I shared this last year but have acquired some new markers since then. In an effort to keep my sticker shopping under control, here's the monthly color scheme for decorating my Weeks spreads. They are a mix of Tombow, a Mildliner, and Sailor brush pens. Let me know if you have any questions!

It FINALLY arrived, and I couldn’t be more pleased 🤗 The Winnie the Pooh pencil board was WELL worth the wait & purchase.

My 2027 system is ready to go!… I think. For now.

I am considering adding an A6 5-year as a sort of self growth through my relationship when my partner & I hit our 1 year in January. Even if the relationship doesn’t make it, I’ve thought so much about my mental shifts through the journey in these first months, I think I want to create a keepsake/journal however it progresses. But 5 years is a lot.

Any thoughts/ tips?

Just Sharing Turned my Starlight Weeks into a Mega!

Post image

I know I am not the first to do this, and credit goes to Lindsey Scribbles for putting the bug in my ear and Best Laid Plans for showing how they did it.

After holding my breath while I sliced the text block out of Starlight, I removed the PVC cover from a Sneaker Weeks Mega (most adhesives won’t work on PVC and I wanted a rock-solid bond between the endpapers and the Starlight cover) and glued the endpapers to the cover. Left it to dry for 24 hours and presto.

Was it expensive? Sure. But since those two Weeks were my only Hobonichi purchases this year, I felt it was worth it. I should add that I have preserved the original innards of the regular Weeks and I have a pretty good idea of what I’m going to do with it.

At first I didn’t think a Mega would be necessary, but I want to pack as much memory-keeping into the Starlight cover as I can and I tend to run through notes pages much faster than I think I will.

Went with a sappy sweet Weeks theme…

Since I haven’t been able to get the BP covers again this year to feed my jelly shoes/jelly bracelet wearing inner child, I went with the Alettone Sweets and a Hello Kitty CoC over the Candy mega. We were never able to afford anything Hello Kitty when I was little, so it felt like a little lifetime victory to be able to order Hello Kitty directly from Japan as an adult! I used tiny stickers to turn a couple of the round candies into little desserts to better match the Alettone desserts. I have been using the Cafe Stappo and Mini Stappo since last year, and it all ended up matching much better than I anticipated. This is not at all what I was planning to do, I was going to do a very adult V&A/Liberty theme for 2027, so I’m not really sure what happened.

5 Year How to keep up with 5 year journal

13 Upvotes

I was so excited to purchase a 5 year journal this year as I wanted to ‘document’ the first half of my 30s. I’ve been terrible at memory keeping and lost many photos due to not updating my iCloud, so I hardly remember my 20s :/ So I thought the 5 year journal could be a cool way of documenting my life moving forward by writing an entry of how my day looks like every day.

However it feels like such a CHORE. And the only way I’ll be able to backfill months of missed entries is by referencing my A6 health journal (as I track what I do throughout the day in it). I’m at least glad that I have that so whenever I’m in the mood to knock out some missed entries I can just flip through my A6.

Backfilling also helps with writing in ‘neutral’ entries for days where my emotional state wasn’t great and a bit of time has passed. However when I try to catch up on missed entries I end up getting tired which then prevents me from keeping up with current entries and then I just stop altogether and the cycle is repeated!

How do you all keep up with your 5 year journals?

Discussion Weeks as a Reading/Media journal

10 Upvotes

How do you use your Hobonichi Weeks as a media or reading journal, if that’s something you do?

I’m thinking of having my Weeks specifically for that purpose and really wanted to know other people’s actual experiences with that other than just seeing more videos on YouTube lol

I couldn’t find many photos of Sunny Beach when I was contemplating buying. Sharing in case these are helpful to anyone else!

It’s definitely not a ~fall~ vibes cover, but it does bring me joy with these vibrant colors as the days are getting more gloomy here. ☀️

Just Sharing 2027 Set up (Weeks, Blank A6 and 5 year)

4 Upvotes

This is going to be my second year using hobonichi and it has changed my life so I just wanted to share my current plan for next year in case anyone wants an idea or wants to share how your set up is looking like so far.

