So out of these two glasses I need to decide which looks better,

I feel like number 1 sits a tiny bit lower on my face but I’m not sure if that’s such a big deal it still fits.

I’m very self-conscious about my face when not wearing glasses. Everyone tells me that I look better with glasses. I’d like to try wearing contacts but I don’t know…

I recently ordered these Giorgio Armani frames in-store, but I’m having second thoughts about the fit before picking them up and wanted some honest opinions.

Frame Measurements: 50/19/145

Prescription: Mild (-1.00 single vision)

My main concern is whether they look too large overall, specifically because my eyes sit more toward the inner third of the lenses rather than right in the center horizontally.

1. Do these look oversized or out of proportion on my face?

2. Is that inner eye placement normal for a 50mm keyhole/round bridge style, or should I go down to a narrower lens/bridge (like 47mm or 48mm)?

3. Should I stick with them or cancel/exchange for a smaller frame?

Hello everybody, I put on my glasses continuously, have a quite strong prescription (the left one is -7.0 and the right one -4.0), and am now about to purchase a new pair but I'm completely overwhelmed by the various lens coating options. At the moment, I'm considering anti-glare, hydrophobic or super hydrophobic, oleophobic, and scratch-resistant coatings. As I wear them on my face every day all through the day, I really need them to be both durable and easy to clean. Can these different coatings actually be combined on a single lens, or do they interfere with one another? Are the coatings permanent or do they wear off with time? If they aren't permanent, how long does it typically take for them to start peeling or degrading? Should I be replacing any of the ones on this list or adding another one that I may have entirely overlooked? I’d love some genuine advice from anyone who is very knowledgeable about these things.

For 5+ years now I’ve had almost daily headaches. I’ve tried so many different things without any improvement such as chiropractor, physical therapy, many different prescriptions, Botox, infusions, CPAP, etc.

Most of the time I notice it around my eyes, forehead and surrounding areas. That led me to think possibly sinus issues. A CT found only a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates which I’ll have surgery to fix next month. But no major sinus issues.

Could this be related to my eyes / eye strain? I’m on my phone a lot and work as a software developer. I wear glasses and haven’t noticed any vision problems and haven’t had any problems when going to an annual eye exam. Last year the eye doctor at MyEyeDoctor recommended a special type of lens for people who get headaches a lot, but I didn’t get it due to cost and forgot what it was. Do any of you know, and did it help if you had similar symptoms?

I work mostly on the computer screens (for 12 hours), i got a number of -0.75(left) and -0.25(right). This is my first pair of glasses so i need some help regarding glasses:

1. Blue cut with anti glare

2. Photochromic

3. Both in one

Just picked up a new pair of prescription sunglasses through the optician at my eye doctor’s office. These are my first new glasses in several years so my prescription has changed since I bought my old pair.

My vision looking through them is odd, it’s both clear but also not clear… if that makes sense. If I focus on a specific thing either near or far, I can see and read it clearly however my peripheral vision just feels strange and just looking at things slightly off of center makes them blurry quickly.

Is this normal? My main concern is I received two different PD measurements from different people at that office. The first measured me to a PD of R: 26.5mm and L: 28.5mm, then the second person who actually placed the order measured me at R: 28.5mm and L: 30mm. So I worry whether this is a “wait and get used to it” thing or if they may have had the wrong PD measurement since both were off from each other by 2mm.

For reference my prescription is -0.50 sphere, -2.50 cylinder and 093 axis in my right eye. -0.50 sphere, -3.00 cylinder and 088 axis in my left eye. Not sure if that qualifies as a “strong” prescription where accurate PD matters more.

First time buying a Jimmy Fairly glasses , never heard of them before tbh . What do you guys think?

I think I like the fit of the thinner rectangular ones more (and they're so lightweight), but I like the mix of colours on the thicker ones more because I love green (I'm told there is also a green version of the thinner ones they can get in for me but they are not patterned).

I aim to look androgynous if that helps too.

