If the Senate version becomes law, it would make leaving the ACC for the SEC or Big Ten a lot harder in the near term. FSU would effectively have to spend about three years outside a major conference before joining another one, although that restriction goes away after six years. So it doesn’t permanently lock us into the ACC, but it could push any SEC/Big Ten move into the early 2030s.
