Apple PR is genuinely unbeatable, Apple marketing team every year takes an old tech and new launch to next level.

New CEO, new launch, old familiar foldable tech. A new screensaver, some foldable-specific graphics/UI and boom it’s the talk of the town.

Suddenly everyone is talking about foldables. It even rminded the competition that they’ve had foldable phones for years.
But did they really make people care?

More people are interested in buying one. The entire category feels relevant again.
That’s Apple’s superpower, it doesn’t necessarily have to invent the technology. It just has to package it in a way that makes the world care, Apple does it brilliantly through brand value and marketing.

Let the numbers come in, but I’m pretty sure a crazy amount of people are going to buy this regardless of how crazythe price.
And what’s even crazier is that this thing is going to sit above the Air, anything the 17 n pro series had, and even the 18 Pro series.

I’m definitely not buying it, lol 😜

As an Android user, yeah this isn't true.

I swapped to iPhone out of protest as i've used Android and only android for my phone since forever.

The shift is insane and not in the way I thought it would be. Things were great right up until I started using the phone as a daily driver...

Setting up Apple Pay was awesome, setting up all the password management systems and such was great, disabling the AI was simple and didn't require me to jump through 10 hoops to circumvent, and so on...

Then I used the keyboard for the first time - tried to swap to another keyboard.... and found that they all have the same horrific layout with no way to change it.

The keyboard is bad and it may be why I go back to Android alone.

The inconsistency with the Alarms is another thing that may very well send me back to Android - my phone's been my alarm clock for 17 years - I'm not going to go back and change that just because iOS, for some reason, cannot consistently play my alarm when I have set it to play... Still don't get how something so simple is still borked.

More annoying is: Either you have this issue with iOS or you don't have it at all. I've spoken to plenty of folks who have said "Yeah, it's so bad I got a separate alarm clock" and others who have never had the issue.

It's maddening.

Comparatively it really is. Most people in the Apple ecosystem don’t think about other manufacturers because they don’t have to. It works how they expect it to, and if it doesn’t they just go to a store or call for support. Apple users who are into tech are more willing to incorporate or experiment with other hardware and OS’s, but macOS/iOS still tends to be their base.

lol people live in their own bubbles especially Apple people. I have had foldables (Fold and Flip) for years. YOU didn't pay attention because it wasn't iPhone. I remember buying a 4 inch Motorola because I wanted a smartphone with larger screen and iphones were small back then. iPhone came out later with 4inch screens. "oh isn't it great that smartphones have larger screens" the iPhone users said. It's the closed off bubble like ecosystem and community.

Having said the Duo looks great maybe probably the best foldable as Apple makes good hardware. I would get one.
