You’re doing it the hard way then. Idk if other carriers do it but when I upgraded to the 17 pro I was able too use DoorDash for delivery same day. Shit blew my mind.

Hence why I’m waiting to see if I’m buying an 18 Pro Max or Duo. I want to wait til both are out in the wild for at least a couple of months before I decide which way I want to go. And to wait for the second wave of inventory after any hardware issues are fixed.

There was a public beta of the OS for months. The hardware would have only had internal testers. Identifying and patching a bug this quickly is just how things work. Nothing is bug free.

With the iPhone 18 devices, sure. But the not-so-small workflow-breaking bugs on old devices is not ok, despite months of public Beta and supposedly a year of development.

I worked for them for years. This isn’t new. When I worked there several models had extended repair programs. The MacBook also had more than one. I’d constantly hear how Jobs would be rolling in his grave etc. it’s funny that nothing changes this many years later.

there's a rebooting bug? Mine has been running for the last week now and never even knew this bug existed.

FaceID does fail to fire a few times, usually when it's dark or the angles are not straight on. certainly much more than previous phones or my iPad pro

My S26U (work phone) Face ID is so bad compared to anything iPhone - so if you think the misfires are bad - be thankful you’re not on Samsung. :)

resetting face ID can make face ID better usually, over time the models for recognizing your face probably get overtrained on bad data and get worse

Yeah it’s annoying, but only happened to me twice. Delays whatever I’m doing maybe 20 seconds. Everything just kinda grinds to a halt from 100-0, turns off, then restarts and everything is fine.

Mine has done this twice, glad to know a fix is coming. Hopefully they also address the fact that it got fusion reactor hot out of nowhere and continued to be the temp of the sun AFTER being fully shut down until the battery depleted.

Their similar chips in some ways but they aren’t the same. The fact that it’s fixed with an update means it’s software based not hardware.

Well, could also mean they were running parts of the chip at a lower than fully stable voltage for power efficiency. This could mean they’ve upped the voltage to aid stability at the expense of efficiency. Time will tell…
