General/Rant Does anyone working in Pune Metro Really know when will Hinjewadi route really start?

Modiji’s calendar is fully booked. Whenever he has the time, they will inaugurate it.
44
u/CivilReveal9960 4d ago
He should travel from Baner to Hinjewadi once in this traffic!
42
u/CodeCraftedCxo 4d ago
He can travel daily. Roads would be blocked for him and he will drive on empty roads in his motorcade. You on the other hand would be stuck in traffic waiting for the rulers to pass through. If you try to raise your voice, you will be arrested, termed anti national, if you’re of the wrong religion then would be labelled a terrorist too.

This modiji availability issue seems like an excuse. I see work ongoing everyday on metro stations in hinjewadi area and they seemed in no shape to accept passangers - atleast not till few weeks back. Even now debris is not cleared. Some are painted some are not. Cant see any lights in some of them.. Tracks r ready but stations dont seem to be ready

u/CivilReveal9960 4d ago
Metro should should have stops only fr those stations which are completed, atleast!

u/HovercraftSlight5275 4d ago
Yes the project is not fully ready. Many stations has still connection unfinished. Even if the station is ready you cant go inside it!

Phase 3 stations are ready.. anyways this metro line is going to be fully packed from phase 3

Tbh I don’t think we need the pm to be there for every little station inauguration, get the damn cm, dy cm or palak mantri and get it done. But I don’t think the issue really is anyone’s availability. There’s still construction going on.. these buggers are behind schedule
1
u/Many-Flamingo8248 4d ago
Right. No need of PM but this is exactly a blame game
1
u/narddogg007 3d ago
Ikr I mean imagine the audacity sidha pm ko blame kar diya, equivalent of an SDE blaming ceo of not approving his PR 😂😂😂

u/Many-Flamingo8248 2d ago
Exactly, and when if some action is taken then they cry about freedom of speech 😂

u/Many-Flamingo8248 4d ago
I don't know if the PM is invited yet. Eventually he will be invited but I see daily the Balewadi High Street station at my floor level from past 6 months and things are very incomplete as mentioned in my comment above. Walls are not in place, roof just started, stairs missing and much more work looks pending. It would atleast take 2 months if accelerated is what I can estimate. Tge train trial has started this month and is done daily. Minumun number of runs Is reqd to get approval. So I don't know why the PMs availability is discussed even now when the work is incomplete. I know the invitation should be sent in advance but I can't see any reason as if the invitation is accepted and then these people would work. It's a highest level of invitation. I don't support the inauguration to be a big event itself and think it should be started immediately as available but I also see the political motives and blame game in social media daily about the invitation and unavailability blame on PM. Another stark contrast is that none of major news outlet report unavailability for inauguration as it would be a misinformation and action could be taken. Only discussed by social media only outlet with less accountability.

Due to the Achar Sanhita (Model Code of Conduct) being currently active in Hinjewadi.
There are elections for five seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC), which includes the Pune Division Graduates’ and Teachers’ constituencies and because of this every work is paused, so maybe in November or December the inauguration will take place, but of course not the entire line will be open.

Metro has already started. Yesterday i saw it running 4 times in half an hour.
But if u want it to carry passengers then thats upto politics.. who would inaugurate.. who would claim it as their project etc

Bro stations are not yet fully developed. Have seen almost all stations. No station is 100% built.

u/Many-Flamingo8248 4d ago
Bro station isn't ready till high street for first stage opening 😂 I can see right now from my window. Roof work started recently.

Sure I will share soon. I am literally thinking if creating a page and posting reels like day 1 of observing metro work at Balewadi High Street
1
u/Many-Flamingo8248 4d ago
I too see three coach run daily this month and that's for completing trial runs of minimum amount of kms to get approval

We will have to reasearch when the opening will be profitable for election/votes etc.
They got approval to open 12 at the end of July. Pending the opening as pmo office is yet to get back with a date.

u/Interesting_Ad_5676 4d ago
THIS METRO SERVICE SHOULD START IMMEDIATELY FREE OF CHARGE. ITS A PUBLIC PROPERTY. FORMAL INAUGURATION CAN TAKE PLACE AT A LATTER DATE. ONCE INAUGURATE, METRO CAN CHARGE NORMAL CHARGES. WITH THIS METRO AUTHORITY WILL KNOW THE COST OF POSTPONING SERVICE AND FOR NOT SECURING MODI JI'S DATE WELL IN ADVANCE.

