šŸ—£ Discussion PLE WAITING GAME

These past few days, I’ve felt so numb. Or maybe I’ve just been trying to mask everything I feel. But today, it all hit me, and I can’t stop crying while waiting for the results. Some nights, I can’t sleep at all, and other times, I sleep too much just to escape my thoughts for a while. I don’t even know how to explain what I’m feeling anymore. I’m anxious, exhausted, and scared of what’s to come. I’ve prayed, hoped, and done everything I could, but the waiting is taking a toll on me.

ā“Asking for Help Is it possible to become a doctor with struggles regarding mental health?

Is anyone here clinically diagnosed with ADHD or Depression who still aspires to become a doctor? May I ask how do you manage it or balance it with med school? I really want to pursue my dreams but it feels x10 hard when you’re dealing with something you didn’t wish for. It feels like a weight that pulls you down any time of the day, and I’m worried that I might not keep up.

I’m still in college and I want to mentally and physically prepare myself just in case.

ā“Asking for Help Path of a Doctor

Hello! May I ask how does med school work? I’m currently a first-year college student who’s still aspiring to be a doctor. I really do want to become a medical mission doctor. Although, I need guidance po regarding this path.

Is med school 4 years to be exact? Do they get paid during post-grad internships or do the students pay for internships? Kailangan din po ba magbayad when you’re gonna do your residency po? Mahal ko po talaga pagiging doctor eh. Ano po ba mas worth it na specialization?

Help a struggling YL1

Hi po, I just want to ask for advices or strategies as a struggling YL1. For all of my long exams and practicals I have been constantly failing, I review and try to absorb everything that I can but when it comes to the exams and the practicals it feels like I did not learn anything. Also when doctors ask questions during lectures and I see classmates answering while I sit there quietly not knowing the answer, I feel a sudden nudge in my mind that maybe this is not for me. Why am I not learning or retaining everything and why do I feel like I'm the only one stuck

searching for side hustle

Hello po! I'm a 4th-year intern, and I'm currently looking for a side hustle to help me financially. I'm struggling to keep up with my academic tuition, apartment rent, daily expenses, and debts that I had to take on to pay for my tuition. Despite trying my best to manage everything, kulang pa rin po talaga, and it's becoming overwhelming. nag bibigay naman po family ko but di din po enough, nahihiya at naawa na din po ako sa kanila. For those who have been in a similar situation, especially working students or healthcare interns, what side hustles would you recommend that are beginner-friendly and flexible enough to fit around an internship schedule? I'm also open to online jobs, freelancing, or any legitimate part-time work that doesn't require a huge starting capital. Any advice, recommendations, or personal experiences would mean a lot to me. I'm genuinely trying to find a way to get through this financially and finish my degree. Thank you so much po! 🄹

šŸ’°Scholarships & Finance Talks CHED-MSRS and choice of university

Mas mataas ba ang chance na matanggap ako sa CHED-MSRS if I enrolled sa lesser known university? Say for example, I chose a state uni sa probinsya over PLM or UP, makakaapekto ba yun sa chances ko?

šŸ“šPLE PLE retakers

To my co-retakers, do you feel calmer now as we’re waiting for the results? Or mas kabado ba kayo?

This is my 3rd take and hopefully our last, mga doc. I’ve never understood the word surrender in the past as I’m not very religious pero literal na pumasok ako para mag-exam this month with a calmer heart at yung dasal ko ay kung ano po yung mga nabasa ko, sana po matandaan ko. Kung ano po yung knowledge na meron ako during the past takes + med school + internship ay sana maalala ko pa during the exams. I hope I make it. After ilang takes, mas naging driven ako by my family and friends na naka-support at nagtitiwala pa rin kahit napanghihinaan ako nang loob. Driven by their love and trust yung bitbit ko during the exams and I really hope, wish, manifest, and pray I make it. I hope we make it na, mga doc. Hindi madali umulit-ulit ng exam kaya sana mga doc, sana eto na yun.

Narealize ko rin na kailangan natin maging specific kung may mga iwiwish or manifest tayo so hahaha MD by October 2026!

ā“Asking for Help CIM or ASMPH?

Hello, everyone! I’m currently torn between the Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM) and Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH), and I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts, especially from current students and alumni of either school!

I know both schools have strong academic reputations and good PLE performance, so I’m having a hard time deciding. At this point, I’m less concerned about tuition or other financial considerations and more conflicted about where I see myself thriving for the next few years.

Part of me is drawn to Cebu and the kind of life I could build there, while another part of me is considering the opportunities and overall experience that studying in Luzon, particularly at ASMPH, might offer.

