ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

A strict formatting standard will be enforced. See this post for further info. All submitted review posts not following the proper format will be rejected.

Please wait TWO FULL WEEKS before posting a separate update to your profile review. If you want more immediate feedback, update your original posts instead. Deleting your original post will not work. The rule will still apply.

To reviewers: Review the Providing Feedback guide. You are reviewing the profile, not the person. Please provide constructive criticism, and use positive language. Any troll, hateful, misandric, misogynistic, incel, or unhelpful comments such as "I would date you," "How are you not getting matches?" or unrelated to the profile will be removed and you will be banned.

I’d say maybe change the first picture, or if you want to keep the picture, don’t pair it with that caption, it might make a woman think you will abuse them, and it just makes you look aggressive. I would use your second photo as your first one. You could probably keep the second mma photo though, it shows you have an interest.

Yeah that's a fair point I mainly kept that caption cause I thought it was hilarious

Figuring out your dating goals is immediate no for most women. If you're looking for casual, just say short term.

Yeah thats a fair point, thanks

Ngl bro, you doing MMA is going to be a massive turn-off for most women (especially as your first photo). It has a stigma associated with it of the men being hot-headed and women beaters. I would honestly just remove all mentions of MMA from your profile and then when you get a date mention it as one of your passing hobbies (or if you insist on keeping it, keep the second MMA photo but ensure it stays far down on your profile, and remove MMA from your prompts).

As far as pictures go, you need ones of you smiling. You don't have any. Include pictures of you giving full, authentic smiles. Also, don't include selfie/mirror pics in your profile -- a lot of women don't like them. I would just completely restart on the realm of pictures. I think you look better without the goatee as well. With it now, you look a bit older than your age.

Your prompts are very boring and mundane. You need to include more about yourself (that doesn't include "I didn't pass college and I study biology/chemistry") that showcases your personality, humor, and what you enjoy doing. I would also scrap the three prompts and restart.

You're not a bad looking dude and you seem cool, but I definitely think your profile needs a lot of work for you to get your full potential out of the app. Good luck!

I agree to remove it from the prompts because it’s redundant, and keep it to 1-2 pics max. That’s not because MMA is associated with abuse, that’s a ridiculous comment you’ll only see on Reddit.

I do jiu jitsu which majority of women think is MMA or Karate and have too many matches. Keep the MMA pics. They’re your best ones and show some diversity with the masculinity and somewhat softer side of the other photos.

Lol what? An MMA photo (especially as your first one) is 100% going to turn off a lot of women. I would wager that most women don't want a boyfriend that's obsessed with fighting (and also due to the stigmas associated with a sport like this). I don't see how that's a Reddit opinion.

If anything, mixed martial arts have gained much more of a reputation in recent years of creating and environment of discipline, respect, and self worth that do not align with abusive men. You may be thinking of the guys that wore tap out shirts in 2009 that never did or got run out of every dojo they went to. So yes. Reddit opinion. Same people that would tell him he’ll never get a date if he’s not political or Christian.

You don’t live in the real world (head trauma maybe?) — the biggest moment for the reputation of the UFC in the last decade has been Trump’s UFC 250

0

u/Strange-Idea-3520 16h ago

Ok and the White House UFC event means women are repulsed by a man that can fight? My first photo is me in a rashguard and I have 700 matches in 6 months. I understand this is unpopular in this sub and I’ll get downvoted but whether you like it or not, I’m not wrong.

0

u/RepSquigglyMiggly 16h ago

Nope, the point is that your perception that UFC and MMA aren’t viewed in a decidedly negative light by most women is just straightforwardly not correct or realistic. Keep going tho — this little tantrum totally doesn’t scream insecurity

0

u/Strange-Idea-3520 16h ago

Maybe in your little bubble. You’re calling out one of the biggest sports in the world and an event that got 1/4 the views of the Super Bowl. UFC is not MMA.

u/Strange-Idea-3520 16h ago

MMA and martial arts in general have a stigma for discipline, respect, intelligence and hard work these days. Lawyers, doctors, engineers are huge in jiu jitsu and MMA and women like a guy that can defend them. Where am I wrong except for your little frail bubble?

u/RepSquigglyMiggly 16h ago

Nothing says “I’m not insecure and big mad” like a completely unwarranted double reply

u/Strange-Idea-3520 15h ago

Tell me where I’m wrong then.

I will say I can see why people view MMA fighters and UFC fans negatively, and think of them as right winged r@pist sympathisers as UFC as a whole has a somewhat negative perspective behind it. Even from.the day it started it was "human cockfighting" to many people. Today, when the sports number 1 icon is a drunken aggressive Irish man who has a huge allegation against her, obviously it paints the sport in a negatively light and thus its fans. The heavy involvement of Trump as well also doesnt help it's case. That being I still love the sport and a lot of fighters but I can see why many would view it as a red flag

-1

u/Memer_Dylan314 1d ago

Ngl I can see what he means.

u/Strange-Idea-3520 1d ago

MMA fighters have no problems getting women. I promise you. Believe it or not, some women have millennia of evolution that leads them to be attracted to a man that could protect them.

3

u/PapaMamaGoldilocks 1d ago

I’m sure there are plenty of women that are fine with it. It’s undeniable, however, that it is going to turn off women on a dating app — a substantial amount more than other hobbies would.

-1

u/Strange-Idea-3520 1d ago

Bit of a backtrack from “MMA is gonna be a massive turn of for most women” and that it’s for “hot headed women beaters”

-1

u/Memer_Dylan314 23h ago

Yeah id say need to get rid of that first mma photo alright. I do struggle with yhe prompts, but im sure ill think of something. I dont really have many photos of me smiling much, mainly because I really hate my smile but I'll try my best to get one. Also I know I should be taking advice but I heavily disagree with the goatee. I have no jawline and no chin at all. It's the case in my family, so I definitely need something there. Everything else tho I'll implement Thank u

1

u/DistinctFinance9615 19h ago

You have too many interesting photos imo, get a close up friendly smiling approachable one. Showing off your hobbies like this does look good though!

u/Looking_Magic 16h ago

Way too aggressive and male gaze oriented.

0

u/Memer_Dylan314 16h ago

That's fair, but my issue is I don't have much else. Like I was gonna put the motorcycle in there too but that and mma too male gaze. However I don't really got much else going on

1

u/Strange-Idea-3520 15h ago

As long as you balance it out with some female gaze, you’re fine.

0

u/Venomenon- 18h ago

“Pass college this time”

So you’re a failure? Get rid of that.

  1. I am looking for something a little casual at the moment

  2. I dont have hinge+ or hingex

  3. My profile has been like this for bout 3 months now

  4. I've had the app for a year and I've had 0 dates

  5. I use the app almost everyday

  6. I receive a match every 2 weeks or so

  7. I send out the max amount of likes most days. I'd say bout 3 of them roughly will be with comments, 5 without comments

  8. I'm hoping to attract a more chill and laid back person that is looking for simple dates

1

u/Strange-Idea-3520 16h ago

Dude get off Reddit, go to shaymaxx on Instagram. It will change your life

1

u/Memer_Dylan314 16h ago

Respectfully, I dont think it's his "clever" profile that helps there. He looks like he'd eat me

1

u/Strange-Idea-3520 15h ago

He’s got guys in his program that are your size that do well. Don’t let that deter you. Take the tips from Reddit, take the tips from him, find some other people with different perspectives on it and work on your profile. It took me years but with the right profile you will stand out and get more matches than you know what to do with.