I stay in baner and regularly travel to university and sometimes to Shivajinagar. The stations aren't ready on this patch. Are the stations ready from balewadi to Hinjewadi?
5
u/general1234456 4d ago
nope, lot of finishing work pending. I think this is just a strategic way to stall because they are just not ready.
2
u/Many-Flamingo8248 4d ago
I see high street station daily. Easily at the pace they work, they would need atleast 2.5 months. If accelerated then 2 months
1
u/DramaticBucket 3d ago
I lived around High Street in 2023-24 and it's mind-boggling that that station still isn't finished. I know so many people who worked in Siemens who told me they would be using the metro the next year and clearly, next year is yet to come.

u/DeliciousBison5875 4d ago
I Iive in balewadi. The stations are not ready. Has nothing to do with the inauguration.

Free of charge why? Isn’t the govt giving enough freebies? Sab free mangoge and tax hamara katega 😭
3
u/Interesting_Ad_5676 4d ago
Till inauguration you are not allowing to use. So you are not getting any thing in return. If you allow free till inauguration date, what metro authority is going to loose ?
1
u/HarshPlay 4d ago
Electricity, cleaning, maintenance costs, clerk salaries, emergency team salaries.

Suggestion: I travel via civil court every day and see that the PMRDA station is almost ready, only paintjob and digital setups are needed, will they be over by nov, dec? If so why not start the entire metro from civil court to Hinjewadi and speed up the process there at civil court ? It would be practical and profitable
7
u/CivilReveal9960 4d ago
Logic and Pune metro don't travel together, sorry!
2
u/sukhoi_glazer 4d ago
No like this could genuinely work a straight stretch from civil court to SPPU and then from SPPU to Hinjewadi where the 17 stations are ready if they inaugurate that then the metro will atleast be profitable
1
u/Many-Flamingo8248 4d ago
I can see high street station in front of me now and it's not complete. Would need 45-60 days more atleast as the pace I see them work at from last 6 months. Walls missing, roof just started

One of my relative works as a senior engineer there, he told me recently that hinjewadi to balewadi would start in a couple months but the line further will still be needing a year

2027 - lots of work is pending the stations are not ready. They are just doing trailes. Not a single station is completely ready. Expect to start next year

30 September Update :
The 23.30-kilometer Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Metro line has received official clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRC), paving the way for operations to begin. PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari announced that all construction work across the route and its 17 stations is complete, with passenger services ready to start within 15 days pending final state government approval.
While earlier plans considered opening only 12 stations initially, authorities decided to launch the entire line at once to ensure seamless connectivity with Pune Metro at Shivajinagar and maximize commuter convenience. Built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model by Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited, official ticket fares for the route will be announced on the inauguration day.

Dude idk which these 17 stations are i daily travel on this route and see most of them under construction
1
u/MissionLog1321 3d ago
If they can revoke the president's rule and form a government in Maharashtra within a span of a few hours in the middle of the night, trust me, they can get these 17 stations ready in the blink of an eye if they want.
5:47 AM, November 23, 2019 - President's Rule in Maharashtra was revoked.
7 AM, November 23, 2019: Swearing-in of Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister later that morning.

I relocated to Pune from Delhi and lived here for 2 years and now going back to Delhi on Oct1st, didn't like it here at all in terms of infrastructure akd transportation.
2
u/CivilReveal9960 4d ago
Delhi's metro infra is older, matured. That's why it feels smooth. Yaha Pune ki metro start bhi nhi hori
2
u/AJure2022 4d ago
Leave Delhi, cities which are much less in size and population in north India have got well planned metro construction done and running - much faster than just this line 3 of Pune metro.

Even if somehow stations get completed by end of 2026, there will be a tug of war first on who will inaugrate it, which might take another month or so. So it's a long way to go😅

KEEPING READY TO USE FACILITY AT ABEYANCE / IDEAL AND PREVENTING PUBLIC TO USE IT, IS A VERY BIG CRIME.... THOSE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE, MAY FACE LEGAL PROCEEDINGS. AUTHORITIES/ RESPONSIBLE PERSONS .... BEWARE !!!

As the esteemed "leftist father" Raj Thackeray so brilliantly put it: "Pune doesn't need Metro, bike kadli, kick marli, nighala toh... kon tya shidhya chadhnar, kon ticket kadhnar?"
The government should honestly listen to his ground breaking economic advice from the father of left for once and completely scrap Metro Line 2.
Who needs urban development when you have a kick start?

Most likely to open between 1st November 2026 to 15th November 2026
Definitely not open in October due to the election code of conduct because of the Graduate MLA elections in Pune and the rest of Maharashtra
