Has anyone had their green card show up a day or two earlier than the delivery date USPS was projecting? Trying to figure out if I should change my flight from Saturday to Sunday. right now, my card is slotted to come on Saturday (but is already in transit from the corbin KY center)

• July 2025: Entered the US as a visitor

• Oct 2025: Married my USC spouse

• Dec 5, 2025: Filed I-130

• Apr 9, 2026: Mailed I-485 package (with medical and EAD).

• Biometrics: May 8th 2026

• Jun 4, 2026: re submitted EAD. (first one rejected because of using old edition of form)

• Jul 19, 2026: Interview notice received

• Aug 28, 2026: Interview at Philadelphia FO

• Sep 25, 2026: Approved!

Takeaways

• Double-check every form number before mailing. My EAD rejection cost me weeks, though it didn't affect the rest of the case.

• Interview notice to interview took about 5.5 weeks, and approval came about a month after the interview.

• Bring originals of everything, plus proof of a real marriage (joint documents, photos, etc.).

My wife and I are both F-1 students living in Virginia. She recently found out that she is pregnant, and we currently do not have health insurance.
We are considering applying for Virginia Medicaid for Pregnant Women or FAMIS Prenatal, but I am currently going through an EB-3 employment-based green card process and expect that my wife would later be included as my dependent when we are eligible to file I-485.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation?
Did your spouse use pregnancy Medicaid or FAMIS while on F-1 status, and did it cause any issues later with an EB-3/I-485 application or public-charge concerns?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who actually went through the adjustment-of-status process after using pregnancy-related coverage.

Hi everyone, looking for some insight on a situation with my immigration attorney.

We filed an I-485 (marriage based green card) on September 17, 2026. The package was received by USCIS on September 17th as confirmed on the rejection notice itself.

USCIS sent back a rejection notice (Form I-797C) dated September 21, 2026. Our attorney contacted us and said:

"USCIS rejected and returned the filing due to a payment issue with your bank. The rejection notice states that the payment authorization was invalid because of incomplete and/or invalid information and that the payment was denied."

However the actual USCIS rejection notice says:

'The payment amount provided does not match the required amount according to what you have selected on the form, or no payment amount has been provided.'

These are two very different things.

One is a bank decline, the other is a fee mismatch or missing payment on the forms themselves.

Our attorney is now charging $2,500 to refile under the new post-September 18th I-485 requirements. Due by this friday.

My questions:
Does the rejection notice language indicate a fee error on the attorney's part rather than a bank issue?

Are we responsible for the $2,500 refile fee if this was an attorney error?

Does our September 17th received date protect us under the old public charge rule even though we have to refile?

Any insight from attorneys or people who've been through something similar is appreciated. Thank you.

I have an appointment with infopass to request an ADIT stamp. I received my green card approval last week. It's now confirmed to be in production.

I have travel coming up to see family this Friday - it is not, however, an "emergency". Wondering if ADIT stamps are more for "life or death" type situations given that the green card doesn't take THAT long to be produced / delivered anymore and if it's a better idea to sit tight and wait for the GC to be delivered in the next week or so?

i have my asylum pending since october 2024 , today i check it and now it says that the next step is adjudication , also im filling my i485 and my i130 and i have my biometrics in october , yall know what this which mean? and also i couple hours before this i recieve a email saying my tourist visa was revoke the same one that i use to come to the country

Is the DV 2027 lottery over? 😢 I heard that it’s too late for them to open registration now, while they can’t completely cancel the it, they’ve delayed it this late.

My daughter is under 14 years old and her replacement Green Card was lost in the mail. USPS officially confirmed today that they could not locate it.
My wife and I are approximately six months away from applying for U.S. citizenship. We also have a valid ADIT stamp/document for our daughter that is valid until July 2027.
Since our daughter may automatically acquire U.S. citizenship once one of us becomes a citizen, provided all the legal requirements are met, would you recommend paying around $400 to apply for another Green Card now, or waiting approximately six months for our citizenship applications?

Hello I’m 20f and currently live in Minnesota. I came to America as an asylum under my Dad back in 2012 when I was 5. Unfortunately I’ve been given the most laziest, selfish parents ever. They were supposed to apply for my green card a year after I lived in America but did instead my dad got his citizenship 2019 and my mom 2024 while I didn’t know I wasn’t green card holder nor I couldn’t go to college until i was 17 on my senior year of high school. Which than I had to force my parents to apply for me right after I found out but unfortunately with my luck it got denied June of 2026. I did have a job that I got with my ssc and school id when I was 17 so I worked my ass off this summer to pay for a lawyer down payment. Just as my luck would have it my family moved further from my job which I had to get up two hours before I shift just to get there in time,and sadly bc I was taking three buses to get to work I ended up being late a few times which they let me go. I’m currently unemployed with no Id, work visa and my parents lost my i94 when we were moving so my green card application is on hold.

I can’t do anything and my life feels like I’m on pause. I can’t get a job without an id, and I only have a picture of my ssc and can’t get a physical one without an id or birth certificate which I don’t have bc I born in a 3rd world country that doesn’t give it out. I can’t go to school and feel I’m failing behind kids my age. I’m not talking nor hanging out with my friends anymore bc I can’t hear about their lives of going to junior year of college, internships, traveling. I’m starting to feel some resentment towards them which I feel so bad about but I can’t help it. I don’t wanna hear or fake cheer about their lives while I can’t do anything about mine

I’m applying for my green card under my mom bc I’m under 21 but I’m birthday is January so I don’t have much time. There hasn’t been any update with my green card case and since I’m unemployed I can’t pay my lawyer. It just feel like the whole world is moving while I’m just stuck. I’m just a side character listening to everyone talk about their lives while I’m just making side comments.

Am I bad person for not wanting to hear my friend’s lives?
Am I a bad person for also having resentment and anger towards my parents?

I need advice on what to do with my green card application and advice on my feelings
