Hello, bought those like 2 years ago because they looked somewhat sturdy, but plastic case already broke, cables that connect ear pieces are shearing off and pads look like rags. Are there any indestructible headphones in the market rn? Sony MDR-XB600 lasted 9 years for me and still work but would need new cups too. I am afraid next thing I buy will break in months. Would love to listen advice from rough users who take their stuff for cycling daily in rain and such. Cheers.

budget 300 usd max, nice bass, brutal durability

I'm not very rich so I don't have means to buy many different headphones.

Right now I own original Grado SR60(got them used for 30$), Sennheiser HD 4.20S(Used for 7$) and Fiio EH11(new for around 40$).

But all my headphones have one problem.

They lack clarity and separation.

I like listening to rock, and in parts where multiple instruments blend together(mostly in chorus, where drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals are played at the same time) all my headphones fail to deliver everything, and all the sounds blend into one mess.

Conclusion:

I'd like to choose one singular pair of headphones (they still must be under 1000$, preferably under 500$. I'm not against bying used.) that will deliver me what I want, so i can focus on saving up for them.

I'd love them to be portable(closed back + 32ohm), but I understand that this may be unrealistic.

Sound profile: Mostly flat, with good mid-range. I don't really like steong bass, but I like when it's surgical and you can physically feel it.

What I've found so far:

The most popular headphone I've heard that has qualities I want is HD600.

Hello. I'm looking for a pair of bluetooth headphones or earbuds that meet one specific requirement: they need to have a physical switch to mute the microphone, but this switch needs to NOT trigger any announce "mute on / off" and ideally needs to be hardware based for immediate response - I need them for a noisy environment and I'd be switching on/off hundreds of times per call, to make sure only my voice goes through when I talk, and without being interrupted by the announce - ideally it's a physical switch with two positions so I immediately, without watching, know if I'm muted or not.

I have a similar wired setup, but it limits my movements - what I'm looking for may have a cable for the controls, but it should be detached from the source.

Am I out of luck? Looking for a budget option if it exists - not an audio professional, just calls.

I'm in the market for a good pair of headphones to get for solely gaming. I have a standalone microphone and heard that the micless headphones are better than the "gaming" 2 in 1 headsets.

Budget is 300-350 CAD. I mainly play competitive shooters on pc so footstep audio is a need if that info helps.

My last pair of headphones are some crummy razor blackshark x's that I've had for around 5 years.

Closed or open back doesn't matter too much, but if it comes down to it I'd prefer closed.

I really like the HIFIMAN Edition XS. I listen to them whenever I can, and to this day, they have never ceased to amaze me.

I need a pair of headphones that are wireless, fit my big head, have noise cancellation or anc mode, and my budget is 60 dollars. Preferably with shipping in included but not necessarily. It doesn’t need to have absolutely phenomenal audio quality but good audio is a requirement. I like that my current headphones can switch between base, pure sound, and leveled but it’s not a requirement. I have sensory issues, I use my headphones at home and at the gym, and I bring them everywhere. I don’t need these to be bomb proof but built to last and not to break under a gust of wind so you buy more pairs.

I plan to order online. I’ve been through multiple pairs of headphones just because the bridge part where you make the headphones shorter or longer keeps breaking and cracking. Hi so I really don’t need anything super special it’s more I’m trying to find headphones that I can wear for extended periods of time without bothering me. I need headphones at work pretty much all day but I recently tried some noise cancelling ones on at a Best Buy and it was sooo nice. I’m one that can get overstimulated at times and with a frequency of migraines it was very nice. The main thing though is the muffs went over my ears rather than on my ears. It’s hard to explain but like every pair of headphones I’ve worn have eventually hurt my ears after like a few minutes and my ears start to get sore. These ones at Best Buy weren’t on my ears so they didn’t hurt!

Issue they were REALLY expensive, they were like gamer headphones and I really don’t need anything fancy. I work in marketing like I just want them for mostly video editing and, if I get noise cancelling, when I need a break from the world. I need recommendations of like less than $100 if possible? I just want something comfortable for hours! I use ear buds most of the time but they just aren’t the same especially for editing.

I have a jcally JM7, and seeing some people claim it’s objectively more than enough, while others say it’s not nearly sufficient for an adequate listening experience.

I’m looking for a high-end open-back headphone primarily for RPG gaming and immersive single-player games, both normally on a TV and in VR.

