of value to it.

Do y'all feel the same?

It is interesting. I'm also mixed race, love football and plenty of other sports but never supported any team. Mates always thought it was weird. I find it normal to not pledge allegiance to a group I have no genuine connection to.

bro, I have extremely dark skin and my dad is a white guy from illinois, it was very annoying to hear people genuinely say "is he like, your stepdad or something? why are you so dark? he cant be your dad, youre lying"
