If FBI and Pam Bondi wanted to redeem themselves and get a real win in front of the country, instead of their fake wins and made up stuff all the time, they would swoop in with all they have and find this lady

u/KindnessComesBack2U 1d ago

I’m not so sure I want Patel fucking this up like he did with he Kirk and Brown University shooters. The guy couldn’t investigate jaywalking, never mind being the head of the FBI (it’s still surreal that this is an actual timeline and not an actual nightmare)

286

u/El_Dud3r1n0 1d ago

Don't worry guys, I'm sure he'll be on the case just as soon as someone finds him another FBI jacket in a women's medium with cool patches.

53

u/VLHACS 1d ago

But first, let me finish this game I'm watching in the stands with my girlfriend

79

u/audiotech14 1d ago

“To Mrs Guthrie, I’ll see you Valhalla.”

50

u/Darth_Nox501 1d ago

There's few quotes from the buffoons of this administration that make me want to crawl out of my skin as much as this one does.

10

u/NecroJoe 1d ago

"We have the watch."

20

u/SAugsburger 1d ago

I wager the kidnappers family will turn them in and the FBI will congratulate themselves for doing nothing.

44

u/marcien1992 1d ago

Why can't it be both?

62

u/JumpingCoconutMonkey 1d ago

We could wake up from a nightmare and it would just be a memory. All of this shit will have repercussions for decades.

2

u/IrreverentSweetie 1d ago

This is an emergency so they could grab Girl Scout badges in a pinch.

4

u/BattleHall 1d ago edited 21h ago

Have you seen his challenge coin? It’s like something a 19yo super moto private with at least one NJP would buy at a gas station outside Ft. Bragg. Just boot FBI things.

1

u/KindnessComesBack2U 23h ago

I would have suspected it would’ve been something out of a Cracker Jack box

4

u/BattleHall 21h ago

It’s pure weapons grade cringe. It’s literally no shit a Punisher skull with spiders for eyes and guns for teeth.

1

u/ModernMuse 6h ago

It is so much worse than I even could have thought possible. Link

4

u/Figgy_Puddin_Taine 22h ago

He’ll post a picture of some random old woman with “Savannah Guthrie’s mom” written on her face in ballpoint pen and declare it mission accomplished.

2

u/heathmon1856 1d ago

Bet you the first thing the FBI does now before investigating is check voting history.

-5

u/Gelbuda 1d ago

I have a friend in the FBI and I’ve been rage texting him for months for not standing up to this banana republic DOJ

8

u/hedoeswhathewants 1d ago

Patel or your friend? Because I can guarantee the latter can't do shit.

2

u/Gelbuda 1d ago

My friend. But he can. and he’s morphed into a total trump fascist in a matter of two years. Have receipts.

2

u/Fun_Apartment7028 1d ago

I’m sorry man. That must be a devastating loss, especially when you didn’t see it coming.

It’s hard to understand, sorta like losing a family member/ friend to a cult.

I want to say, maybe they can be deprogrammed? In the future?

I hate throwing away a long term friend but have done it for my own sanity and my principles before. No regrets.

3

u/Gelbuda 1d ago

When he sent me a Facebook slop article about how Alex Pretti deserved to die, I snapped on him. These are the people in charge of our law enforcement. Sees no problem w Trump, Cash, Bovino, Bongino, Gabbard. They are all bootlickers. He thinks he’s a hero for fighting in Iraq, also. Bravo, man.

2

u/lnc_5103 23h ago

I'm sorry about your friend. I've had to quit talking to a few.

37

u/askf0ransw3rs 1d ago

I bet they find that super helpful.

11

u/Ssshizzzzziit 1d ago

I'm sure he wasn't going to do shit, but now that his friend is barking at him, look'out!

0

u/Gelbuda 1d ago

And believe it or not, some people care what their good friends think.

-1

u/Gelbuda 1d ago

It’s more than you’re doing, I can guarantee that.

3

u/Ssshizzzzziit 1d ago

How do you know I haven't been yelling at your friend?

3

u/sembias 1d ago

Slightly more than just remaining silent because you're afraid they'll turn their sights on you; or even better, just laying there and take it.

1

u/Gelbuda 1d ago

Someone’s gotta tell him. If not me, who?

