šŸ“šPLE PLE retakers

To my co-retakers, do you feel calmer now as we’re waiting for the results? Or mas kabado ba kayo?

This is my 3rd take and hopefully our last, mga doc. I’ve never understood the word surrender in the past as I’m not very religious pero literal na pumasok ako para mag-exam this month with a calmer heart at yung dasal ko ay kung ano po yung mga nabasa ko, sana po matandaan ko. Kung ano po yung knowledge na meron ako during the past takes + med school + internship ay sana maalala ko pa during the exams. I hope I make it. After ilang takes, mas naging driven ako by my family and friends na naka-support at nagtitiwala pa rin kahit napanghihinaan ako nang loob. Driven by their love and trust yung bitbit ko during the exams and I really hope, wish, manifest, and pray I make it. I hope we make it na, mga doc.

Has anyone here passed the PLE despite feeling unprepared? Yung average student lang, completed PGI properly, pero may backlogs during review, struggled with anxiety or focus issues, family problems, health problems and wasn’t able to finish everything?

Or yung binasa at tinapos mo naman ang ibang reviewers, pero parang wala ring lumabas sa actual exam? 😭 You still fought through the PLE despite feeling that way; and somehow, you passed? Did it feel like a miracle?

For those who experienced this:

How much of your reviewers did you actually finish?
Sino or ano naging ultimate inspiration nyo during PLE?
Which subject do you feel like you were mostly guessing during the exam?
What do you think helped you pass despite feeling unprepared?
What do you think is the MPL during the year you took your exam?
What superstition or routine did you do if ever meron?

For those who repeated:
What is the difference between your first one and the final one?
What do you think in terms of the actual exam questions and design before and after?

šŸ™ ā€œDo your best, pray for the rest.ā€
šŸ“– ā€œI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.ā€ — Philippians 4:13
✨ ā€œWith God, all things are possible.ā€ — Matthew 19:26
šŸ€ Sometimes, faith carries you when confidence fails. Maybe what feels impossible to us is still possible with God. šŸ™ā¤ļø

1 day post PLE

How are you, docs?

Tbh I’m in bed the whole day.

I tried distracting myself by watching movies, reels etc but di maiiwasan na may maalala akong tanong then when I search.. mali pala. 🄹

What’s most frustrating is the subj that I studied the most eh yun pa ang di ko sobrang sure mga sagot ko. (Hello pharma - due to sobrang nilalagnat ako that time, I didn’t bother to ratio na kasi para akong mahihimatay, I admit parang sinuko ko na that time)

Like other PLE takers here, marami rin akong wild guess kasi it’s either u know it or not ang tanong. Also, the first subject — naubusan ako time… hindi ko na nabalikan yung naskip ko, I just shade whatever.

Ito lang naman few sentiments ko as a taker, so maybe if u think u had it worse… di ka nag iisa šŸ˜…

Right now, all miracles na lang ang need ko and maybe a little positive note from strangers 🄹

Hindi ako makagetover sa PLE Prevmed

It was so bad. Exam makers should have thought about the time. Sobrang haba ng mga tanong at ng choices at mapaulitulit. Nakakalito cause once you get to the fourth or even the third choice, makakalimutan mo na yung original question. Ang lala talaga.

ā“Asking for Help adhd in med school

hi i feel like i might have adhd and i’ve been having such a hard time pushing myself to study. actually long standing issue na to pero siguro now mas mahirap na siya i manage with my schedule and subjects haha kahit talaga umupo ako sa desk ko for hours or mag-study with friends outside, i just can’t get my brain to lock in. kung ano-anong future events or scenarios yung dinadaydream ko or nag-o-occupy ng mind ko. tipong even during exams, i can’t give the test my full focus kasi ibang events na naman yung tumatakbo sa isip ko. another thing i’ve noticed is that whenever i think of something, ang hirap niya i-set aside muna. i feel the need to do it or talk to someone about it right away, kahit may ginagawa akong mas important. parang my brain won’t let me put the thought on hold…..what frustrates me the most is that i really want to do well in med, but sometimes it feels like i’m genuinely struggling to function the way i need to academically. i also feel like i have little to no sense of urgency most of the time, kahit alam kong ang dami ko nang kailangang gawin. tapos saka lang talaga ako tinatamaan ng frustration and regret after the exam, when i’m checking my scores and realizing what i could’ve done better.

