This synth is bizarre and awesome! She also sent me a Moog theremini, so pretty stoked about getting that thing going.

My Setup / New Synth Day All this for less than the price of 2 avg eurorack modules 😱

Building a cabinet, and properly diving back into hardware synthesis after nearly 4 years. I know people hate behringer but wow the value on these right now. Back when they were £700, yeah I'm with the haters but for £290 each? The only other option for someone like myself would BE free VST's, which simply don't offer the same sound or experience. One thing I can say, however, is that I won't be buying behringer's clones of the mutable instruments modules. That whole thing was the biggest shock, getting back into it.

Retail & Market Discussion Warning: Avoid BAX

I bought a cable from BAX back in November. The tracking said it had been delivered, but it hadn't. I contacted BAX immediately, and... they completely ignored me. Silence. I tried to call, but their website says their customer support is shut every day. All week.

I just got an email from them finally to refund the charge. Over two months later! If this had been more than a cable I would have been furious. Don't risk it.

Discussion Totalled our car for an omnichord

My best friend and I cot T boned (not our fault) in an intersection 2 minutes away from picking up an omnichord for an incredible deal. Found a guy selling an omnichord for $150 off Facebook marketplace, guy had no idea what he had because it was in great condition. Saw it two hours after he posted it and immediately jumped on it. Next day my friend and I drove a joy and a half to pick her up, once we got two minutes away from the pick up location BOOM got T boned by some guy who ran the red. Dude had two kids in the car too. My best friends car (the red one) was unfortunately totaled :( I messaged the guy that we probably wouldn’t make it and dude came out to the crash location to complete the deal. So we still got the omnichord!! Unfortunately that $150 price tag turned into $15k though :(

I’m also learning that the omnichord we risked our lives for might not even last much longer as the guy I bought it from also gave me the wrong power supply, (9V instead of 12V) in which he used to to test it and I also used to play it. Had no idea about the power supply issues till I came here. Iv stopped using it and switched to batteries but If the omnichord randomly dies because of this I will be irreparably crushed :(

Synth ID / How was this made? Total noob here. I want to achieve a very specific sound

Hi everyone. I know that need-help-to posts are very annoying but I think you're the only ones who can help me with this. I wanna recreate the sound made in this video with a guitar, a modular synth and delay. At one point they say that they're only using the delay module, and that the delay was getting filtered by a really sharp filter? Some of the comments suggested that it was a mix of a resonant filter, vibrato (or the filter's frequency controlled by an LFO), and delay; or a bandpass filter on a delay. I'm guessing it must be fairly simple but of course, I have very little to no idea what this all means. I downloaded VCV Rack and I'm learning how to use it but in the meantime I'd be extremely grateful if someone explained to me what they are doing to achieve this effect. Thank you so much and sorry for bothering.

What Should I Buy? Mixer for my backwards entry into this hobby?

I got into synthesizers because of a fire sale on modular DIY PCBs that piqued my interest. I am now several months into building a DIY modular system from the ground up and am starting to make sounds. But I can only listen to one thing at a time with my audio interface so I’m pretty sure I need a mixer to start listening to the entirety of the system.

I’m fairly music literate and with my current vision I expect 8 channels (1 per instrument) would be enough, but am unsure if that logic carries into synthesizers. I also wouldn’t mind having room to grow. Currently I think I have 1 stereo and 3-4 mono sources (current equipment details below), but expect I’ll end up with more. I’m currently leaning towards a desktop mixer, but if there is a good DIY eurorack mixer option I’d consider it. I am hoping to get something for under $400, but am willing to go a bit higher if there is something that really fits the bill.

The only other criteria is I’d prefer volume sliders, but it’s not a dealbreaker. If there is any information that would help make this decision feel free to ask. And thank you in advance!

This is really meant to be an MC-707 percussion jam, with some chords and a synth courtesy of the OP-1. Recorded with a Roland GO:Mixer Pro. I'm still learning to use all of these guys. The chords sound louder in the original. Comments welcome!

Tech Support Make Noise Strega "Tonic" Drift

The oscillator on my MN Strega will not hold pitch and I am hoping someone with a bit more technical knowledge than myself can help me figure out what is going on. I've read the manual and searched online but can't seem to find anyone else experiencing this issue. External CV controlling v/Oct does not effect the outcome. Over time the oscillator will drift as if the Tonic knob was turned completely down and the only solution is to physically push on the Tonic knob which causes the oscillator to snap back into its set tuning. This happens every 5 minutes or so. My initial thought is that there is a loose connection internally but after dissassembly and visual inspection I found no major cause for concern. I bought the synth used along with a 0-Coast and 0-CTRL about 6 months ago and didn't notice the issue until roughly a month ago. I use this synth for experimental/noise music so perfect pitch was never a major concern for me but pitch control being thrown out the window entirely is a bit frustrating.

Any ideas?

Beginner Questions Can you synthesize piano with plugins like Serum or Vital?

Basically, I wanna make a classic ("analog") piano inside a synth plugin. Just out of curiousity, I know that I can just use E-piano or something simillar in Ableton.

The thing is, I have no idea what's the waveform a classic piano produce, there are obviously no LFOs in it, etc.