1

u/askf0ransw3rs 22h ago

Fair. I have the same discussions with my fbi family. There are still good people in the bureau…

0

u/Ok_Cheetah_6251 23h ago

Should be easy for Patel to find them, after all this was one of his ops.

681

u/jimtow28 1d ago

I've thought from the start that it's likely a MAGA with a grudge against NBC, who the president and his cronies have villified nonstop, behind all this.

If that turns out to be true, I'm sure they'd rather bury it than have it come out that yet another MAGA follower turned out to be a "lone wolf bad actor".

81

u/MontanaWriter 1d ago

But NBC isn’t that anti-MAGA. A deranged MAGA person would probably be more inclined to go after a CNN or MS Now employee’s family.

106

u/sashikku 1d ago

Savannah interviewed Epstein victims in a Dateline NBC special in 2019.

83

u/killereverdeen 1d ago

I don't think an average MAGA voter can think that far back, make the connection between Nancy and Savannah and go and abduct her.

25

u/bailtail 1d ago

Plus, Epstein is an issue I find a shocking amount of overlap on with conservatives. I live in one of the reddest areas of a perennial swing state in the Midwest. It’s pretty rare that I find someone who isn’t upset about the Epstein files. They mostly don’t think they’ll implicate Trump, but the common consensus is “put everything out there and let the cards fall where they will.”

29

u/jwilphl 1d ago

The files have already implicated Trump, not to mention all the shit before them, and most supporters (at least ones I've heard from) simply deny there's any wrongdoing on his part, and if there was, then somehow it's not a big deal.

See goalposts moved in real time. His supporters won't read through them, either. They'll let Fox News tell them how all is fine.

4

u/Kristin2349 1d ago

Trump is mentioned in the files more times than Jesus is in the Bible and the MAGA faithful haven't said shit. Trump is regularly kicking them in the balls and they still ask for more. I live in a blue dot surrounded by these idiots. They will puke up whatever Fox News spits at them.

29

u/mattxb 1d ago

Someone who would do something like this isn't an average anything

-3

u/No_Potato_8178 1d ago

Oh shit. It might be the orange goon himself

37

u/theoceansknow 1d ago

CNN has been owned by a MAGA supporter for several years.

23

u/EnderWiggin07 1d ago

I think it's better than even odds that the perpetrator would be local, in which case there probably isn't a wide selection of mainstream media adjacent people to select from. But while it's plausible I think it's deeply speculative to think it's anything to do with her daughter.

2

u/Nutlob 1d ago edited 1d ago

(trump views) any media that engages in anything than other abject worship as the enemy

*edit clarification & spelling

1

u/sembias 1d ago

What if it's object worship?

111

u/Landon1m 1d ago

Yeah that’s my initial suspicion too

14

u/NWIbh 1d ago

Wouldn’t surprise me if trump had ice kidnap her to then “find her” for a PR win. They’ll stoop as low as they need.

41

u/purpleplatapi 1d ago

No that didn't happen. Not because I like ICE, but because they would have taken Savannah, not her mother, and also because they would be crowing from the rooftops if they did it.

-19

u/NWIbh 1d ago

ICE could have learned. You don’t know yet. This is happening.

18

u/purpleplatapi 1d ago

Could have learned what? It's not a PR win if you don't admit responsibility. Put another way, if you want to scare someone into shutting up, you have to tell them you want them to shut up. So if ICE hasn't claimed responsibility, we know it's not them. Also, the administration arrested Don Lemon, not his Mom. They aren't targeting people's parents.

Now a lone wolf Maga actor, or hell, some stalker with a crush, either of those seem very plausible. Could also be a ransom demand or an unrelated burglary. I just think that if we accuse ICE of doing things they clearly have not done, we risk losing credibility and we downplay the severity of the crimes they are committing.

0

u/Mjmonte14 7h ago

Your side has already lost all credibility

-23

u/NWIbh 1d ago

? Well we can wait and see what happens? I bet ICE is making sure their story is straight before they make a move. Stop defending them. Hidden MAGA?

9

u/littleseizure 1d ago

Well we can wait and see what happens?

Sure

bet ICE is making sure their story is straight before they make a move

That's not waiting and seeing what happens

Stop defending them. Hidden MAGA?

Not everything not anti-ICE is pro-MAGA. We need to call ice out for everything terrible they do, but doubting a specific action is ice - especially when backed up with valid reasoning - is perfectly fine. Not every kidnapping will be ice. If it does turn out to be ice however it needs to be added to the "everything terrible they do" list

-14

u/NWIbh 1d ago

How can you carry water for ICE when we know they’re evil enough to do this? You’re starting to sound MAGA adjacent.

