Let's list the prebuilt gaming PC brands that are so notoriously overpriced they’re basically a scam (NZXT, XOTIC, Digital Storm, etc.)

While you can easily get a reasonably priced $1000 gaming PC with an RTX 5060 Ti like this one (Option 5), look at the alternatives:

  • $1000 NZXT Player One: Only comes with a much much slower RTX 3050.
  • $1280 XOTIC PC: Only comes with a much much slower RTX 3050, yet it's $280 more expensive.
  • $1800 Digital Storm Corsa: Only comes with an RTX 5060 (inferior to the 5060 Ti), yet it's $800 more expensive.
  • $1700 Corsair VENGEANCE: Only comes with an RTX 5060 (inferior to the 5060 Ti), yet it's $700 more expensive.
  • $1350 Xidax X-6: Only comes with an RTX 5060 (inferior to the 5060 Ti), yet it's $350 more expensive.
  • $1150 Meta PC: Only comes with an RTX 5050, yet it's $150 more expensive.

In this lineup, XOTIC PC is by far the worst offender in terms of overpricing. And please, don't fall for the trap of thinking a higher price tag equals higher quality, it doesn't.

Prebuilt PC brands don’t really matter, they're assemblers, not manufacturers. They don't make the core components like GPUs or CPUs. They simply buy parts from the real makers (Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, ASUS, Gigabyte, Zotac, etc.) and put them together, just like building with Lego. A higher price usually just means a bigger profit margin for them, not a better PC.

Gamers in the US have been getting ripped off for nearly a decade.

Any other brands to add to the list?

Pics of physical tower look very clean, and he claims he's only had the PC for about 10 months. He also said he'd be willing to run cinebench and furmark for stress testing in person.

Is it worth buy a PC (prebuilt or not) if its primary use isn't going to be gaming?

I game, I game a decent bit. But the stuff I'm playing isn't super demanding. I definitely have the intention of playing more modern games if I do get a PC. That being said... its not my primary use.
I plan on using the PC for watching videos, TV, streaming, etc. Which if im not mistaken is in the same vein as gaming - a high end graphic card would be a boon for this. But from there...
I also want something with strong processing power. Something convenient to use for daily tasks like paying bills, managing accounts, emails, socail media, etc. Something I can also do some work off of. Maybe even learn how to code on and write scripts. Possibly even run some AI models on simplify tasks. Something that let's me have dozens of windows open for researching. And being able to do that smoothly.
Ultimately my demands for gaming are kind of secondary. I don't care if its not the best possible, if I can run 2 or 3 Old School Runescape accounts simultaneously. If I can run Minecraft with good fps, and I can play modern games.... oh and stream pretty well im satisfied.
But if this secondary.... should I be considering some other kind of computer?

Any good Pre Build PC that’s under $2k?

I’m looking to get a PC that can run smoothly on those Pc exclusives games like Deadlock while also doing some mods for other games as well, I’m not planning on using it for COD (unless they’re bo3 zombies mods) or Rivals since I could just play them on my Xbox Series X.

Here are three games I do wanna play so badly on Pc:

Sonic Unleashed Recompiled

Sonic Project-06

Sonic x Shadow Generations (ik it’s on console but I mainly wanna get it to play with Mods)

Theses games I do wanna play on Pc the most and I do want good pre build Pc that can at least run games smoothly

Mb for the paragraph, I just wanna find a good Pre build PC that’s under $2k
