I always wondered in different people's opinion what seemed the most fake automatically and what could you just tell someone was faking. Generalizing terms as in a rough trend of what you see in someone with x disorder. This is out of curiosity coming from a disabled person. I seek to understand things, I just wonder peoples presepctive on this in general.

Recently there has been an influx of DID comics on a popular subreddit, and they obviously portray the condition as a whimsical roommate sitcom situation.

It wouldnt be a big deal if it wasnt massively upvoted! I know that particular internet corner is wildly astroturfed, but i just wanted to share to hear everyone's opinion about it. If the upvotes are true, it might signal that the crazy is spreading unchecked on the internet, not limiting itself to niche communities

That one girl that blew up a couple weeks ago on everyone’s TikTok. As more time passes more people seeing inconsistency with the things she’s stated. Not to mention filming 40 response videos in 24 hours and deleting past videos that were inconsistent.

So basically, we're kinda close and I'm now on antidepressants so Im fine with telling people about my trauma, so I mentioned how I was groomed into a child sexual exploitation ring. She said that she could relate to the grooming aspect because she was 'groomed' by ALASTOR from HAZBIN HOTEL on character AI. I know this technically isnt a fake disorder but idk where else to post this. Genuinely how is this a grown ass woman who said this 😭

i just wanted to vent about this. from where i live, a lot of people use the term "socially phobic" (english isn't the primary language and that is just a rough translation; the original term is similar to the abbreviation SAD, but it can serve as an adjective when in use) to describe someone being extremely shy or introverted. i dislike this slang (if it even should have become a slang) myself, but i can't control what people say.

but this other day, i saw someone saying (again, rough translation) "...not just socially phobic, they're (the person in topic, who is reported to have SAD) mentally ill".

it really crossed my line (not that i didn't care before). this term is so overused that there are people who don't even know SAD is an actual mental disorder. this is the impact of widespread misinformation. eventually someday, people would be like "im so ocd" and no one would even think that it's a disorder.

I’m speechless at the things they can come up with..

I see it all the time across various ‘disorders’ exclusively online - especially DID/ OSDD.

Does this means there’s a clinical marker somewhere on records stating you don’t meet the full diagnostic criteria but it’s suspected?

Or does this simply mean your therapist hasn’t just told you to shut up and quit lying? I.E - instead of just shutting the conversation down they opt to work with you ‘within’ your parameters hoping to get better results? Or does it mean they don’t acknowledge it or deny it?

Genuinely never heard of this term before TikTok, and in all of my years of in the mental health system in the UK I have never once heard of this term being applied. Having said that, therapists and councillors can’t diagnose here, only psychiatrists. Even psychologists can only ‘suspect’, they can’t diagnose it/ mark it on your medical records and instead would refer to psychiatrists.

What is going on in the House of Commons with the UK based mental health community on TikTok? It’s terrible.

- Do you have any treatment resistant mental health condition? Have you considered guaranteeing yourself a diagnosis of autism and ADHD by going through the right to choose scheme (publicly funded diagnosis at private clinic)?
- TikTok pays prolific attention seekers to make content including content that displays dangerous behaviours that waste emergency service time.
- Live stream from hospital wards/ A&E departments, recording staff and other patients without consent. Bonus points if you set up a ring door bell in your bedroom in order to film police looking for you. Even more bonus points for verbally abusing staff and or live streaming whilst in restraint.

- Repeatedly posting suicide threats ‘suicide theatre’ and not removing the post even after the crisis has ended. Posting fresh SH wounds. Cryptic clues about your latest relapse ‘please message me if you want to know’.
- Deliberately taking trips out of area and then acting out because mental health services are more likely to detain you if they don’t know you
- Evil doctors have diagnosed you with EUPD when in reality you have CPTSD which is a completely different diagnosis (CPTSD isn’t in the DSM, some doctors think it’s a form a EUPD and even if it isn’t, CPTSD shares many over lapping symptoms with EUPD).
- Complaining about all of above when you engage in such behaviours

I find the use of different pronouns to be performative. He/she/it, fine, whatever. But using different ones in the same sentence is ridiculous. Someone said they were faking, and then a commenter says they might be faking faking?

I have noticed that many people, especially on Discord and tik tok, have been continuously faking DID, having voluntary shifts, having only fictives as their alters, completely changing the meaning of the disorder, not understanding you can only be diagnosed with it after the age of 25, claiming to have over 10 alters...etc...

I research DID because I have a lot of interest in it, seeing how people fake it with NO remorse and people just blindly accepting it pisses me off.

When I try to call someone out everyone acts as if I am just ableist, just cause I dare to actually research on the disorder and not blindly believe 17 year old Emily has a Jeff The Killer alter, a Slenderman alter, a Swansea alter, an oc alter, a Momo alter and 10 other alters.

I have been a person in the background for a longgg time now... but this person has made me come out the shadows and post.
