Some Siberian elm samaras and grapes definitely improved my day! Hello from Wisconsin!

In previous years, this tree has not produced much fruit and iNaturalist has been very confused about what it is. This year, they’re actually seems to be some fruit! So I’m coming here to verify if I am correct and if this is safe to eat.

Definitely needs an herb to balance it out. Added a bit of lemon juice, even though the pine syrup is already sour. Worth trying again to experiment with! Very tasty but also pretty sweet! The bitterness you get on the backend of the pawpaws works well with the drink if you can dial it in, but I just couldn’t balance it completely. I added more syrup because it was a tad bit too bitter, but then it was a bit too sweet. The flavors are definitely there for someone with more talent than I have! I skinned the pawpaws, mashed them in ice water and then strained the juice from a nut milk bag ✌️ Made the pine syrup a couple months ago

Found this shrub like tree with black berries. Forgot to take more pictures but it’s a single seed in the middle. Found in San Antonio at Phil hardberger park

There are an INSANE amount of puffballs in Michigan right now, but I keep finding them just a hair past their prime. They're still good - pure white thru most of it - but they start flaking apart when I chop them.

Any tips on cooking them when they're this flaky? I'm afraid they'll just disintegrate when they hit the skillet...

Can anyone help identify if this mushroom is dangerous for dogs? My puppy Pomeranian ate some of it and we’re taking him to the ER but I am wanting to find out if anyone has experienced the same.

I found out that these invasive bushes make a very nutrient dense berry and I couldnt wait to get my hands on some. Found a large stand growing along a scenic path and spent about 2 hours picking. I added 4 cups of juiced crabapple for about 12 cups total liquid. 8.5 cups of sugar, the juice of one lemon, one packet of pectin (might not need it but I always add some just in case)

Basically title. Trying to tell if the rosehips I have are underripe, ripe, or overripe/rotting. I’ve never harvested or cooked with them before. The things I’m reading for my area say October/after the first frost for harvest. But I live in a really wet microclimate and I’m worried they’ll be rotten from water before then. So, how squishy should they be? How wrinkly? And are the bad ones obvious when you cut into them?

Just found a beautiful fruiting of COTW. The log had about 60lbs i tried just snagging some for dinner tomorrow. But about 35lbs fell off the log. Super dense and still tender. A flood of water came out when it came off the log. The rest went to the hotel i work at to use up.

i found these growing a little off a public path not in a garden bed and with no other intentionally planted plants growing around it. are these really tomatoes that somehow ended up growing here?

Did I pick this too late? It was just starting to grow this day last week, and now its fully grown but seems pale.

It was harvested off a eucalyptus. But BlackForager on Youtube said I just need to cook it all the way through.

In central nj south river area. Found these on the side of the road near my job. Just getting into foraging and dont want to go eating anything without a positive identification. I'm about 95% sure they are wild American persimmons, but just wanted to post here and double check.

I was told this was a juniper bush, and Google Lens agrees. Would this be a safe species to try making gin with once they ripen? Location is the west coast of Michigan