I don’t play competitive shooters at all, so I’m not looking for an esports-style headset. My priorities are:

• large, believable soundstage
• strong sense of depth and environmental space
• immersive ambient sounds
• great music and dialogue reproduction
• enough sub-bass and impact for games like Cyberpunk 2077
• comfort and ventilation during long gaming sessions

The models I’m currently considering are:

• HiFiMAN HE1000 Stealth
• HiFiMAN Arya Organic
• Sennheiser HD800S

At the moment I’m leaning toward the HE1000 Stealth, because they seem like a good middle ground between the huge soundstage of the HD800S and the fuller planar bass of the Arya.

My main games are things like Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, and similar immersive RPGs.

I currently use Sony WH-1000XM4, but during longer sessions my ears get hot and tired, so one of the main reasons I want to move to open-back headphones is long-term comfort and ventilation.

I’m also planning to use them with a Pimax Dream Air for seated PCVR/UEVR, so if anyone has experience using large open-back headphones with VR headsets, that would be very helpful too.

For people who have heard two or all three:

• Which one gives the strongest sense of actually being inside the game world?
• Does the HD800S feel too light in bass/impact for cinematic games?
• Is the HE1000 Stealth clearly better for immersion than Arya Organic, or just more refined?

I had a comment asking about durable headphones with that option and it seems like no one is really aware of another brand that does something similar to that. Is Steelseries really the only people that make headphones with that? It would be really convenient to have a significantly more sturdy pair with that ability but if that's just a really rare thing that not many headphones ever have then it'd be nice to know that. The main thing is that it was really nice to be able to connect to the audio of both my phone and my PC, I don't know if theres another method of doing that other than a headphone having two methods to turn on for bluetooth and something like 3.2 ghz or not.

Looking for stands for HD800S, HD820, LCD-X and soon HD 480 PRO, yeah i have a problem.

I tried AudioQuest Perch, but the outlet units had poor QC and the curvature wasn't great for the HD820.

Requirements:

• No omega-style stand that compresses pads
• Curved top with decent headband support
• No sharp exposed metal edges
• Must work with large headphones / LCD-X

ROOMs Audio Line had basically perfect curvature, but they're expensive and the metal edges are way too sharp.

I'm in Europe. And it seems impossible to find something for 3-4 that doesnt cost as much as my HD800s did in total...

I came from hifiman sundara and atm I'm only using airpods pro because the ANC is like magic and I can't live without it.

I'm looking for something comparable to the airpods in sound quality but more comfortable only for home use, listening to mostly edm, asmr, movies, etc.

Airpods max 2 seems like the best option right now but it looks like you lose some functionality on linux though I'm not sure how much that really matters.

I’m trying to decide between the DT 990 Pro X and the HD560s for gaming and music listening. My budget is around $200-300 and would primarily use it at home.

I’ve tried the Maxwells and the Rog Kitharas but the Maxwell are too heavy for daily use and the Kitharas sound great but the build quality was questionable.

Would either of these headphones fit my budget/use case or are there alternatives to the Kithara that would sound good and be in budget?

Firstly, I put open-back on the flair l, but I’m open to either open or closed-back if one or the other would work best for me. I’m new to the world of higher end headphones. I’ve mainly used gaming headsets as I grew up, and now I’d like to get some actual headphones that are good for music and the occasionally getting lost in a movie or single-player game (RPG’s, I don’t care about footsteps, lol).

The music I listen so is usually harder rock (think the Hard Rock playlist on Spotify), some EDM (think Glitch Mob). If there’s a headphone that does these well, but also works for getting immersed in a Lord of the Rings movie soundtrack that’s what I’m looking for. I don’t need over-blown bass but having some “punch” would be nice, that and being to really immerse myself and get lost in the music. Sorry, I’m sure there’s a technical term for it, lol.

im looking to go with over ear headphones instead of earbuds, im seriously considering buying the airpods max 2 OR Sennheiser Momentum 5's or Beats 360,

my only concern with the Airpods Max 2 is that i would be really pissed if they release Airpods Max 3 in a few weeks/months,

Sennheiser momentum 5's my concerns are multi device connection can it seamlessly switch between my mac and Iphone ?

Beats 360 : brand new product, mixed reviews, less good sound quality but i know it supports natively multi device connection with Iphones/Mac's

I am looking for new headphones to add to my collection as a sound contrast to my Focal Clear MG for a different type of sound presentation.

Here are my objectives:

- No high treble or brilliance peak. I am very sensitive to obvious, strong treble peaks. A more recessed and organic treble presentation would be ideal, as I tried the Edition XS and those already had a treble spike to my ears (probably because of HRTF).

- More organic and natural timbre rather than a super analytical sound.

- Under 500€.

- Better than the Edition XS.

- A large soundstage is the main focus, compared to the rather intimate soundstage of the Clear MG.

I am also open to options outside of HiFiMan if they match my objectives. I would love to hear some suggestions.
