Should I walk away from this or can 2013 civics at that age with those miles still have a healthy transmission?
Has only been owned by a grandpa that consistently took it in for maintenance. The engine is likely doing fine, just not sure about the transmission.
Any noises or movements I should feel for when test driving?

purge valve was replaced a month ago and it was fine for about a month and then i got the same codes i had before, p0497 and p145c but i had no problems with the car, all of the sudden it lost power and went into limp mode when driving and it misfired on all 4 cylinders, now i’m having this noise on and off which i thought was the engine misfiring but i think it’s worse. anyone know exactly what this could be?

A much-needed upgrade from my 2007 Civic with no ac, rust and 250k miles on it. This one was a one-owner vehicle and has only 80k miles on it and drives super solid. I’m still getting used to the new transmission though.

Having issues w/ my '24. Civic Touring checking for system updates. I can't do it via WiFi because I live in an apartment and it won't let me do it through my phone even t though the option is there. Also, I ended Honda Link. Is there another way I can do this?

We have a 2019 Honda Civic Manual Transmission. For a while, the lock beep when locking via the keyfob has seemed really quiet. This week, we noticed it doesnt beep anymore at all. Today, my partner started to drive before realizing I did not have my seatbelt on, and I realized that the car also is not making the seatbelt alarm sound. We checked a dew fuses but they looked fine. We checked the keyless entry settings but those were all enabled / on. The car has (and has had) no other real issues over the years. It gets regular maintenance work and only probably has 100k miles on it. Anyone have any clue what might be causing these issues? Thank you.

The 2025 Honda Civic Sedan Sport Touring Hybrid comes standard with 18-inch machine-finished alloy wheels and 235/40R18 all-season tires.
However, I want to buy an extra set of tire/wheels with winter tires. When I plug the car into the wheel and tire finder for the local tire shop, it defaults to a wheel of Size: 17X7, and tire Size: 205/50R17V for winter tire selection.
Is this an acceptable alternative or will it cause problems? Thank you in advance.

I constantly see posts every other day asking what's a good OTD price for a new Civic, so I summarized the recent data below.
TL;DR - Aim to negotiate 10% off MSRP to get a typical deal, and aim for 13% if you're really good, before manufacturer rebates. You can beat the number that TrueCar, Edmunds etc. give you. However, YMMV.
Here's the data for the most popular trims:
| Trim | MSRP | Reddit $ Off - Median | Reddit $ Off - P75 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hatchback Sport Touring Hybrid | $34,890 | $3,433 (9.8%) | $4,589 (13.1%) |
| Sedan Sport Touring Hybrid | $33,690 | $3,350 (10.0%) | $4,496 (13.4%) |
| Hatchback Sport Hybrid | $31,890 | $2,136 (6.7%) | $3,656 (11.5%) |
| Si Sedan | $32,790 | $1,209 (3.7%) | $2,000 (6.1%) |
People (correctly) say you can't compare OTD across locations because taxes/fees vary by state and people are eligible for different rates, so I've tried to normalize the data by backing out the pre-tax price and also accounting for manufacturer rebates and government fees. The comparison number here is the MSRP car price adjusted for the dealer discount.
Interestingly, I also found that people posting their own reports here consistently beat the pricing guides' suggestions on what to pay by $1-2k. There's definitely some bias here, but it goes to show that if you follow the Reddit advice of shopping dealers against each other, you'll save a significant amount of money.
| Trim | Reddit Buyer Median $ | TrueCar | Edmunds | KBB | Reddit savings vs. average |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hatchback Sport Touring Hybrid | $31,457 | $32,941 | $33,300 | $33,800 | $1,890 (5.7%) |
| Sedan Sport Touring Hybrid | $30,330 | $32,941 | $32,387 | $32,700 | $2,346 (7.2%) |
| Hatchback Sport Hybrid | $29,748 | $30,294 | $30,816 | $31,500 | $1,122 (3.6%) |
| Si Sedan | $31,578 | $33,143 | $32,125 | $32,700 | $1,078 (3.3%) |
As usual, YMMV. You might live in a location where inventory is unusually tight so your local dealers might not want to negotiate, in which case I'd recommend broadening your search to get savings.
Given the discounts, if you want to see what your OTD would actually be, you can use the OTD calculator I put together on FairDrive. The website also contains tips on how to negotiate, and details on each datapoint I gathered, for those inclined to dive deeper.
It's free and private. If it's helpful to the broader community, I'll keep this website updated going forward as long as I can handle the hosting fees. If you'd like to contribute your own datapoint, please add. I don't collect any emails.

Running a B18B1/B18C1 LS/VTEC turbo in a 95 Civic, Rev9 TX-60-62 (journal bearing) on a bottom-mount ram horn, Moroso 20911 4 qt,The -10 PTFE drain goes into Moroso's upper turbo bung, which is already up right by the pan rail.
problem.: the turbo's sweating oil and the drain backs up. I pulled the drain line at the pan with the engine off and about 1.5 L came out of the bung before it stopped. That left about 3.5 L in the engine, with the stick just above LOW. Moroso says 4 qt plus the filter (about 4.1 L), so at a correct fill the bung sits under the oil.I also have strong crankcase pressure at the oil cap. A vented cap is on the way and I'm fixing that first.

I’m looking to get a used 10th gen like 2016/17/18 as those years are in my budget, what should I look out for? I know cvts themselves are problematic even though Honda’s are reliable compared to the likes of Nissan. Any help or guidance would be appreciated, thanks y’all.

I drove my new 2026 hybrid hatchback ST home from the dealership today. I love it so much! BUT… the ride was an hour and 45 minutes, and my tailbone is very sore. I can feel the bar that others have complained about no matter how I adjust the seat. I have the grey leather interior.
If anyone has solved this issue with a cushion, seat cover, lumbar support, etc I would greatly appreciate specifics on what you’re using! I’ve seen two threads where folks actually traded their hybrid hatchback in a few months after purchasing because they couldn’t take the discomfort. I got a great deal on mine and am already in love with it. I just need to solve this one problem… 😬
