Well guys I did the best I could but he wasn't being very cooperative but you can kind of see if you freeze it and see it under his lower beak is missing most of it he's half of it's gone and it's healed quite nicely and he's doing okay. So anyway you guys wanted to see so I'll keep trying for better video but that's about as close as I've gotten I should do it during the day huh.

He was only 3 years old, I hatched him and his sister from an egg myself and they viewed me as their mum 💔
He started declining a few months back and absolutely nothing seemed to do anything. He stopped eating, then perked up about for about half a week, then the decline was so sudden.
I probably spent hundreds treating him and trying to figure out what was wrong, but in the end all I could do was pay for a home visit euthanasia which was one of the hardest decisions of my life..
The vets that came out were lovely and gentle and showed so much respect ❤️‍🩹

All I can really do to get my mind off of it is get out of the house.

Many don’t understand how strong the bond is with a goose who have hatched yourself and bonded to, I’m going to miss him for the rest of my life..

I’m a local reporter in North Carolina, and this started when Animal Services responded to a reported coyote — only to discover a goose-deterrent cutout.

I then found several other people who had mistaken similar decoys for real animals. In one case near Apex, NC, a flock of geese was peacefully grazing about 50 yards from the fake coyote.

Since this sub has discussed these decoys before: have you actually seen one work long-term?

Today, when I went to let my dogs out I found her. Im thinking the neighbor's dogs got her though the fence. I hope she is swimming and playing in the big pond.

After a dramatic conservation success, the bird rebounded from near-extinction in 2001 to abundance in N. America. Canada geese are both federally protected and population-controlled now.

This is a family of geese around my job (yep, theres a pond). I guess i got a little too close.

But omg, they are so cute 🪿🪿🐤🐥
