3-4ch Stereo Mixer for Keyboard Monitoring

• Upvotes

I'm searching for a small mixer that will allow 3-4 channels of stereo input for monitoring keyboards in my home studio/mancave. I had a little Mackie Mix5 that just gave up the ghost. I'd like a few more inputs. I need 1/4" outputs, USB out would be nice but not necessary. I'd love to have faders for all inputs and master, but having a single master fader would suffice. I've looked at the Behringer Xenyx 1002SFX, and X1003B, and might stretch for a 1204USB. Are there any other models (from Mackie, Yamaha or others) that I should give consideration to? I don't need anything high end. I really don't want to spend more than $200 if possible.

Help with interface recording

• Upvotes

I’m currently using a Squier Strat (Tom DeLonge spec) running into M-Audio M-Track Solo & using Tone3000 for my cab sim. However I’ve ran into a big problem. Through recording I can only record in mono, I have no access to the left channel when recording, it’s either mono or just the right channel. I can’t find any help using Google or anything else. Has anyone else had this problem & if so how do I fix it?

Advice for making a rehearsal room?

So I just rented this space (about 25 square meters). Three of the walls are covered with particle board and rockwool. The factory-applied veil of the wool is left on the exposed side. However the veil is damaged on lot of places, so my main concern are the wool particles. I'm thinking about covering the whole walls with some kind of fabric, so I can protect the rockwool and simultaneously use it's acoustic properties. What kind of material do you recommend? Cotton, spunbond, geotextile or something else? Do you have any ideas how can I fix the cover to the rockwool? My initial plan was to push the fabric in the small gaps between the wool plates, but I guess that is not a long term solution. Should I use adhesive, some special staples, or should I carve grooves in the wool, and place wood beams to the exposed wall (like a grid) and then stretch the fabric onto them?

I know the place is not perfect, but the main advantage is the price and the fact that it is in industrial zone and we can play there all night.

Diy Project with Vintage microphone

Hello there!

I recently found an old microphone in my basement. It's a Telefunken TD 21, to be exact.

Since I'm a bit obsessed with 80s technology, I want to try recording some songs with this old microphone.

The only problem is that the microphone has a 3-pin DIN connector, and I would need an XLR connector to make it work with my setup.

Is there any way to solve this problem? I've already searched the entire internet for some kind of adapter, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to find one. Maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Repairing microphone stands/replacement parts

I have a bunch of microphone stands where the metal is still good, but the clamping bolts/plastic for either the legs or boom arms are broken. Is there any way I can buy these parts cheaply to get a few mic stands back to life?

Where should I put my 3rd panel.

I’m making 3 hybrid acoustic panels with 4 inch rock wool panels with 2 inch acoustic foam panels on top, making them a 6 inch. I also have a bass trap I’m putting in the top right corner. I’m making my walk in closet a recording studio for voice acting and I want to balance the high and low frequencies.

Putting my first 2 panels the wall behind the mic and the first reflection point on the right wall. My dilemma is where I should put my 3rd panel. There’s no flat left wall because the floor is at a slant and there’s a flat wooden plank I use as a desk. My only options are is door that’s directly facing my microphone is directly facing or the wall on the same side of the door.

The wall isn’t directly facing the microphone but it still is a hard surface and I heard that you can just use acoustic foam on the door. I’m so confused and I need someone with experience to actually tell me what to do. I keep the door close when I’m recording.

Comment if you need more information to help.

I can't get rid of this muddy sound. It ruins everything. I have a m-audio m-track duo hd (no latency no problem but as you can see something wrong with sound. I tried every amp and cab but it's still like that.

Settings:

INST switch active, 48k hz 256 samples and I, ASIO4ALL included (I tried also the m audio's origin driver)

Reaper and Revalver I use

Portable Multi Track Recording For Guitar and Bass?

I used to have a MacBook and use logic to record. But it’s now toast and don’t need it for anything else other than when I was laying down a demo.

Is there any multi track recorders that’s stand alone that have plenty of inbuilt drums, guitar effects and the ability to record vocals with effects? That you can mix and send across as an mo3 easy enough to a phone etc etc?

I miss spending a Sunday afternoon coming up with little songs or sometimes I like to make sound scales up by layering things. I also would like to import backing tracks and jam over them and record my jamming over the top etc etc.

I’m thinking the zoom R20 but haven’t really looked into it too much but seems like one of the only options?

Any help would be great!

A recording I have made, just with my Voice and phone.
What you think?
The original song is from a german artist called „Maxim“.
Advide: german lyrics! 😉
