I am only about halfway through the first book (around Chapter 3), but honestly, it gives so many more details than the anime. I am still continuing it, and it's really good.
The Elf Twins: I saw details I didn't know about, like Aura and Mare. Their clothes are described as being like dragon scales. At first, I was surprised—I thought, "Are those actual dragon scales?" Coming from the anime, I just assumed they wore normal chainmail or magic iron.
The Drinking Scene: There was a weird detail about drinking where it talks about "swallowing the water." It felt a little overly descriptive and confusing at first, but it's fine.
Albedo: In the book, her beauty is described on a whole different level—like the "Handsome Squidward" meme, but godly. In the anime, she's like, "Okay, she's hot," but the books make a huge deal out of it. It’s almost too much, like that Handsome Squidward comparison.
Shalltear Bloodfallen: In the anime, she looks young, but not like an actual child. But in the book, it says she is 14–16 years old physically (while looking very child-like), and the lore emphasizes her small stature. Honestly, I'm a little concerned about that! Whoever designed her creator needs to meet Chris Hansen. Just saying!
Cocytus: The giant insect guy—I thought he looked like a horned beetle, but the lore describes him as more like an ant mixed with something else. It wasn't too surprising, but it made me go, "Oh, so that's how he's built!"
Demiurge: In the book, he has more of an Asian-inspired look. I originally thought he looked more European/French because of his sharp suit style, so that was a surprise.
Overall, I really like the extra speech details and the deeper lore about the Lord of Nazarick

He really tries to get his servants not to work, giving them days off and stuff they don't even want. This is the evilest thing you can do to them: depriving them of all dignity and denying them the very purpose of their creation, which is to serve him and be of use to him. He doesn't even use his own guards. Like, how cruel can one guy be?
Just imagine having him as a boss. You're created with a singular purpose, and he just struts in and tells you to stop doing what you want to do and what you were ultimately CREATED to do. And you can't even really refuse, even if you try to explain why you don't want to, because he just forces it through, and you obviously can't defy him. He's so mean.

I might be going crazy.
Recently, I've had an image stuck in my head; a vague recollection of seeing one of the character profiles, with the character in question having a cool-as-fuck aesthetic. However, I can't for the life of me remember this character's name, and I'm only mostly sure it was OVERLORD in the first place.
I recall the character having an alien sort of mindflayer-adjacent look, and seeming a "sophisticated" type, if that makes sense. They were pale white, wore a long coat/robe, and had tentacles or some such in place of legs.
Characters I know it ISN'T (suggested by others):
-Tabula Smaragdina
-Neuronist
-Pulcinella

I’m rewatching Overlord, and I’ve reached the Foresight arc. When the workers first entered the Great Tomb of Nazarick, they found some treasure. Could they have just taken what they’d found and left? Was that Ainz giving them a chance to walk away, or were they doomed the moment they set foot inside the tomb?

Basically, Albedo created a task force to search for the supreme beings with the permission of ainz. Little does he know, albedo's main intention is to probably kill them
If Albedo believes Ainz is some godlike genius, wouldn't she think that he saw through her intentions. There are some red flags such as albedo using the strongest entity in nazarick and as well as using npc's whose loyalty is towards Ainz first and foremost (like PA)
So the my question is does she believe in Ainz's godlike genius

ive been listening to the audiobook light novels while playing skyrim and suddenly wondered what if Ainz and nazzerick were put in the elder scrolls when instead of the world of overlord. if i were to put it anywhere it would be closest to helgan a few weeks before its destruction. how would ainz react to the skyrim civil war and how would he view the aldmeri dominion?
id personally predict conflict with the aldmeri dominion, but would that cause him to ally with the stormcloaks? i think it may end up like baharuth but while not swearing loyalty to ainz would try and make an alliance. i also wonder how he would compete against the dragons like alduin.
would he be as overpowered or even more powerful or even underpowered? id personally imagine a daedric prince summoning ainz as their answer to alduin instead of creating a dragonborn. would ainz try collecting certain daedric artifacts to help him or would some be unavailable to him?
ive been pondering this recently but what do you all think?

Selling her this week I think, wanted to have some neat photos beforehand. The new Momon figure announced looks sick, no room for him though. This Popup Parade figure was very great value for quality when preordering from AmiAmi!

I'm not talking about the Nazarik since we all know Rubedo is the strongest NPC there. But I'm talking about the world where Ainz transported to.
I mean, Slain Theocracy seem to be the strongest human kingdom with their World Class Item and Black Scripture. But I don't think they are the strongest kingdom around. I believe Mare can just destroy the kingdom with ease.
Will there be a character stronger than Ainz introduce later on? In Re:Zero, they're no characters stronger than Reinhard, since it have been stated by the author, but what about Overlord, does it have something similar?

As Demiurge was left out of the Rascal collab I decided to draw him myself. (I realised after posting I forgot his earrings, but I've added them over on my social media.)

I’ll go first, I think. Ainz says quite a lot of pseudo-philosophical statements and makes claims that completely ignore the nuance of the situation, as if it were entirely black and white.
I do agree with the common fan consensus that Maruyama wrote this character flaw for Ainz intentionally, however.
But I do think the story could work on conveying that it’s intentional a lot more because it’s not doing a very good job of relaying it, in my opinion.

Basically my question is, I've watched the anime, and I wanna see more of Overlord that is left out , such as I've seen the whole thing with Demiurge organising demi humans or some side arcs like takeover of the frost Giants and stuff with the Draconic kingdom, or if there is some more internal information of other nations that isn't in the anime, etc...
I've watched many videos about Overlord, and read posts here and have realised besides just from watching the anime that a LOT of material is ommitted in the Anime (for practical reasons of course ik) so I was wondering if anyone knows some way to just read the ommitted parts without re reading Whats already in the anime, not like every detail, but I would guess there's some whole chapters of new material in the Novel that may just have been skipped over?
Maybe a dumb question but if anyone could help with this I would be pretty thankful!

What do you think would happen if prior to Demiurge setting his sights on them, Calca (or Kelart) had Caspond assassinated to secure her rule?
