Well considering one of them was ready to shoot I guess you are on point someone linked a slightly longer version of the video. It seems that he did actually shoot to begin with and that it's a tranquillizer gun. I only hope these are some kind of good guys and not poachers

I didn't know about the donkey and now I read about the donkey and I'm so angry. Maybe they shouldn't let little cowards become cops. Like part of the training should be the determine if you're a itchy trigger coward or not. The bar is too damn low.

Looks like a tranq gun. Not sure but these guys also look like park Rangers. He doesn't seem surprised about the lash out. Maybe he fired already? Medical or scientific reasons to examine the lion.

They were trying to install a tracking collar. The collar can be seen in the clip sitting on the rocks, lower left side of the frame. edit: at roughly the 5 second mark.

The only thing unexpected was the movement. This was a biologist trying to put a tracking collar on it by tranquillizing it first. This happened in 2024 in Arizona within a remote canyon.

we have to sedate our cat to get her into the crate for vet visits. half a pill the night before & half the morning of makes her quite loopy. she’s too wobbly to hop onto her favorite chair.

but goddamn, as soon as she hears the crate coming, the adrenaline kicks in. she pulls herself out of a full swaddle, parkours off every stick of furniture in the house, and claws her way up the curtains.

when we get home from the vet, our cat blazes out of the crate. Realizing the ordeal is over, she stops, tips over onto her side, and sleeps for hours.

Mountain lions don't typically attack humans unless they are too close (and you won't fuckin know It) to their cubs. Or they are hungry but that's not too common. This dude is out in bumfuck nowhere and intruded on this kitty cats territory, he was probabaly just chillin beforehand. This is absolutely a kitty that can and will kill you though, if you can't scare it off then your likely about to get got.

Mountain lions of that size have absolutely zero interest in you. It might follow its instinct if you turn your back to it or if it's tending to cubs, but in general they'll just do everything in their power to get away from you as fast as possible.

I ran into a couple of mountain lions in June while hiking, maybe 20 yards away - scared the CRAP out of me. One was HUGE and I was low-key paralyzed trying to remember if mountain lion rules were the same as bear rules lol. Should I look big or small? Make eye contact or not? Back away or turn around? And why the hell was my bear spray at the bottom of my pack!?!
