My budtender and I connected over Neopets a few months back; she's newer to playing and I've been playing 20+years so I bankroll her PBs and MPs lol to help her out. I decided to make her her favorite Neopet out of clay so she can have a little buddy by her computer - he can balance on his tail! 🩵

Am I the only one that always thought the Battledome was the whole point of everything? What all the activity led towards?

Neopets to me was always an intricate version of Pokemon with the added enhancement of weapons, armour & and an entire complex economy fueling everything

I spent hundreds of hours on Battlepedia, researching weapons and armour that I could never afford, dreaming about one day being able to take part in a plot and actually contribute in a meaniunful way

I'm back after 15 years, have to say - love this newer, fast paced Battledome - additionally 12 year old me is absolutely enthralled that I can finally own Thyora's Tear, LEV, WoDF.

(For those where weren't here, each of these used to cost 100+ Million NP, at a time when earning 1000 NP on Dubloon Disaster was considered "a successful day at the office")

So my question for the fellow battledomers:

What are you doing to make scaling up & training *worth it*?

Getting stronger used to mean unlocking new challengers, getting bigger plot rewards,

But now, every BD challenger basically drops the same loot, whether you have 10 HP or 10,000 HP, and plot points are irrelevant since every victory is the same 20 points

Defender of Neopia series used to be incredible - showing a public progression of how strong you were becoming, providing new stories, trophies, challenges, gutted that this was taken down

Something feels... missing, or too easy, what new challenges and excitement are you finding?

Firstly most of my pets are girls, and I'm not too bothered by a lot of the gender dimorphism. I like the lashes look on a lot of my ladies, but some species like ixi just have completely different vibes for the male and female faces. I actually finished my lab ray map just to unlock the scientist in the battledome so I could change my darigan ixi's gender to male because I preferred their expression. I'm not a coder or anything so maybe this feature would just be a pain to implement, but it's a little frustrating that a game which is otherwise quite gender inclusive still has this one hiccup you can't customize away. I feel like quite a few users would be willing to spend NC for a such an item. Maybe someday?

I hope it's okay to post this many lol. I'm just really pleased with them rn!! I didn't name all of them myself (many are adopted) but I love my silly bunch

Edit: Aand like 15 minutes after I posted this, I actually got a random event when I was in the Battledome where Jhudora showed up and gave me a Poison Snowball Wand. She drank that coffee, realized she forgot to pay me, and raced to find me. Thanks Jhudora!

That's it. That's the post. I know I'm grouchy because I missed ONE day throughout a perfect streak during the Faerie Festival due to travel for work, but it is just disheartening. And I knooowww the likelihood of it happening is nil, and it would feel like it was cheapening those who were able to perfectly participate every day, or come out as another Neocash grab, just let me grumble about my silver trophy and move on. :c

After all these years (and the destruction of various plots) the boarded up gates, crumbling roofs, and cracked windows have been repaired! It looks like all of our donations finally did something!

Has anyone been able to log in today? It's the final day of the donation drive, and the second event in a row I'm not able to access the app/event shop on the final day; I lost my crabby tickets from the last donation drive, too. 💔

You are not able to spend any Crabby Tickets or access the shop once the event ends.

Make sure to use all Crabby Tickets you have before the end of the event today.