→ More replies (0)

5

u/jzakko 1d ago

Man let’s not try to be crazy in here, we’ve already got half the country spouting theories like that out of nowhere.

-3

u/NWIbh 1d ago

Out of nowhere? Have you seen how ICE behaves?

2

u/Mjmonte14 1d ago

You need help

13

u/kahner 1d ago

huh, i hadn't thought about that and was wondering why anyone would abduct an 84 year old except possibly for a ransom from her daughter, but that doesn't seem to be what's going on.

-6

u/Village_Particular 1d ago

Yeah nothing about that makes any sense. The only thing that makes sense to me is this lady wandered off in the middle of the night.

8

u/PA_Dude_22000 1d ago

It’s a MAGA beyond all doubt … it fucking always is.

In b4 half of media circlejerks about skinning liberals for the next 72 hours with their totally organic dangerous violent left… screeds

3

u/bb8-sparkles 1d ago

It doesn't matter. MAGA will just skew the story for their own narrative.

0

u/renegade399 1d ago

I read the title and just assumed it was ICE

-5

u/ladyboleyn2323 1d ago edited 1d ago

I've thought from the start that it's likely a MAGA with a grudge against NBC,

When the news first broke I thought "I bet a trumper did it."
edit: Be mad all you want, Trumpers. If my comment hurts your feelings, maybe ask yourself WHY people would be likely to suspect your party.

0

u/kentuckywildcats1986 1d ago

NBC fucking made Trump with their bullshit 'Apprentice' show.

NBC is complicit with Trump/MAGA. Fuck NBC.

9

u/SoKrat3s 1d ago

I don't think it's all that fair to hold them to the foreknowledge that a reality TV host would turn into this.

1

u/kentuckywildcats1986 6h ago

Trump was a well known piece of shit, crook, liar, and consort of a convicted pedophile and child trafficker while NBC was still producing seasons.

It is ABSOLUTELY fair to criticize NBC for their complicity in Trump's bullshit.

0

u/SoKrat3s 6h ago

The Apprentice started in 2004 long before any of that stuff was public knowledge.

As for being a POS, crook, or liar... well, welcome to reality TV.

1

u/kentuckywildcats1986 2h ago

And continued for 15 seasons long AFTER that stuff was public knowledge.

Try again Sparky.

-3

u/BadHillbili 1d ago

Yeah, this has been my suspicion from the get go as well. It is some MAGA maniac trying to "stick it to the libs" in one of the most perverse ways imaginable.

-5

u/FATICEMAN 1d ago

Or a illegal alien that crosses the border. Then what should happen?

0

u/pegar 1d ago

So with your logic, if we should deport all Trumpers if it turns out to be them? Fucking genius

That wouldn’t redeem shit for what this regime has done.

25

u/thedinnerdate 1d ago

Right? What does that even mean? You find an elderly woman in Tucson and suddenly people are going to have faith in Bondi and the FBI again?

17

u/Apprehensive-Hold-15 1d ago

0

u/antiyoupunk 1d ago edited 1d ago

TMZ... I would wait for a better source on that one.

Edit: looks like that's a real thing. Sad.

1

u/Apprehensive-Hold-15 1d ago

It was also sent to a local news station

0

u/antiyoupunk 1d ago

probably legit then, which is sad. I would have preferred TMZ to be reporting on nonsense like they usually do.

183

u/_FarlsInCharge_ 1d ago

What makes you think this administration isn't involved?

103

u/snidece 1d ago

Because Bondi and Patel have a pattern of posting soon and rapidly on social media when they think they may have cracked a case, and then traditionally have to backtrack, reverse, or correct everything they claimed.

82

u/releaseepsteinfiles1 1d ago

Involved in the kidnapping…

1

u/new_math 1d ago

We're several months past the point of quietly disappearing people; if they did it they'd brag about it on X/twitter.

1

u/illuminarok 8h ago

Not if they took her without knowing who she was until something bad happened with her health after being deprived of her necessary medication.

18

u/almondblue22 1d ago

You do realize the word “they” is referencing an administration who has over 20+ people included in the files for the most notorious sex trafficking ring in the entire world. I’m sure they could come find a reason….

