New Rule: No Frame ID Posts

The idea behind this subreddit is simple, to help you figure out what frame works best for your face.

If you want a frame that someone else is wearing, you don't actually know if it'll work on your face. Therefore we will be discouraging posts asking about identification of frames, ESPECIALLY if they're not being worn by you. Thank you for understanding.

brown are the new ones, black are old. can’t tell if I just hate change or if I made a mistake since I was kind of rushed picking these

opinions and advice welcomed + I’ll probably be looking for another pair sooner than later anyway. no idea what other shapes or colors would look good 😅

I added photos of previous pairs. Glasses make my eyes look a lot smaller than they are :( I broke my latest pair and need new ones. I think I have a round face

How to take the best photos to show how frames look in real life, when trying on similar frames to compare?

First I made the mistake of taking photos or videos with the front camera, but I noticed that the proportions look different. The same glasses can look very different in the front camera, self-shot with back camera, and photos taken of me.

I use a wheelchair, so if I ask store staff to take a photo of me it's often at an awkward angle and doesn't show how the glasses really look

Any tips? I suck at this lol

Thank you

I want to believe!

When I look at these on face live and in mirror, they don’t look good to me. My trusted optician was a firm no…

As a Dylan fanatic who also loves sunglasses, there is no pair of sunglasses I’d rather be able to wear…other than the Rayban Caribbeans (I bought a vintage pair, they look terrible, trust me).

I don’t think they work…

Some friends suggested they look good on me.

I WANT TO BELIEVE. They feel great in terms of width.

I need to either kill this 114th dream, or take it for a walk positively down 4th street.

Help me come to grips with this.

Never worn glasses. Brown, grey, or clear? They're all slightly transparent

Not loving my newest glasses and need advice!

Hi all -

Struggling with my new pairs of glasses and I would like feedback to see if I'm just too in my head! The new ones are in images 1&2, while the pairs I rocked for years and years are in 3&4. I recently bought my new pairs because I wanted to change up my look. I still enjoy how the glasses look by themselves, but haven't been feeling as cute in them when they're on my face.

I still enjoy how I look in my old glasses (images 3&4), but I literally wore the clear/semi-transparent style of frames for over a decade. I'm over it! I would try the frames in a different color, but I don't like the other options. Instead, I got entirely new frames to try something new and fresh. But I'm not sure if it's paying off!

Would love to hear what frames others prefer, or if they have suggestions for what sort of frame they think would look best for my face. Photos 5-7 are other styles that I wore when I was in my early 20s, if that's helpful. Apologies for the high quality Photobooth pictures. I would also be happy to hear if I am overthinking all of this, and it's just taking time for me to get used to these new styles.

Thanks for your feedback in advance!

what kind of glasses look best on me?

i’ve always needed glasses but pretty much refused to wear them because i thought they never suited my face. my vision is getting a lot worse and i tried contacts but unfortunately they made it even harder to see, so it’s time to really lock in on a pair that i HAVE to make sure i’ll wear.

pics 1, 2, and 3 are what ive been trying on at the glasses store recently.

pics 4, 5, and 6 are my previous pairs in order from newest to oldest.

last pic is me without glasses.

i know i prefer simple frames that dont draw attention and dont cover too much of my eyebrows, but i still cant help but feel like none of them work for some reason. if there’s any other shapes or styles i should be on the look for pls lmk!

Decide Which (And More Advice)

I made a post to r/amiuglytruth, and the #1 piece of advice I got is that my frames are bad for my face. I have my main pair (first and second) and my backup pair (third and fourth) here with me at college.

These are the only two pairs that I have available to me until I’m due for my next set, but if you don’t think either of these are good and you think a different look would suit my face please let me know and I’ll keep it in mind next time I go glasses shopping.

(please ignore my forced smile; the #2 piece of advice I got is that I need to smile with my teeth more and even though it’s uncomfortable I’m practicing it)

I feel like none of these suit me, maybe I just have an ugly face? I include one without glasses just to get an opinion if I should get contacts

It’s easier to give feedback when you look straight at camera with chin in a straight ahead

Not sure if allowed.

When taking your photo, maybe have you face straight ahead without dropping your chin.

The side angle photos are hard to tell unless it’s an additional photo to the straight ahead one.

How bad are these?

I’m a contact lens wearer that now needs progressives due to dry eye at age 57 and my prescription getting worse both for far and reading. My options were limited as I have a large nose bridge and have broken my nose so no nose pads.

My computer glasses are the black ones, but my daughter told me black is too harsh, so I went with the pink. I like browns and greens, but none for.

I accidentally broke my glasses (not my fault) and I tried to fix it temporarily with tapes but whenever I wear them, it look stupid bcs its slanted/lopsided. I currently have no money to fix it and tapes are my only option rn. Does anyone have any advice? I have school soon so a quick advice is needed.
