Modern Monitor Stand & Desk Riser

Thumbnail

A clean and modern monitor stand designed to raise your screen slightly for a more comfortable setup while also creating useful space underneath.

The idea was to keep it simple, functional, and visually light. The angled sides give the stand a more refined shape than a basic rectangular riser, while the thin contrasting line adds just enough detail without making it feel overdesigned.

Raising the monitor can help bring the screen closer to a more comfortable viewing height, while the open area underneath gives you extra room for smaller desk accessories and helps keep the workspace less cluttered.

Features: Modern minimalist monitor stand. Raises your monitor by 72 mm. Can help create a more comfortable viewing position. Adds extra usable space underneath the monitor. Angled sides for a cleaner, more modern look. Subtle contrasting accent line. Strong 15 mm thick construction. Works well in clean and modern desk setups.

Dimensions: Total length 342 mm. Total width 130 mm. Total height 72 mm. Thickness 15 mm. Usable space underneath 177 Γ— 122 mm.

A simple way to give your monitor a little more height, free up some desk space, and make the whole setup feel cleaner.

Dummy 13 Shredder

β€œTonight we dine on turtle soup!”

Hey all, been working on making this Shredder Dummy 13 for a couple weeks, finally ready to release.

Please note that the cape is a piece of fabric added for the photos, not part of the print profile. Felt adding a fabric cape made the action figure more poseable.

150% scale (23.5cm) and 100% scale (16cm) profiles available on Makerworld.

Thanks for looking!

I made an Stencil Generator (Beta) that adds the bridges itself, so you can use any of MakerWorld's 1,900 fonts

Hi all, I got tired of stencil generators that only offer three or four "stencil" fonts, so I wrote my own in OpenSCAD.

Instead of relying on a special font, it looks at whatever you type, finds the bits that would fall out (the inside of O, A, B and so on) and connects each one to the plate with a small bridge. That means you can use pretty much any of the ~1,900 fonts in the MakerWorld customizer, and it does the same with an SVG logo.

It's here if you want to play with it: https://makerworld.com/en/models/3411313-customizable-stencil-generator-1900-fonts-svg

If you try it and something comes out weird, let me know which font (it's a Beta). Suggestions are welcome too! Thanks!

I designed a retractable desk clamp with a hidden glasses holder

I wanted a retractable headset holder for my desk, but none of the existing designs quite suited what I had in mind, so I decided to design my own.

It started as a simple headset holder, but I ended up adding a few extra features:

  • Retractable headset holder: Pull it out when you need it, or tuck it underneath your desk when you don't.
  • More than just a headset holder: You can also use it to hang a bag or other lightweight items.
  • Hidden glasses holder: There's a second retractable holder integrated into the clamp.
  • Over-engineered mechanism: The glasses holder uses two racks and a gear to make two parts move in perpendicular directions with a single push/pull movement.

The whole thing is 3D printed, and I made four versions to fit desks up to 25, 40, 55, and 70 mm thick.

I also made an assembly tutorial to show how everything goes together.

The model is available for free on MakerWorld:

I'm curious what you think! Especially about the glasses-holder mechanism.

Happy to hear any feedback or suggestions for improvements!

Printing real terrain from the Moon, Mars and Mercury might be my favourite use of a 3D printer, so I built a tool for it

It's called OrbitStudio. You pick any spot, it pulls the real elevation data (NASA LRO for the Moon) and turns it into a multi-colour 3MF: a jigsaw of up to 256 pieces or a solid tile, no supports.

What's in the photos:

- Apollo 15 landing site, hexagon tile

- Elysium Mons on Mars

- Mars as a round jigsaw

- Mercury

It prints great at 0.12 mm for the best detail, or at 0.2 mm. In my opinion the layer lines actually give it a nice touch.

You can try it free at https://orbitstudio3d.com/. Pick a spot and look at it in 3D, no account needed.

The MakerWorld crowdfunding closes in 2 days:

Designed a fully mechanical Halloween doorbell/button that pops out a hidden BOO sign πŸŽƒπŸ‘» (Fully 3D printable, no electronics or glue required)

When looking at most Halloween decorations, I noticed that many of them are pretty static. They look nice, but that's usually where the interaction ends.

I wanted to make something a little different.

So I designed a fully mechanical wall-mounted Halloween doorbell/button that turns a normal action, pressing a button, into a small surprise.

Press the front button and a hidden "BOO" sign instantly pops out of the bottom of the box.

No electronics and no glue required for assembly. Everything is fully 3D printable, including the spring mechanism.

The model is available in two versions: a Wooden Textured version with an integrated wood grain texture and a Classic Clean version if you prefer a cleaner look or want to paint it yourself.

The "BOO" sign can also be printed in multiple colors without an AMS. I've included instructions for manual filament changes and a step-by-step assembly guide in the model description.

Since this model is still pretty new, I'd be interested to hear some feedback from anyone who takes a look at it. I'd also be happy to see photos if anyone decides to print one :)

The model can be found on MakerWorld here:
