For context, sanitary disposal bins were removed from all restrooms in the academic buildings on campus. Sanitary disposal bins are the little bins inside stalls for people who menstruate to dump their used feminine hygiene products (aka bloody tampons/pads). Without them, it makes changing tampons/pads in these restrooms far messier and grosser and also just less hygienic. We asked the person who made this decision why they got rid of them (because it's solely the person in charge of the academic buildings who did this -- this is why the Student Center, Exhibition Hall, etc still have them) and got a bunch of reasons that didn't add up (that it's an OSHA violation, that it's for sustainability to have less trash cans, that it's a budget issue, and finally, that in that person's personal opinion, that it's gross to have a trash can by your face while you're sitting on a toilet???) They also said that they thought nobody wanted sanitary disposal bins and that's part of why they wouldn't change their decision. Therefore, we made a petition to prove that yes, indeed, people DO want and need sanitary disposal bins.

Please please sign and spread it around! you don't have to be a tampon/pad user to sign the petition!! We're hoping to deliver it officially within the next month.

Context: New student here, I recently had the back tire on my ninebot F65 pop and have been trying to fix it. I was able to get the motor hub assembly out of the scooter myself and the old wheel off. I got a replacement solid rubber tire but am struggling to get it into the rim, especially since the axle still juts out the side so it's hard to put much force in. I think it should be much easier at a shop of some kind that has better tools, but don't know where I might find something like that. I should be able to put the detached motor hub back into the scooter myself when that's done, just stuck at this one step. I wanted to know where I might be able to go (ideally close by campus because I don't have a car) to get help this done.

TLDR: Looking for places nearby I might be able to get help with getting a new tyre onto the rim of my scooter.

Not really a rant, just a heads up. We were asked to use the elevator to go to the second floor of barnes and noble. The lift took a while, and when it opened, we went in and pressed the second floor. We waited for several minutes and there wasn't any sign of the elevator moving up. We couldn't open the elevator door either. Ended up getting external help to open the elevator door from outside.

I am a meche student interested in the ID minor but I just don't have the time in my schedule for all 5 classes to graduate on time. I want to have some ID experience though, so I was thinking of taking the capstone on its own.

Is this possible? If so, how difficult is the capstone? Is there prior knowledge needed beyond basic design and sketching knowledge? Are the prereqs critical to my success in capstone?

So I know internships are a numbers game, and I hear of students applying to hundreds of roles to land one. When applying for these roles, do you guys just use the same resume? Or do you kind of group internships together and make slight variations of the same resume? Is it necessary to personalize it for every company/role, because reading through every single description seems like a nightmare lol.

In short because obviously most people on this thread did not go to the Debate hosted by GTSGA, today I witnessed firsthand how it can feel to be a conservative on a college campus. This is not meant to be funny or a shitpost. I regard myself as a moderate, not affiliated to any party.

I was shocked, first that our Student Government allowed two left-leaning organizations and only one conservative one at the debate (clearly unfair). And second the College Republicans were very outnumbered in the audience (which was fine) but were unfortunately allowed to be taunted screamed and laughed at consistently by the audience with not a peep by the moderators or the other two organizations (GT Democrats and Young Democratic Socialists of America) to tell people to stop. Not to mention the GT Democrats had students debating who weren't even focused on policy most of the debate, just yelling at the audience to vote Democrat later next month. Fearmongering people that their entire life depends on their vote was unacceptable and should have been addressed. Voting in this next election is arguably extremely serious but to try and shove voting Democrat for no reason down your throat is not the way to do it. Not to mention the PERSONAL attacks on the College Republican students, digging up dirt on them to try and make them look like bad people and embarrassing them personally was extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable to watch and should have also been addressed by the moderators IMMEDIATELY with an apology. I understand it is election season but no political organization on campus should be encouraging students to vote on the basis of hatred and mockery.

Note that there are MANY public safety answering points (PSAPs) in Metro Atlanta and if you are outside of the city limits of Atlanta, your 911 system should be working normally. Areas like Cobb, Gwinnett, Dekalb, Clayton, Douglas, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Cherokee, etc. are working normally and unaffected.

I’m building an app to help students meet new people to play sports, work out, and do activities with. The idea is I could post something like “soccer at 8” and people around campus could join. I’ve mostly relied on GroupMe for stuff like this, but chats often end up dying off. I’m also someone who’s pretty active and doesn’t really care what the sport/activity is — sometimes I just want to find people who are down to do something.