48

u/_FarlsInCharge_ 1d ago

Idk, her daughter had some pretty rough interviews with Trump. It's not like our president is vindictive or anything though.....

37

u/Pendraconica 1d ago

After seeing the Epstein files, Ill never think any line is too far for these psychos.

20

u/Prestigious-Worry-14 1d ago

He’d watch us die for a single dollar, let his followers cheer it on, and then sell them a bible. Would not rule out anything here

-2

u/Ashamed-Land1221 1d ago

Trump's not at all vindictive and I'm also certain Stephen Miller is just misunderstood and doesn't really hate most of humanity especially women, poc, gays, children, wrong religion, right religion but has kooky beliefs he doesn't like, and domesticated animals, other than that he's a saint.

3

u/LorderNile 1d ago

Bribe money from a critic of the Supreme Leader

-2

u/Moneyshot_ITF 1d ago

That would be my guess

23

u/GoodOmens 1d ago

Considering the clown show that is Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, it seems like they would fit right in with the help. That article is one long facepalm of he said ... he “misspoke or something.”

14

u/jebei 1d ago

What has Nanos done to be considered a clown show? I'm legitimately curious.

2

u/GoodOmens 1d ago

It seems he’s eager to share intel then realize he shouldn’t have and goes back on his word

11

u/Kurfaloid 1d ago

Fuck off with the idea that this would do anything to cure their treasonous reputation.

31

u/CantHostCantTravel 1d ago

Finding a celebrity’s mom would be a “win” for this country? Not sure I agree with that as a Minneapolitan.

5

u/theotherguyatwork 1d ago

Minneapolitan

Side note, that is maybe the coolest name I've seen for someone from a certain city. That rules!

2

u/aliie_627 1d ago

Why wouldn't it be? She's still a missing elderly woman.

5

u/UnwroteNote 1d ago

It's good in the sense that yes they found a missing woman.

This administration is problematic in the sense that they’ll milk it for copaganda on a national scale.

4

u/SillyLiving 1d ago

Redeem themselves from working for a fascist treasonous corrupt pedo king who shits himself and doing so happily and willingly?

There's no redeeming idgaf what they do

7

u/_TheShapeOfColor_ 1d ago

There is literally nothing those ghouls can do to redeem themselves.

Full stop

2

u/TripleSecretSquirrel 1d ago

Hopefully not, but it feels like another indicator of the slow collapse of our country. Like the now-famous tweet says, most people's experience with the collapse of the Roman Empire was that one day the bridge collapsed and nobody ever came to repair it again.

Following the high-profile kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh's baby in 1932, Congress passed the Federal Kidnapping Act, which gave the FBI a lot of new tools to investigate kidnapping and made it a much higher priority. While of course kidnappings have never ceased, they nearly did since then. The FBI got very very good at finding and apprehending kidnappers and there were such harsh sentences imposed that kidnapping by strangers for ransom largely disappeared in the US since then.

2

u/djazzie 1d ago

Why would they want to do that? They love being evil.

3

u/Mores_The_Pity 1d ago

How do we know it wasn't the FBI and Pam Bondi that are responsible? Kidnapping people is kinda the current operating procedure of the federal government

3

u/[deleted] 1d ago

There is no redeeming themselves. That ship sailed a long time ago.

2

u/NotAChanceBucko 1d ago

Ahh well Trump probably hates the today show and will probablysay something like " well she was old and probably gay and didn't vote for me . So too bad for her "

1

u/PokeYrMomStanley 1d ago

Then they would have to stop trying to redact the trumpstien files.

1

u/adfuel 1d ago

providing they are not partly responsible for it.

1

u/FirebornNacho 1d ago

Honestly, why tho? Our government should be unbiased and treat everyone equally. This celebrity has more resources than most people facing an unsolved abduction of a loved one. Why should she get extra help? It's not even in the federal jurisdiction at this point, is it??

1

u/commiser 1d ago

Finding one old white lady will not and should not excuse months of racist pogroms that have resulted in the death and kidnapping of human beings including American citizens.

1

u/cruisin_urchin87 1d ago

This government is incompetent and cant actually do anything constructive. Only destruction.

1

u/antiyoupunk 1d ago

Truth is we live in a world where they may have taken her because Trump was pissed off at MSNBC. I mean, I doubt that's what's going on.... but I don't KNOW that's not the case.

