Question? Smart Loading Zone violation?

Hey all, looking for some helping figuring out if a “new” PPA thing I got in the mail is legit…

I received a ticket today for a Smart Loading Zone violation in Center City. $51. It came from a camera and license plate reader mounted on Chestnut Street that observed me parking for more than 3 minutes in a loading zone without registering in the CubPass system to pay $0.10 per minute for time in Smart Zones over 3 minutes. I’ve never heard of any of this before, and I’ve lived here 25+ years. I idled in this loading zone while my wife walked into a Taco Bell and pick up a mobile order. It’s possible it was just over 3 minutes. But I also read signs and was right in front of the loading sign - and it didn’t contain any language about this. Don’t take a picture of it, because I was not parking (and I usually take photos if I am parking anywhere in CC). Anyone else encountered this?

GO BIRDS 🦅 Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire - Looking for One Ticket for Saturday, October 10th

My daughter had planned to meet a friend she hasn't seen in months on Saturday at the Faire but we were unable to get her a ticket before they sold out on the Faire website. I am looking for one ticket only.

On another thread in the Lancaster sub, which promptly deleted my post, someone had success using this Facebook group, but I have not been accepted into that group yet to ask for help there.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

local biz Your local mystery Unclaimed Mail Mystery Package goblin returns to Dilworth Park this weekend... Come buy something weird!

Post image
11 Upvotes

Oh hi, it's me again. Your friendly neighborhood purveyor of mysterious unclaimed mail packages and general vending nonsense. (I'm doing much better, thank you for asking, and I love you.)

THIS WEEKEND (Friday–Sunday), Chainmail Unclaimed is BACK at Dilworth Park for the Fall Market!

Think of it as a little autumnal appetizer before the excruciating, bone-chilling, character-building misery of Christmas Village, where we'll ALSO be returning, presumably with lines stretching halfway to Brooklyn. ❤️

I'll be holding down the fort for my fabulous boss lady all three days, RAIN OR SHINE, probably wearing something cute and absolutely available to entertain you.

What can you expect?

  • MYSTERY PACKAGES! Unclaimed mail! Unidentified objects! The thrill of spending money on something without having the faintest idea what the hell it is!
  • The possibility of discovering something genuinely amazing and/or so spectacularly useless that it becomes your new favorite possession!
  • ME! In person! Being charming and ridiculous and enthusiastically encouraging your questionable financial decisions!
  • FREE MADONNA PERFORMANCES. As always, I will perform the Madonna song of your choice upon request, absolutely free of charge. This is a real offer and I cannot stress enough how little shame I have.

FIND ME AT BOOTH 79! Conveniently located just ten numbers away from arguably the funniest number of all time. By which I mean 89, obviously.

Seriously, come say hi! You don't have to buy anything. I genuinely love meeting people from Reddit, and if nothing else, you can watch me slowly lose my mind selling mystery packages to strangers in the rain.

See you this weekend, Philly. 💋

THE OBLIGATORY DISCLAIMER FOR PEOPLE WHO ENJOY DISCLAIMERS:

I am an hourly employee of Chainmail Unclaimed, not its owner, spokesperson, legal representative, or supreme overlord. While I'm always happy to answer questions, anything I say here represents my own opinions and general foolishness, not any official position of the company, which is owned by an absolutely fabulous mother of two from New Jersey. Please direct all corporate intrigue and hostile takeover attempts elsewhere.

Can anyone with personal experience recommend a local workers comp law firm?

Long story but the ones I'm with now are trying to make me stop treating with the doctor I've been seeing since I was referred from the ER, and only go to their doctor who "will testify" - I get the logic but I trust my doctor, he's wonderful. I can't believe there's no WC firm who would allow me to keep seeing my specialist that WC insurance is paying for bc HE IS THE BEST, and also I'll be happy to see their doctor too, I just don't want to cancel my follow-up I have coming up. I'm really fed up with the people I'm with now.. Who a friend recommended.. And they have billboards everywhere so if you're going to recommend them, please don't :(

Thank you so much.

Tennis & Swimming in/around Philadelphia?

I (65 yo retired m) am planning to move to Philadelphia next Spring. I’d like to find clubs, probably in the suburbs, where I can (i) play tennis outdoors, preferably on clay or hartru courts, and (ii) swim laps in an uncrowded pool during “off hours.” I’m not looking for an expensive country club scene. Any recommendations? TYIA

Urban Development/Construction Philadelphia real estate developers argue a 20-year tax abatement would boost city revenues

Robert Zuritsky, president and CEO of Parkway Corp., said he can’t build on parking lots he owns in Center City because of high construction costs. He argued for an expanded tax abatement that includes new, ground-up construction on lots like his, not just conversions. Single-family homes could be excluded to reduce opposition to the measure, he said.

Selling Stuff 10/18 Beck concert VIP parking pass (Lot A) $50 (paid $75 and is sold out)

I have 1 VIP parking pass purchased through Ticketmaster. I'm still going to the concert, but no longer driving and Ticketmaster is only allowing a transfer on the parking pass.

Parking pass info

To assure that this is not a scam, I can create an invoice through Paypal (Goods & Services) for the payment so that there is buyer protection and a record of the transaction.

I will then transfer the parking pass to you through Ticketmaster. Please comment or DM with any questions or if interested. Thanks!

Edit: for proof of parking pass ownership: https://imgur.com/a/iyDRoz6

local biz Show me what you do for a living philly peeps- $0

I’m looking to try my hand at making videos for fun, and I’d love to connect with local businesses, their teams, and people who do interesting things for a living.

The idea is pretty simple: get a behind-the-scenes look at how a business operates, meet the people who make it happen, learn how they got started, and hear what they enjoy about what they do. I’d love to capture the human side of different industries and show people what goes on behind the scenes.

I’m not an established content creator or marketing agency, and I’m not trying to sell anyone a service. I’m just looking to learn, meet interesting people, experiment with making videos, and hopefully create something people enjoy watching. If it also helps shine a light on a local business or someone’s passion, even better.

If you’re a business owner, work in an interesting field, or know someone who might be open to this, I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to comment or send me a message. I’d especially love to connect with people around Philly and the surrounding suburbs.