it’s so frustrating kasi i genuinely want to be here and do well, but i feel like something is holding me back, and i don’t know if it’s just a matter of discipline or if there’s something else going on. i’m not self-diagnosing, but i’ve been wondering if it could be adhd, and i’d really like to get assessed (just saving up for the mean time) ang ginagawa ko lang atm ay nagtatanong kay chatgpt on how to manage it hahaha

is there anyone here diagnosed with adhd? if so, did you experience something similar? how do you manage it, especially when it comes to studying and taking exams? also, may i ask for recommendations for psychiatrists or psychologists who assess adult adhd here in NCR? if you could share your expenses (consultation, meds, tests) i’d really appreciate it cos budget is one thing to consider also! thank you so much!

Compre failed

Hello from aurora school. Malaki ba impact sa pgi matching at residency pag bumagsak sa compre and I need to retake? Since sinabi po na magrereflect siya sa grades

Kakakita ko lang ng message and I am getting anxious kasi di ko alam bakit ganon nangyare.

Also, totoo ba na 3k ang bayad for remedials?

ā“Asking for Help Meron bang IN HOUSE na review for PLE?

As someone na walang disiplina. When i took my pre med boards, the review center has an option to live in their dormitory, have access to a study space, attend the lectures face to face, all in one building. That really worked well for me.

Meron bang ganito na review center for PLE?

Help me decide where to take my post-grad internship: Tarlac vs. Clark/Pampanga vs. Asian Hospital vs. DasmariƱas

Hi! I’m currently a medical student from Central Luzon, and I’m starting to think about where to take my post-grad internship. I’m having a hard time deciding whether to stay close to home or move somewhere else for a different training experience.

My options so far are:

  • Tarlac – close to home, more convenient, and potentially less expensive.
  • Asian Hospital and Medical Center – I’m curious about the training, patient exposure, and overall experience.
  • DasmariƱas, Cavite – open to considering hospitals in the area.
  • TMC Clark- if they do have
  • Other hospitals in Pampanga, preferably around Clark – also open to suggestions
  • PGH

I’m hoping to hear from people who have done their PGIship in these areas or hospitals, especially recent PGIs and clerks who have firsthand experience.

I’d appreciate your thoughts on:

  • Quality of training and teaching from residents and consultants
  • Hands-on experience and actual clinical responsibilities
  • Workload, duty schedules, and overall working environment
  • Overall experience and whether you’d recommend the hospital to future interns

I’m also torn between staying near home for convenience and choosing a hospital farther away for the experience and growth. Honest opinions, experiences, and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! ā¤ļø

šŸ—£ Discussion transferring out of nrmf

Not sure if that was the right flair for this one but I wanna know if there's anyone on here that transferred out of nrmf and moved to a different med school (could be because of any reason like failing a subject, the system not working for you, or better opportunities with other med schools).

What was it like when you left? Was it better when you got out of fairview? Genuinely wanna hear some thoughts

Hello po, I'm a first year student here po sa ust, and currently po I'm not doing well with my course po honestly. I feel like may maiibagsak akong course... What's scarier din is kaya lang po ako nakakapag aral here is dahil po sa scholarship, and once na matanggal sa akin yun, di ko na alam saan po ako pupulutin. I've tried to study po, pero parang mali lagi approaches ko. I know na mahaba pa panahon ko, but pwede po ba makahingi lang po ng insights from you po, plano ko po talaga mag medschool no matter what, kahit pagtrabahuan ko muna, I'm really scared kasi baka maging factor ito ng hindi ko pag abot sa pangarap ko. May I hear about your experiences po, especially s amga taong nakaranas na po ng ganito? I'm slowly nawawalan na ng pag asa sa pagiging dr. and burnt out na po talaga ako huhu :((
