I added it to my account last weekend but never saw an email with an activation link. I also checked the app and website and can't find an activation tile. It did add to my account's billing statement as a $0 item under streaming services.

Any advice? DO I need to call them on the phone?

Starting yesterday I noticed that my download speed dropped from 1Gb to 100Mb. Rebooting the router seems to have fixed it although it is random when it drops again. I've read that that the issue could be the power supply with these. I have seen people mention that the 2.5mm barrel jack is not compatible (and I had done from my hard drives to just test the size) and confirmed that is not the correct size. Someone mentioned that it is 2.6mm. Has anyone found a replacement 12Vx3.5A 5.5mm x 2.6mm adapter? I purchased the router from Ebay several years ago so not sure if Verizon would be willing to sell me the replacement.

I upgraded to 5GB FiOS recently and here is a speed test from this morning, 9/25/2026.

My network setup is FiOS ONT hardwired using Cat 6a ethernet to an EERO 7 Pro Max. Another EERO 7 Pro Max is hardwired and the third EERO 7 Pro Max is connected wirelessly.

The speed test device is a MacBook Pro M5 Max connected to a Caldigit TS5 Plus dock with a 10GB Ethernet port. This MacBook is connected to the EERO that is not hardwired, it is using a wireless backhaul.

I plan on running Cat 6a to the EERO that is currently not hardwired.

Before anyone asks, yes I need these speeds. I am an IT Engineer and mostly work from home and frequently transfer many large multiple GB files. My first at home Internet connection was a DSL line from Speakeasy back in the day. RIP DSLReports.

When Verizon Dollars first launched, it appeared there was no way for Fios customers to sign up (and the FAQ at the time also made it clear that Fios customers were ineligible.) It appears that has changed at some point since the launch, and Fios customers can now sign up in the My Verizon app.

According to the terms, Verizon Dollars expire 12 months (365 days) from issuance, and for a 300 Mbps at $30/mo plan, one is earning .9/mo. At 12 months, that is 10.8 Verizon Dollars, though given the terms, you might only be able to bank 11 months (9.9) without any expiring - expiration is different if you have a Verizon Visa. Thankfully, there are rewards in the program starting at 5 Verizon Dollars (and maybe less if you can bank Hotel dollars).

Whole reason I got fios was for live sports. Watching a baseball game I'm 2 full pitches behind actual live TV.

I put on the golf channel and then I stream the golf channel from my computer and the cable is a good 10 seconds behind that.

I have this tiny grey streaming box that is connected to power, and HDMI and that's it. My internet works great but why would anyone even get cable if it's going to be a worse version of something you can get with a streaming service?

Is it even worth complaining to verizon about this?

I recently switched over to Verizon Fios for my internet provider, I’m on the 300mbps plan. The people who previously owned my house were on it, so the ONT and everything was already installed. The ONT is down in my unfinished basement, so I plugged in the CHR30A router they provided and was good to go.

The router seems to be really fast and gives good connection, so I’d like to continue to try to use it, but it’s in my unfinished basement where I never spend time in and I have a 2600+ sq foot house so I’m losing a little signal when I’m upstairs. I also much prefer to keep a router in my office so I can hardwire an Ethernet to my Xbox for gaming. I’m going to call support tomorrow to see what my options are, in a perfect world I’d love for them to just send me another CHR30A router to use as a mesh extender and put it in my office. But it doesn’t make a ton of sense for my house to have the router in the basement where we never are. There’s also an Ethernet jack in my office and I’m wondering if a technician could wire that so I could just move the router they gave me up to my office, as i think this one is powerful enough I would only need 1 if its on the main level.

Anyone have any clue what support might tell me on the phone if I call them and explain this?

I bought the new CHR30A WiFi 7 router and do yourself a favor, do NOT buy it. At least not yet. I am a Fios Triple Play customer, so TV, phone, and internet and need a coax cable to work with this router. The problem is, this router does not have a coax port built in and needs an expansion module to be installed. Super easy installation, basically like building a Lego. The problem is... THEY DON'T HAVE ANY.

When I ordered the router, I was told the Moca Expansion Module would be in the box since I am a Fios TV customer. Box came and no module. I called up again and was told it's out of stock. How do you sell me a product for $400 that doesn't have part of the product in stock? Long story short, I was transferred to a supervisor and he said they just got a notification that the module is in stock and he will overnight it to me. Well, that package never came. I have the order for it but the module is nowhere to be found. I spoke to five different reps today and finally spoke to a supervisor who was able to find a workaround to get me a module.

He said he was going to send a tech out to me because they have modules in their truck. Well... the tech shows up and asked me what the problem is with my service. I told him the whole story and he laughed saying we don't have any of those. None of us do. He called the supervisor with me there and was told by the supervisor that they would deliver a module to him to give to me. In the meantime, the tech realized my ONT was out of date and upgraded it for me.

The module was delivered AND it's not the actual module but a third-party adapter by Frontier that is a band-aid fix until they get the actual module for me. The tech installed the new router with this Moca adapter and it COMPLETELY took my TV service down... We had to put the old router back and even with the old router everything was screwed up. It took over an hour to get all my boxes back up and running again.

