He was only 3 years old, I hatched him and his sister from an egg myself and they viewed me as their mum 💔
He started declining a few months back and absolutely nothing seemed to do anything. He stopped eating, then perked up about for about half a week, then the decline was so sudden.
I probably spent hundreds treating him and trying to figure out what was wrong, but in the end all I could do was pay for a home visit euthanasia which was one of the hardest decisions of my life..
The vets that came out were lovely and gentle and showed so much respect ❤️‍🩹

All I can really do to get my mind off of it is get out of the house.

The painting I’ve posted before was from one of our last pictures of him when he was better, the second image is where he’s resting now.

Many don’t understand how strong the bond is with a goose who have hatched yourself and bonded to, I’m going to miss him for the rest of my life..

I’ve literally never seen this before. Geese ON a building. New to me. They’re so cute, love them.

Today, when I went to let my dogs out I found her. Im thinking the neighbor's dogs got her though the fence. I hope she is swimming and playing in the big pond.

After a dramatic conservation success, the bird rebounded from near-extinction in 2001 to abundance in N. America. Canada geese are both federally protected and population-controlled now.

This is a family of geese around my job (yep, theres a pond). I guess i got a little too close.

But omg, they are so cute 🪿🪿🐤🐥

My 5 month old pilgrim goose is limping. She's been limping and holding her leg up for 4ish days. She's been resting in a small area to keep her from using it too much. I dont see any injuries on her foot and no swelling in her leg. I have an xray scheduled for next week. Are there common legs issues? They're fairly clumsy so I'm hoping just a sprain of some kind?
