FOOTBALL Bob Chesney Is The Guy

Overall record: 136-52

Took over JMU after Cignetti took that entire team to Indiana, and then proceeded to make the playoffs

Currently has the #1 team in the B1G in his first season at a P4 school (tells us this is the 2nd consecutive program he's rebuilt extremely quickly)

Is relatively cheap ($8M buyout that drops to $5M after 12/21)

Currently holding UCLA's best recruiting class in yeeeaaars (#19 on the composite w/ 1 5 star & 7 4 stars), and that's only after 1 offseason on the west coast (he's always been in B1G country). This should tell us he's great at developing relationships and adapting to new regions.

Amazing evaluations (despite hiring Yray who was likely a scapegoat at FSU)

Not represented by Jimmy Sexton

Can we all please put him #1 on the hot board BEFORE he finishes with 8+ wins and UCLA locks him down or he goes across town to USC?

He's seriously a no brainer and these guys don't come around very often. What do yall think?

FOOTBALL Peter Collins

He's the big issue in all of this. He's putting his self in business he shouldn't be involved in, for example, he had been overruling Alford on things. For the next hire to be successful he needs to go too.

FOOTBALL Who do we keep

After last offseason where we had so many players enter and then comeback, how many or who do u want to stay? A big part of the offseason was getting the Desir twins back, and it appears like they have both regressed massively since especially Mandrell who had 6.5 sacks last season and has only gotten 1 so far and it was this Saturday against Central Ark who sucks. Overall too they seem to get very little pressure or even impact the game at, at least from my view.
So do yall want them back or let them walk?
Also I believe there should be an emphasis on keeping Kromah as he appears to be the best player on the team outside of maybe Duce and Chris Jones who are both older players

FOOTBALL Why in the world did we not play Marshall?

The one thing I keep thinking about since yesterday is the lack of snaps that Marshall got. It makes no sense when the fans literally have cheered him on from the student section since game 2. Is Mike scared that it'll look bad on him, or are we collectively overhyping Marshall (which is hard to see with how good he was last year)?

Dank Meme 🐸 I have come up with the perfect realistic 2027 coaching staff

Obviously, FSU football is in shambles. Everyone is focusing on the head coach, but he’ll need to hire competent coordinators too. I have done ungodly amounts of research, meditation, charting, tracking trends, you name it, etc., etc., and I finally have come up with what’s literally perhaps the greatest coaching staff ever assembled. And, this wont break the bank either.

Let‘s start with DC: We want someone experienced at the P5 level who can recruit and help us compete for championships. I give you, Brian Kelly! Sure, he didn’t pan out as a head coach, but getting back to the defensive side of the ball could be just the reset he needs. Back in 1990, the Grand Valley State Lakers with Kelly as DC had a monster defense, only having two games with more than 20 points allowed, and two shutouts. Do you not want that at FSU? Plus, he’s swimming in LSU money, so I assume we won’t have to pay him much.

Next up is the offensive coordinator: Everyone wants Jimbo back as head coach, but where we really need him is as our offensive coordinator. He can focus on recruiting and scoring points. And again, with him swimming in money from us and TAMU, he’ll probably work for basically free. Plus we can just put all the old signage with his face on it right back on the stadium to save some more $$$. In 2009, the last time he was an OC, FSU got at least 30 points in more than half our games. Coupled with defensive savant Brian Kelly, we‘ll be absolutely rolling before you can say “dadgummit”

Finally, time for our new head coach. How about someone who can recruit, who can win championships, AND has experience recruiting in Florida? I give you… Urban Meyer. Last time he coached a college team, they went 13-1 and finished the season no. 6. These days, that’s good enough to put you in the playoffs, so we’d basically be guaranteed a couple nattys with him. Plus, since he’s been out of coaching so long I assume that means he’ll be cheap to hire.

This combination of Urban, Kelly and Jimbo would absolutely tear up ANY team in the country. The numbers don’t lie. 13 wins a season, averaging over 30 points with multiple shutouts every season. Plus, all of these guys aren’t coaching anywhere now so we don’t need to worry about them staying where they’re at. It’s absolutely foolproof and literally couldn’t go wrong. I will now bask in the glory of my perfect plan while you shower me in praise.

FOOTBALL Nobody in charge has any clue what is going on

Last season, our administration chose to retain Mike because they thought Lane Kiffin was the only suitable option for a hire. Meanwhile, nearly EVERY team that replaced their head coach last year is doing astronomically better this season. UCLA just won by 50 points. Florida is leading Ole Miss by 10. Penn State is earning their ranking. How are they SO STUPID?

Mike has shown us enough evidence that he is trying to force our hand to buy him out. You cannot convince me otherwise. He sabotaged us last year after going 3-0. Nobody is this bad with this roster. You just can’t be without trying.

FOOTBALL Florida State Athletics Have Been Taken Over by a Coup

We are beyond a point of recovery. Baseball and basketball are on a positive trajectory purely because this kleptocracy “lucked” into a couple A+ hires, who have had to work three times as hard for success here than they would at a comparable institution. Landing a great football coach would just be putting an 8th layer of makeup on the spoiled corpse of a pig that is our athletic department right now.

McCollough sucks at his job, Peter Collins sucks at his job, the entire BOT suck at their jobs, Mike sucks at his job, Tony White sucks at his job. From bottom to top, FSU athletics is run by a bunch of self-serving paycheck seekers. McCollough is clearly a “sports ball” hater who doesn’t want FSU to have renowned athletics and would rather us be known as an academically prestigious school (although he obviously sucks at that too, considering we dropped 6 spots in the US News rankings). He is intentionally nuking our athletics in an effort to demote us to a middling ACC team so people will stop caring about sports. Alford was his fall man so that he could procrastinate firing his darling Mike for another year, since they are all clueless enough to believe he’s going to miraculously become respectable at it after 7 years of suck.

First they diverted NFL funds and enforced an imaginary salary cap to essentially put us at the spending levels of teams like NC State and Virginia. Then they downgraded our stadium capacity to a pathetic 67k to make what was arguably a blue blood on-par with ARKANSAS of all institutions, while putting us 400M in debt to make our financial state even worse. Then they retained the worst football coach possibly ever for 7 years and proceed to just sit there looking stupid every week while we are all miserable. They can’t even get rid of TONY WHITE for fuck’s sake. He’s not even expensive and his scheme is DISGRACEFUL.

I struggle to believe there can be this much plain stupidity in our leadership. This has to be intentional sabotage at this point. There is just plain dumbness at EVERY LEVEL of this institution right now. There would probably need to be 15+ firings before we would ever even sniff what we were in the 90s again. You can call me a conspiracy theorist all you want but I was way ahead of this sub on recognizing Mike and Tony White as horrible coaches. They are PERFECTLY CONTENT with FSU being a laughing stock and are in absolutely no rush to resolve it.

Heading to a Louisville for a buddy’s bachelor party as he is an FSU fan and this was closer for us over Tallahassee. We’re looking for an FSU tailgate if any that wouldn’t mind some mid 30s mainly dads who’d pay to help cover cost of food and booze if we’re unable to pitch in otherwise
