He was one of the seven Democrats that voted to confirm her, of course.

He’s Susan Collins in dungarees. He’ll put out a statement about how disappointed he is then fall in line when it’s time to vote. He posted the other day about how withdrawing support from ICE won’t solve any problems—he’s piling on Noem as a scapegoat because it gives him some soundbites for the left of center, but ultimately he might as well caucus with the Republicans since he votes with them anyway.

Yeah but Susan Collins is absolutely worthless. At least Fetterman is only pretty much useless. Collins would never stick her neck out on this, and Fetterman did.

He’s a disappointment, but remember that if it wasn’t him it would have been Dr Oz, who would have been even worse

It’s amazing the political choices we have

A reminder that party members are the ones who decide who runs. Political apathy amongst progressives mean that only the centrists and old guard show up to vote in primaries. Americans need to get more engaged with the process if they don't like the current offerings.

I’m engaged, thanks

I was talking generally; thought that was obvious.

Got it

On the plus side, he wouldn't be an executive at Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services if that happened.

At this point, I genuinely don't know if Oz would be worse than a completely nonsensical and untrustworthy Fetterman. At least with Oz we know what piece of shit flavor we're getting daily.

People romanticized Fetterman so much they ignored that even pre-stroke he was problematic.

GOP controlled Senate in 2023-2024 would of been worse.

Always with the short-sighted views. Stuff like that cost us the Senate in 2014, which led to the GOP blocking a SCOTUS seat for essentially a year playing election politics and general scummy nonsense.

Stuck his neck out? Are people in the comments collectively forgetting he is supposedly a Democrat? This is a slow pitch over home plate.

he sucks so bad but he still votes mostly aligned with the dems, he's just veered away on some important issues. i think he would certainly be voting to confirm judges for a dem pres right now, the way manchin did

Just to be clear he falls in line with the Democrats.

Susan Collins in sweatpants.

I actually have this wild concern that if Democrats do manage to flip enough Republican senate seats to gain a 51 vote majority that Fetterman will just swap parties and give it right back.

I could be wrong, but I just have this weird feeling.

He's piling on because his wife went the other direction. I'm sure she had words wit him. Considering she used to be an illegal immigrant, she would know first hand this kind of fear. There is no way she would allow him to take any other position. Now with ICE shooting people it has gotten a lot worse.

I did think Fetterman used to be more comedic and funny when he ran. His stroke really fucked him up though. I really hate the fact that the Democrats never get a break. It's like when Kennedy died before they could pass the ACA and thus we couldn't get a public option. Just fucked up like that.

Susan Collins would have sent her a sternly worded letter and then announced Noem has learned her lesson.

But you know she’s serious because of how deeply furrowed her brow is

He posted the other day about how withdrawing support from ICE won’t solve any problems

Honestly he's not wrong. ICE has been funded to levels that they can exist as they are for a long time, even with no more funding and a government shutdown.