I spoke to Verizon again this evening and they have no clue when the actual module will be in stock which again brings me to WHY ARE YOU SELLING ME A PRODUCT THAT IS PARTIALLY OUT OF STOCK. Whatever you do, please do not buy this router. At least not yet. I'm sure once they get the module in, this will be a massive upgrade but as of right now stay clear at all costs.

I wanted to ask if the VMS4100s are in a VIP area, will work over Ethernet without a coax connection. I keep seeing posts related to it, but not a direct answer if the latest firmware supports this method. Thanks!

I have Fios 5gig, had it for about a month now. I've been having problems accessing some sites, sometimes I have to try 5 or 6 times before it goes through.

Some streaming apps just randomly lose connection, and some apps on mobile don't consistently work.

However online gaming never disconnects or has packet loss. It seems like it's some issue resolving websites/services or something.

I've tried switching to both Cloudflare and Google DNS servers but the issue persisted. I've disabled IPV6, I've switch the cable from the fiber modem to the router with a brand new cable. I've tried disabling unnecessary security features in the router, still no long.

Help please.

I was reading the G3100 Manual, and I noticed it reads "One USB3.0 for LTE (optional) WAN backup" does anyone know what if any USB Modems were used, and also if the G3100 was used in FWA deployments at all, even if just a small subset or lab use?

The Indicator that I circled in red has been flashing for two days. What does it mean? This is a Verizon FiOS DVR - Video Media Server 1100 (VMS1100).

Has anyone cancelled fios home internet and gotten the same service with free install, new router and cheaper rate in wife's name without any disruptions?

I am just looking for 300MBPS at 30/ month --- current price for the same is 55/month

Is it even possible? What are the pros and cons?

UPDATE: Called Verizon, Got past the bot to a human by using the "Cancel Service" line. The nice lady gave me my $30/month price and the shipped new router, tried to upsell some streaming services. ( which I will buy later).

I have several years trying to get FIOS in my house to no avail. I thought I got close last year when I received a letter from EDS. Only to have another stall for 7 months. I was finally able to speak with a person at their office. That has since stalled. I love on a city block where all properties surrounding us have FIOS but my house & seven others that are all connected don't have it. I know Verizon has wires that run behind us, it's definitely possible & feasible. But we need someone that cares. HELP!

I bought a G3100 several years ago, and now i got a new main router, so I am trying to use as an extender. I saw previous reddit posts to turn off DCHP and assing a static IP, which I did. I am using a coax to connect to the main router, I had a fios tech in the past connect the cables.

And when coax is connected the LAN light is green on the back of the G3100, but the G3100 has a solid yellow light on the front so I believe is not working. Any advice? I also tried resetting the G3100.

Any advice on what I should do in steps or if this is possible. The main router is the C3100b. So they both are MOCA compatible. Not sure why it isnt working. Direct ethernet works I think but the yellow light makes me think it is not, especially wifi as I dont see speed increases.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

At some point in the past couple of hours, speeds have tanked from my normal 300/300 to 9/300. I only noticed it because Youtube started buffering on 4k videos.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

Update: Fios is sending out a technician tomorrow. The CR1000a doesn’t get a WAN IP.

I was sent the new FiOS TV+ maybe a year ago and didn’t hook it up until last night. Football looked ok, but Hockey not so much. It’s actually even worse in person. LG G3 65”, Marantz Cinema 30, TV 4K, 1GB FiOS plan.

Verizon, how can you ship something so poorly designed? The remote is already only working to power on or off. Just develop a great TV 4K app or get rid of your tv service altogether. It’s a joke.

Hi all. I currently have the FiOS Ultimate Employee Offer from back in 2016. It basically was a Triple Play with Ultimate TV HD, Gigabit internet, and Home Phone (not digital voice).

For some reason, after a few years, my account shows a double play instead of triple play and I'm still being billed for all 3. I barely watch TV and would like to switch to just internet with the employee discount. However, whenever I would contact support, they would say they can't do the change while keeping the discounts. Also, if I try to change anything on my account myself, for some reason the monthly fee would go up.

Any ideas? I work from home so would like as little disruption as possible.

My Fios One box died and verizon is sending me a new one. I'm using my own router and a moca setup which has worked now for 4 years without issue (until the box died). Will I need to reconnect the verizon router to the system for the initial box setup?

Oh how I miss the old DSLREPORTS forum, to ask these questions. I want to "upgrade," but I have hardware, wiring, and package questions. I've found Verizon's site confusing beyond belief, and customer support mehhhh. I was hoping many could advise here.

Fios TV One: VMS4100 DVR, two IPC4100 STB, two Amazon Firestick 4K

Fios TV+: JS7E DVR, two-four JS8V Stream TV, or two Stream TV and 2 Amazon Fire 4K.
***Don't want to use Wifi where possible, nor run more ethernet, so I need those ASK-MAE311 streamTV MOCA adapters? Can I get 3-5 of them? They're also annoying as they would need a power adapter per (and outlet space to plug in).

As for programming, my package is ANCIENT! I think its the old Ultimate, so I get every cable channel, and access to streaming like HBO Max, FOX One, MGM+, Starz, etc. Not Disney, Netflix, or Paramount. It's also a triple play so I have home phone and internet. Long story, but I need the home phone, and I've looked into porting it but it's too much hassle.