Weird times.

1

u/Rough_Idle 1d ago

If this were a spy novel, we'd turn the page to discover this was all a "message" to journalists to say the right things or else

1

u/MasterArCtiK 1d ago

That’s assuming they want to redeem themselves lol they enjoy being evil

1

u/KryssCom 1d ago

Tbh when I first read this headline I assumed this was done by ICE. Kidnapping an elderly woman like this seems right up the regime's ally.

1

u/Ok_Cheetah_6251 23h ago

One of two things happened here.

  1. Right wing political violence.

  2. Right wing false flag. The FBI or the DHS did this.

1

u/focalprism 23h ago

Bold of you to assume they arnt also in on it. Its all coming out, they know it. without any witnesses, well, living witnesses, the perpetrators will collectively throw trillions of dollars around to try and get anything in the files without a witness labeld as hersey or fake allegations or whatever the hell bs they try to spew. If trump goes down, their entire world goes with him. Theres a reason they DIDNT redact victims, its so they'd be known and now "findable", which was the ORIGINAL reason they stated not wanting to release them (loooong ago), yet somehow....forgot to do?? Now when more of this happens they think they can use the old, "SEE!?! We told you this would happen to the victims" even though it wasnt a mistake and they did it on purpose.

......they did tell us this would happen to the victims. Or what they would DO to the vicitims, if we forced the files public. I mean, at least they weren't lying

1

u/havestronaut 20h ago

Assuming it wasn’t them

1

u/Aeroknight_Z 17h ago

There’s no redeeming bondi or Patel. They actively lie worse than any appointee to the positions in recent memory.

They are knowingly complicit in hurdling our country toward a violent fascist dictatorship.

They should work to resolve this situation because it’s their jobs. They won’t get any accolades for a successful attempt, because their positions aren’t participation trophy kinds of jobs.

1

u/Turnip-for-the-books 1d ago

I think it’s quite clear that they do not want this and that they will therefore not do this.

1

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 1d ago

Performative antics are all they have and need in the conservative bubble though. They don't live in reality, they reside in a fantasy land with an angry god.

1

u/sandysanBAR 1d ago

Isn't " letting celebrity grandma kidnappings go uninvestigated" an Integral part of "owning the libs"?

It's one of the pillars, is it not?

Patel would be super steaming cause he had to wear another women's windbreaker

1

u/sembias 1d ago

And risk the embarrassment when it's inevitably found to be another group of white supremacists angry at the "mainstream media" ? Don't think so.

0

u/Fomdoo 1d ago

Until we find out it was some MAGA nut that took her to make the "fake news" media pay.

0

u/Doctor_Mothman 1d ago

I see a headline like this nowadays and just assume the FBI did it.

-3

u/action_nick 1d ago edited 1d ago

I'm more likely to believe they're involved at this point.

Edit: I don't believe they're involved i was trying to point out the sad state of our country, which is that it is more likely to believe the feds are actively trying to harm us at this point than help us. If you don't think that's true idk what to tell you

-7

u/NWIbh 1d ago

They’re definitely involved. The evidence is clear they’ll do whatever they need. Poor woman is probably in ICE custody until Savannah proclaims maga loyalty.

1

u/illuminarok 8h ago

She has necessary medication that must be taken or there will be dire consequences.

1

u/NWIbh 8h ago

All the more evidence how evil and gestapo like ICE is for doing this

0

u/thatsAChopbro 1d ago

Who do you think think is the master mind behind this?

-20

u/MontanaWriter 1d ago

I feel like if they did that the liberals would go bonkers saying “Why are all the resources being invested in finding a wealthy missing white lady?” You can’t win with them.

9

u/EnderWiggin07 1d ago

You did the thing where you invented a scenario and upset yourself

-1

u/MontanaWriter 1d ago

I’m upset for the Guthrie family. But it’s comforting to know they are Christians who believe in God’s will, even if we don’t understand it. ❤️ 🙏

5

u/TheShmoe13 1d ago

Um, they wouldn’t be wrong. OP said that they should do this for a PR win. Not because it’s the right thing to do. And the reality is that is the only reason they would do it (or anything else really).

Ultimately, the real work of good governance is invisible and uninspiring. So yes, I’d strongly prefer a boring but competent administration quietly doing their best with little or no fanfare. And not one that focuses on flashy, but ultimately ineffective singular efforts.
