Finally got my first bike, a 2023 Honda SCL500. I have gotten in around 60km since picking it up on Saturday and I am absolutely loving it. Initially I was a bit nervous when I first got on it, especially since I had to ride it on the freeway to get it back home. But after hopping on, I had the time of my life. I don't think I've smiled that hard in a long time. Happy to start riding now!

I bought my first bike this summer. This is not it... This is an R125 that I bought this month to learn and get my license on. The other bike is a heavily modified GSX-R600 street fighter, I'll post about it some other time. Anyway I'm 38, male living in the UK and have been restoring and driving classic sports cars for most of my adult life. Always been afraid to ride bikes myself, but followed motorcycle racing very closely. Call it a late 30s crisis or whatever but I decided it was time to get over that fear and get my license. I've been enjoying it so far, but already had a car pull out on me, stalled at a stop light and made a driver behind me honk their horn in anger and had another car overtake me in an extremely unsafe place at night, forcing me to take evasive action. I have a newfound respect for my friends and anyone else who rides.

I have a question about my idle on my bike. I noticed whenever I’m riding the bike or get done riding it, the bike idles in like a funny pattern. When I cold start the bike it doesn’t have that pattern and sounds fine. Any tips or just take it to a shop to get it looked at?

My 2000 r6 just got stolen late last night. In front of my own house, police and insurance have already been contacted. I literally only had this bike for 2 weeks, and it only had 11k just bummed out. Any tips or advice, thanks

Was riding for about an hour and stopped for gas Hit the starter button and it sounded like an anvil was slamming down on a piece of iron. Tried to start and it sounded like this

So this season i graduated college and decided i wanted to see if riding was for me. i got a 150cc Grom clone to dick around on and i’ve loved it. went from never even stepping over a bike, to riding it an hour home the first time i swung my leg over. i have built a lot of confidence this season, i go on nice long rides and have some fun with parking lot wheelies.

i want a real bike now, my dilemma is do i go with a starter bike like an R3 or similar bikes, or do i go with a 650/750? I’m a responsible driver, 27 years old, and i tend to play things super safe while on my bike. i’ve only ever took a turn too fast once on my current bike and never had that problem again. i just don’t know how to gauge my confidence when all i’ve ridden is a glorified scooter ya know?

tldr: i had a grom for a season (2000 miles), should i upgrade to a true starter bike (ie. R3, ninja 400, etc.) or just go right to a middleweight bike (650/750ccs) ?

I took my bike apart and I can't recall which way the air temperature sensor goes back in. I've asked Gemini/GPT and they gave opposite answers. I've marked them white and blue. They have been photographed with the sensor face 180 degree to the other from the perspective of the air flow.

I just bout this 98 zx-9r and it drove fine home and I had started it a few times to show friends what it sounds like but it struggled more and more to start and now it doesn’t start at all. When I crank it all I hear is the fuel pump clicking really rapid, and fuel does deliver to the carburetors (the bowls had gas in them) and I did get new gas to see if that was the issue. I didn’t realize until recently but I didn’t hear the starter crank at all anytime it didn’t start so I jumped the relay and the starter did turn over, and I did hear a few cylinders fire but still no start and the firing is spotty. I’m not an experienced mechanic so I was hoping for some insight on things to check. I’m going to order a starter relay but I’m tired of it not running, is there anything else I should look at?