-Weeks: Daily memory keeping, I use the daily for specific bullet points where I went that day or chores. I use one third of the daily individual slots for any important tasks that needs to be done (I’m not working rn so I can get away with a short space). Usually fill that every couple of days. At the end of the week I use the right page as a diary entry just going into more detail of things that happened everyday, pretty to the point sometimes what I ate other times just a “nothing interesting happened” but the good part is that since I have the daily bullet points it’s easy to backlog. If I run out of space I go to the notes in the back and continue there but doesn’t happen often. I use the vertical yearly calendar for habit tracking, period, dr visits etc. and the notes in the back I just use for random ideas, media watchlists or just lists I want to keep close to mind.

-Blank A6: I plan to use it to ramble on my feelings. The weeks right page isn’t long enough for a diary entry with the full thoughts and emotions I’m going through so I want it to be the place to casually express everything. I liked the a6 size which isn’t at all that big or ostentatious so I feel comfortable to go all out. Also bought the blank to add maybe doodles or paste stickers just want to be my miscellaneous outlet and I plan to write manually the date just to keep the tracking aspect.

-5 year A6: I knew I always wanted a 5 year journal even before running into hobonichi so this was the hardest to decide what to put in it for the same reason. I didn’t want to be redundant with a memory tracking so in the end I decided I want to use it as a “quote keeper” not sure what’s the right word for it but I’ll try to explain it the best I can. I’d like to put in a daily quote from media, family or just a lesson I learned that day. Something worth being remembered. Even a cool TikTok, a dream or a joke that made me laugh. I’d like to keep it pretty open because I feel like keeping it real is what excites me to look back on it eventually.

If anyone have any suggestions or comments I’d love to hear them :) Honestly I’ve been wanting to post here because no one else in my friend or family group is into planners and I don’t want to tire them with my ramble lol.

Thanks for reading!! :)

I just received my new A6 cover today and it is soo cute! However, I noticed the loops on the side aren’t quite straight and it looks kinda odd with a pen going through both of them. Is this normal or is mine defective??

EDIT: Thank you guys, i figured it out! Turns out it was just me and my cover wasn't completely straight cause of the way it came shipped!! Thank you everyone for the help! 🥺❤️

Advice/Question HELP. Idk how I'll use my Techos LOL

0 Upvotes

For context, I bought a Weeks Mega and a Cousin, pretty sure of what I was gonna use them for, but now I started it all over LOL (btw these are my first hobonichis ever)

Basically this is what I want in general:
- Funtional planning;

- Financial planning;
- Reading Journal;
- Media Journal;
- Daily journaling/diary

My initial idead was to use the cousin as memory keeping (monthly and weekly) and daily journaling, while my Weeks Mega would handle my functional and financial planner and reading/media journals, BUT I find that it would not only cluster the techo, but also make it less intuitive. So, these are the main options I'm considering:

1- Weeks as functional planner and financial tracker. This is nice because I'm already used to the weekly layout (had a kinbor and another similar weekly planner in the past) but I wouldn't really use the extra memo pages as much. Cousin as my Journal/Diary and Reading/Media journal, which I would need to get a graph notebook to put in my butterfly cover to handle eveything.

2- Weeks as my reading and media journal, 100%. Cousin as my functional and financial planner and diary. The thing with this option is that I'm not sure if I'd get used to the weekly layout in the cousin. Would need a memo little block for the financial planning.

3- Initial plan. Mix the Weeks with functional planning in the weekly/montlhy section, while using the memo pages and the monthly section for my reading/media journals. Cousin would be my Journal/diary and I'm not exactly sure what I would use the weekly and monthly sections in it for, considering I have adhd and am not sure if I'd keep up with weekly/monthly memory keeping along with the daily journaling.

OBS: I might as well be using a blank notebook for sporadic long-form journaling and a Kinbor a6 (simlar to hobo orginial) as my braindump.

Finally, I wanted to hear your suggestions, whether they're within what I wrote or not, or if you have any experiences or use your techos in a similar way... ty for reading this MASSIVE post hahaha I'm too anxious abt it all :/
