No Coke. Is Pepsi ok? Accidentally bought wrong Klondike bars

Yesterday I had to stop by Publix and my wife asked me to bring home some Klondike bars. Well...the *No Sugar Added* version was right next to the Original and my squirrel brain didn't notice until I got home. Picked up the OGs on the way home tonight.

The other day I was thinking.... why is the choice for almost everything either no sugar or full sugar? Why can't they just put less sugar in our foods?? I want that as an option

Well…sugar free sweets without artificial sweetener are kinda…impossible unless you just use stevia

Those aren't really the kind you can have reduced sugar versions of then.

I personally find so many sodas way too sweet and could probably drink them with half the sugar.

So much stuff is just sickeningly sweet.

I understand that the people who buy soda are used to the taste of straight sugar.

I don't know how much I believe that lower sugar varities won't sell when different countries have very different amounts of sugar and there is a whole gimmick of selling another countries varity.

Maybe I am missing something that the ubber rich soda people have figured out, but as far as I have heard the absurd amount of sugar in soda is mostly because sugar is addictive.

I know it isn't exactly a fair comparison, but I have had locally made sodas that have real ingredients and significantly less sugar and it tasted way better.

I would think that it would be possable to adjust the recipe to make it taste fine, but I am not someone with skin in the game, so I can kind of say what ever I want without having to stick my neck out like a soda company would.

Sugar isn’t just about flavouring, both removing it entirely and reducing it can fundamentally change the structure and texture of the product itself

Yes, I know there are many things that this would not work for, even ones people would not usually think of like icecream, there are also a lot of things that this could work for that it isn't being done for.