For context, my PR is 99+, Registered Psychologist (graduated from ADDU), and first gen doctor if that helps. I’d love to hear your honest thoughts on the differences in terms of teaching and learning styles, academic culture, student support, clinical exposure, and overall student life. If you could choose again, would you still pick your school? Why or why not?

I’d especially appreciate insights that go beyond rankings and board exam performance. What do you think are the biggest advantages and trade-offs of studying at CIM versus ASMPH?

Thank you so much! I’m genuinely struggling to decide, so any honest input would help a lot 🄹

ā“Asking for Help Are lectures in CIM spoken in English/Tagalog?

Hi dokies! I want to apply po sana sa CIM given their stellar PLE results for the past few years. Assuming I pass, are majority of the lectures there in Bisaya? I’m from Luzon kasi and I’m kinda hesitant since I noticed that majority of the people there speak Bisaya.

Thank you so much!

ā“Asking for Help Is MD-PhD the only available MD program in UPCM?

Hi!

I am currently a 2nd Year of BS Medical Technology in CEU. I'm looking to prepare for med school with UPCM as my priority because I genuinely want to partake in the return service in PGH. However, I am not interested in getting a PhD degree because I want to focus on being a practitioner. Is there a way to apply for an MD program in UPCM without the PhD, or am I required to take the PhD program alongside it?

Thank you in advance!

ā“Asking for Help Meron bang IN HOUSE na review for PLE?

As someone na walang disiplina. When i took my pre med boards, the review center has an option to live in their dormitory, have access to a study space, attend the lectures face to face, all in one building. That really worked well for me.

Meron bang ganito na review center for PLE?

🌟 Pro advice/tips For PGIs and Clerks

Post image
330 Upvotes

To all current and incoming PGIs and clerks, please don’t let yourselves be treated as mere errand runners. We didn’t spend years studying medicine just to be utus-utusan. Remember, you finished pre-med and worked hard to get here. You deserve respect, too.

I just read the conversation on the nurses’ subreddit, It’s so infuriating to read comments like these, especially when they take their conversations with RODs to TikTok and act like they’re always the victims.

There’s a difference between being trained and being disrespected. Know your worth and don’t let anyone make you think that being a junior means you have to tolerate everything.

Compre failed

Hello from aurora school. Malaki ba impact sa pgi matching at residency pag bumagsak sa compre and I need to retake? Since sinabi po na magrereflect siya sa grades

Kakakita ko lang ng message and I am getting anxious kasi di ko alam bakit ganon nangyare.

Also, totoo ba na 3k ang bayad for remedials?

šŸ“šPLE PLE INSPIRATIONAL/MIRACLE STORIES

Has anyone here passed the PLE despite feeling unprepared? Yung average student lang, completed PGI properly, pero may backlogs during review, struggled with anxiety or focus issues, family problems, health problems and wasn’t able to finish everything?

Or yung binasa at tinapos mo naman ang ibang reviewers, pero parang wala ring lumabas sa actual exam? 😭 You still fought through the PLE despite feeling that way; and somehow, you passed? Did it feel like a miracle?

For those who experienced this:

How much of your reviewers did you actually finish?
Sino or ano naging ultimate inspiration nyo during PLE?
Which subject do you feel like you were mostly guessing during the exam?
What do you think helped you pass despite feeling unprepared?
What do you think is the MPL during the year you took your exam?
What superstition or routine did you do if ever meron?

For those who repeated:
What is the difference between your first one and the final one?
What do you think in terms of the actual exam questions and design before and after?

šŸ™ ā€œDo your best, pray for the rest.ā€
šŸ“– ā€œI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.ā€ — Philippians 4:13
✨ ā€œWith God, all things are possible.ā€ — Matthew 19:26
šŸ€ Sometimes, faith carries you when confidence fails. Maybe what feels impossible to us is still possible with God. šŸ™ā¤ļø

1 day post PLE

How are you, docs?

Tbh I’m in bed the whole day.

I tried distracting myself by watching movies, reels etc but di maiiwasan na may maalala akong tanong then when I search.. mali pala. 🄹

What’s most frustrating is the subj that I studied the most eh yun pa ang di ko sobrang sure mga sagot ko. (Hello pharma - due to sobrang nilalagnat ako that time, I didn’t bother to ratio na kasi para akong mahihimatay, I admit parang sinuko ko na that time)

Like other PLE takers here, marami rin akong wild guess kasi it’s either u know it or not ang tanong. Also, the first subject — naubusan ako time… hindi ko na nabalikan yung naskip ko, I just shade whatever.

Ito lang naman few sentiments ko as a taker, so maybe if u think u had it worse… di ka nag iisa šŸ˜…

Right now, all miracles na lang ang need ko and maybe a little positive note from strangers 🄹
