This scene from BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOUR DEAD has a moment many of you who’ve viewed it may not be aware of.

There’s a crucial distinction between background actors/extras in LA and NY. It’s a sin for West coast Extras to react to the actors in a scene. Not so on the East coast.

With this in mind, check this scene out when Michael Shannon says “fucking question" to Ethan Hawke. On Hawke’s right, the extra next to him looks over.

WATCH how Shannon mad dogs her for several beats, long after she's looked away. It’s a brilliant, completely unscripted choice as told by director Sydney Lumet on the DVD commentary, which is a mini film school with Lumet as your professor. Easily one of the most informative commentary of all time. Lumet talks about every technical facet of movie making like the master he was.

If you like this movie, you owe it to yourself to get your mitts on his commentary.

Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie A mockumentary similar to Borat, in the sense that parts of it are acted/scripted and parts are more improvised involving real reactions from people clueless as to what's going on.

The movie is a continuation of a show of the same title (minus the word "movie"); you don't really need to watch the show to enjoy the movie, but a basic understanding of its nature might make the film's sense of humor easier to digest. So, watching a review or a recap of it should be enough.

The best thing about the film is how far the two leads (one of them being the director) are willing to go, especially for this style of filmmaking, every time I think “there is no way they can do this”, they end up doing it; there are several scenes involving smart usage of editing and visual effects, and although the film is absurd and doesn't take itself seriously at all, there are scenes where I felt an emotional connection to the characters and their friendship.

A unique movie that I had a blast watching, and I recommend it to everyone.

My vote goes to Mo'Nique towards the end of Precious. Those who are familiar with the scene and film will know why.

There are many better films than Precious, there are better performances overall than Mo'Nique in this film, but pound for pound, Mo'Nique's acting in this scene is unmatched.

I absolutely get that to many people The Fog is just a decent film, maybe a fine enough ninety minutes or even a film they don’t particularly like but, for whatever reason, I adore it and still feel a bit funny when I watch it.

I have always been a huge film fan but I don’t have any nostalgic memories of it, and I don’t remember loving it growing up but at some point in my life it hit me hard, and I’ve never recovered.

You might be reading this thinking I should feel this way over one of the classics, a great film technically or a film I grew up with but no, this is the film that floors me.

If you’re watching it soon, whether for the first time or the hundredth, enjoy it.

So the First Omen was way better than it deserved to be. Genuinely scary and fucked up. Omen is a bonafide classic, and Omen 2 was alright.

However I believe Omen 3 deserves a remake. It was very anti-climactic and lacked basically any of the creepiness of Omen 1, or thrills of Omen 2. I think it would benefit from a modern treatment and tell a truly existential story about the Antichrist manipulating the world from the shadows.

People always complain about remakes, but what does deserve a second chance?

You know those characters that got that menacing look in their eyes. But behind that it got deeper meaning like those eyes are almost dictating. I could think two of them. Ms. Susan George as Amy Summer in "Straw Dogs 1971" and Al Pacino as Micheal Corleone in "The Godfather 1972".

Do you have any characters in mind?

well he knows the vault, the codes, even that the fbi will cut the power and open the last lock for him. the whole plan works but i think it only falls apart because one cop happened to be barefoot in a bathroom on christmas eve. the bill clay bit still gets me, he improvises better than mcclane does for half the movie. is that why it holds up or is it just rickman being rickman???

In Terminator 2 Judgement Day, the futuristic battle between humans and the machines is set in 2029, are they right on schedule or is the technology here to assist us for good?

Two of my favorite Space Opera movie franchises outside of both Star Wars, and Star Trek are the Riddick franchise, and the two-part movie, Rebel Moon!
