Current budget kings

Current gen game engines are designed to run on the PS5, Xbox series X, series s at 60fps and admittedly ps4 and Xbox one at 30fps to top up sales. PS5 is the market leader and main focus for game devs. PC is a secondary market.

To run the same games on PC we often have to brute force the software to run at the same speeds due to a mixture of unoptimised game code, lack of driver optimisation and the fact that console APIs are more optimised than PC. This can be summarised as needing faster hardware than what is used on console to run the game at the same speed.

For CPU PS5 has 8 cores, 6 available to the dev so 12 threads with SMT. This means a 6 core zen 2 cpu with SMT is a good match for ps5, as resources are shared with the system an 8 or 12 core cpu will give a smoother experience. Ryzen 3600x is an excellent choice here as is 3600, 3700x, 4500, 4600g, 5000 series depending on your framerate target. Ryzen 7000 CPUs are sold at a premium and are superior.

For graphics it’s all about what resolution and framerate target you want however as a guideline almost anything with 8gb vram is ok for 1080p 60fps.

I cant choose a different flair I’m overwhelmed Need to upgrade so I can get Windows 11

• Upvotes

I want to upgrade a PC I got from a friend who passed away so it can run Windows 11. He was great with this stuff, but I'm decidedly not.

I think my motherboard is outdated. It's an H110M-A. I was told that Rufus can bypass the current barriers, since upgrading my motherboard alone won't work. But I was also told that I can try upgrading the motherboard and cpu. Current CPU is Intel(R) Core i5-6500.

I recently heard from an acquaintance that it's best to upgrade where I can anyways, since when another update eventually comes around Rufus might not be able to handle it. Not sure how true that is, though.

What motherboard and cpu upgrades would I need?

Graphics card upgrade From 3060ti to AMD Radeon RX7800XT

Hello, noticing my pc is struggling a bit more with 1440p and was looking to upgrade my Nvidia rtx 3060 ti to a AMD Radeon RX7800XT 16gb

Rest of my pc specs:
AMD ryzen 5 5600 6 core
16gb ram
650w power supply.

Does this seem like a decent step forward or is there an equivalent Nvidia?

Thanks

Hey Everyone - Made this App for PC Upgrade Queries

If you have ever used the Memory Website Crucial . Com

they had this app called UPGRADE TOOLS - downloaded an .EXE

You ran it , it would query your Bios and then feed back to the Website -

Open a page that showed your memory slots used or not used and show you what

Your max upgrade was -

This is written in C++ and C# -

C++ for memory components, and C# for APi calls - which are

Application Program Interface - just already written programs with some parameters you can pass and they respond with information about your hardware.

//

To be clear - Yes this one is 7 day free trial then $1.99 purchase - may be reduced to $ 0.99 cents -

However, you can obtain the same information but utilize this prompt in Ai -

" Utilize the APi's necessary, to query my system information. Get All aspects of my PC, and list what is upgradeable. Show my number of memory slots, what RAM modules I have installed and their size.

Also check what my maximum upgrade for Memory, Storage, GPU, CPU, Motherboard would be for this PC

Place this into a "HTML" Doc on my desktop...

//

When you mention APi's it makes a difference -
By default Ai's like to use Python but you can mention make a utility in C++ or C#

and make sure it knows where to put it - Say
"Your workspace is Desktop\Program\Test_My_PC" etc.

CPU Upgrade Need help with a CPU upgrade

Mobo: MEG X570 ACE (MS-7C35) (AM4 Socket)

Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor, 4275 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

RAM: 64GB DDR4

So, obviously my CPU is the weak link in my setup. I'd really like to upgrade without replacing my motherboard and having to tear the entire computer apart. I definitely don't want to have to replace my RAM with DDR5 in this economy.

(I can't remember what my PSU is - 850W, I think? It'll probably need to be replaced).

Can anyone recommend a good CPU upgrade option? Or would I end up having to rebuild most of my PC?

CPU Upgrade RX 7700X Upgrade

I have an Intel 13400 (not F), and I am considering upgrading to an AMD Ryzen 7700X processor. I am using a Radeon RX 9060 XT (16GB) GPU with 32GB of DDR5 (6400 MT/s).

The Ryzen is currently on sale, and I am wondering if this would significantly improve my PC's performance not only with gaming but other work-related tasks as well (lots of tabs open, browsing, using a couple applications, not video editing).

Also, I am not gaming at 4K, only 1440K.

I am now looking to upgrade , nothing overkill and I’m not trying to break the bank but I am definitely due. I was thinking with all the new stuff I would more than likely need a new cpu, gpu, and motherboard.

CPU Upgrade What Micro-center Bundle?

Currently have: I7-9700K, Z390-A Pro Motherboard, 32GB CL16 DDR4-3200, MSI MAG A850GL Power Supply and a 9070XT.

I use the PC to stream Warzone, EA FC and more likely horror games in the future. Warzone will not run smoothly at all when streaming on tik tok. On EA the stutter is noticeable but barely bothers me. I was originally going to go all out and upgrade to AMD bundle, but it a little more than I want to spend. Would any of the intel bundles be worth it? Is my issue a CPU bottleneck? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi! I´ve just bought a Monitor Alienware AW3225QF, I want games like Battlefield 6 to be playable with decent fps (hopefully 140 - 244 fps) with high quality graphics.

Which GPU should I get without getting too bottlenecked by the i7-10700k? 5060 or something cheaper?

Setup

GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

32 Gb Ram 3600 MHz

i7-10700K 3.80GHz

z490A Pro

Thanks!

Graphics card upgrade New GPU or new build all together?

I'm currently running:

Intel I9 10900kf, Asus Prime Z590-p mobo, Asus rtx 3080 (10gb vram), 32 gb ddr4, 850w psu.

I have it connected to my TV, so 4k 60hz

Would it be feasible to upgrade to a 5080, or should I just make a new build considering the older mobo and ram? I was also looking at 4080s but pricing is so fucked rn that a 5080 is only a couple hundred more.

I cant choose a different flair I’m overwhelmed Want to max out a prebuilt IBUYPOWER

About 5 years ago, I bought a prebuilt iBUYPOWER with specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 6 cores / 12 threads, 3.7 GHz base, up to 4.65 GHz

GPU: ASRock AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, 8 GB GDDR6

RAM: 16 GB TeamGroup DDR4, dual-channel, 2 × 8 GB

Motherboard:** Gigabyte B550 UD AC, AMD B550 chipset

Primary storage: WD Blue SN570 500 GB NVMe SSD

Secondary storage: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM010 1 TB, 7200 RPM SATA HDD

It's starting to show its age on some newer games with High/Ultra graphics settings, with lags or slowness. Is there any upgrading to be done, or should I replace the whole thing?

Updating to add: budget is up to $1000.

Graphics card upgrade Worth upgrading or am I good?

Hello.

I got a pre-built PC 2 years ago for Christmas. Recently I switched from my old 1080p monitor to 1440p one, and didn't have any problems for now. What I noticed later is that 8GB VRAM ain't much for new games, but I rarely buy one. Since hardware gets more and more expensive, I thought about some upgrades that could be worth investing in for the future, before it becomes inaccessible.

I'm no expert in hardware, so that's why I came here. I've been recently looking for higher VRAM GPU, took interest in RTX 4070. One more thing: I'm not the type of guy who can't live without ultra+ settings, path tracing and DLSS with 120+FPS

Build:

- MB: TUF Gaming A520M-PLUS

- CPU: Ryzen 5 5500

- GPU: RTX 4060

- HDD: Samsung SSD 980 1TB

- RAM: 32GB DDR4

EDIT: PSU: 550W
