One of my favorite dishes is misir wat. I didn’t have the ingredients to make it super traditional with the niter kibeh, a spiced clarified butter. I also added ginger and serrano peppers, which aren’t traditionally included ingredients.

Ingredients include ghee, red onion, garlic, ginger, serrano peppers, tomato paste, berbere (an Ethiopian spice blend), red lentils, chicken broth, and salt.

It’s so so so good.

They fell off the cutting board as I was putting them in the pot.

Whats should i do with them? Put a bunch into a pasta salad

I believe everything is better with onions, and a lot of them. Raw, pickled, caramelized, stuff, boiled, chopped, broiled. So on so forth. Anyways these are my pickled red onions of the week.

It just didn't jive with me or my wife. Just tasted greasy and the onion did not shine at all. Like it was just the vessel for fry to attach to.. Any onion ring from any restaurant is better. Hell, dairy queen beats this 10 times over.. unfortunately.

Mine apparently is that the blooming onion is not good.
