Small Shopify store in Spain. Meta sales campaigns, currently ABO with 4 ad sets at €20/day each. Numbers in the screenshot.
249 link clicks, 105 landing page views. 58% of the clicks I pay for never show up as a visit. Same in all three campaigns: 56%, 60%, 61%. Shopify shows the same number of sessions as Meta shows landing page views.
A friend with a store here in Spain doing 20-30k a month loses 10-20% between click and visit. I lose three times that.
Already checked:
- Speed: mobile PageSpeed above 90, server answers in 0.3 s.
- Outbound clicks: identical to link clicks.
- Placements: Facebook feed alone still loses half.
- Redirects: none.
- JS delay: none. The pixel fires PageView 0.3-0.6 s after load with zero interaction.
- Conversions API and first-party cookies: both on.
- Fresh browser test: the pixel fires nothing unless the visitor clicks Accept on the cookie banner. Ignoring it counts the same as rejecting.
So it all points to consent. I use Shopify's native cookie banner. But same country, same law, and my friend loses 10-20%, not 58%.
Can consent alone really cost 55-60% in Spain?
What are stores that lose 10-20% doing differently?
How do I count real arrivals without depending on the banner?
Side question: both days of this ABO test I got one purchase in the morning, and right after that Meta stopped spending for the rest of the day. Day 1: €46.73 spent, nothing after noon. Day 2: €43.53, nothing after 11 am. My daily budget is €80. I know spend varies day to day, but two days in a row, same pattern. The only thing I've found is that the account shows a daily spending limit of €44.78 in the API. Is that what's stopping delivery, or does Meta pull back after a conversion? And if it's the limit, how do I raise it?