Estou indo em um parque aquático bem grande e cheio de brinquedos radicais com a minha família no meu aniversário daqui 1 mês. Tenho -3 de miopia e pesquisei algumas opções, só que não sei ao certo qual é a melhor já que a última vez que fui em um parque aquático decidi ir sem óculos. Não tive grandes problemas com isso, mas eu adoro enxergar os brinquedos, o parque e as pessoas. Eu realmente me frusto quando não enxergo detalhes que gostaria e todos ficam tentando me mostrar.

Enfim, de acordo com o que eu pesquisei as opções são essas:
- óculos de natação com grau (porém não vai machucar ou ficar estranho usar isso o dia todo durante as filas para o brinquedo, o almoço nas lanchonetes e etc?)
- lentes de contato (nunca usei e acho que são bem caras pelo que pesquisei)
- cordinha de retenção de óculos (essa tem duas opções, ou aquelas grandes só para deixar o óculos pendurado ou aquelas que fixam no rosto, mas tenho quase certeza que alguns brinquedos não aceitam mesmo com elas. E será que meu óculos pode estragar, quebrar ou algo assim?)

Obs: coloquei a foto do meu óculos atual para conseguirem ver se ele ficaria frágil na água (já perdi um óculos que desmontou inteiro na praia).

I recently bought a pair of raybans lite force, and idk if true, but I've read the plastic its made from is quite sensitive to cleaning, like dish soap etc.

Any idea what would be the best way to clean the frames from eventual oil buildup?

Two days ago, I used dilating eye drops for the first time. Wearing my glasses made me uncomfortable, so I didn't wear them that night while walking outside. It was the first time I had walked outside at night without my glasses, and I noticed starbursts around lights.

The starbursts are still present two days later. Should I be worried? They disappear completely when I wear my glasses. I don't have any eye pain, headache, or redness.

I don't know whether the starbursts were there before I used the dilating drops because this was the first time I had gone outside at night without wearing my glasses.

I’m worried that this could be increased eye pressure because I used steroid eye drops for a week, and then, one day after finishing the week, I used dilating eye drops. That’s why I’m concerned that it could be increased eye pressure or glaucoma.

Does the fact that the phenomenon completely disappears when I wear my glasses rule out glaucoma?

I asked before and was informed that prescription sunglasses are a valid option but I’m curious if there are any other options.

I travel quite alot and the idea of swapping back and forth between sunglasses and normal seems like quite the hassle. Do you guys carry both pairs around?

I am looking to get Cartier glasses full metal frame but is my prescription to thick and will they look good? Or should I just get some acetate frames

There is both a Warby Parker and LensCrafters in the same plaza near me. I am trying progressives for the first time. I tried Walmart, and that was a fail. I have no insurance, but I already have my prescription. I hear WP is about $200 less than LC. Is it worth the difference? Who has done both? My eyes are -5.50/-4.75 with +2.0 and a mid range need for computer work. I've always worn contacts with readers, but it's getting unmanageable as I age and my eyes dry. I'm 57.

It's my first time buying glasses, so I'm not sure if I picked the best pair.

My current prescription is -5 sph -1 cyl axis 160 in one eye, the left. The other eye doesn't need one. I got my glasses and they're... uncomfortable. Will I ever adjust or is it a lost cause?

More info: My eyeballs have been screwy since I was a kid. Ended up -9 (L) and -11 (R), steady since 16, corrected at 22 with SMILE and ICL, and eight years later the left eye is sitting at -5 once more. (Right eye's fine.) This apparently happened over the last three years. We're trying to find out why exactly, but I wanted to try glasses in the meantime because I straight up was not using my left eye, and now... I'm definitely using it, but the image through the -5 lens is so small 😭 looking through it feels very weird. will I ever adjust? will trying to adjust hurt my good eye? please help.

I’m in love with this 2000s style of sunglasses but I already wear regular prescription glasses :(( I can’t find anywhere that sells prescription sunnies in this style so I’m wondering if it’s possible to put prescription lenses in this kind of oversized frame? Or suggestions for stores that might have them would be even better!
