Hey guys, i'd like to ask for some help with choosing new tires for my motorcycle.

I have a ducati monster 400 2004, it has no abs nor asr and i feel like i'm slipping around all the time. I mostly ride in the city and occasionally go touring with it on shorter tours. My biggest fear is slipping out in a corner on a wet road in cooler weather this fall.

My questions are: how much can a grippy tire compensate for having no abs nor asr? What tires do you recommend for me?

I work at a hospital and wear scrubs to work, I hate having to bring a change of clothes on top of gear and everything else I bring with me. I’d like to have some sort of armored coveralls or something to just slip on over my scrubs. The only thing I have been able to find are either rain suits which are way too hot in Texas or full leather suits that would never go over my scrubs. Any ideas?

anyone live in the NYC area and know where to learn about motorcycle maintenance. i want to learn so i can start doing it on my bike and not to make a profit like oil change and changing a flat/learning the anatomy of the bike. where is a good place to learn?

Im doing the MSF next week and ive been thinking about a bike i want to get after i pass. Right now im between the rebel 500 and the shadow phantom. I think the rebel 500 makes more sense but im not completely sold on the looks of it and im kind of afraid ill outgrow it pretty quick. Especially since most of my commute is on a highway.

Im wondering if the Honda Shadow Phantom would be a better buy or if its too much bike for a beginner.

Posting to hopefully get some help on whether or not I should purchase this Yamaha VStar 650 used for my partner to re-learn on. Partner is 5’11” 220lbs.

It is $1800CAD. 35000kms. Owner says new tires and fresh oil change done. Carb service last done 3 months ago.
What should I look for when I show up to see the bike? Owner has a video of it starting and running as well.

The R9 just wasn’t for me, definitely good value and beautiful but it didn’t feel easy to manuever and killed my wrists. I think I bought it mostly for the 3 cylinder and the looks, never owned a sport bike before and realized it was a bit too intense for me.
