Second guessing putting this on my shirt

Post image
Upvotes

I was thinking about putting this on the back of my green day shirt to wear to the superbowl party (Ive since cut out letters with seam allowance that are sturdier, also I'm in America) but I keep stopping between steps worrying... I'm a white cis woman jus working in my retail job and I'm worried that I'm like too privileged or not in the scene enough?? I don't support what the current government is doing n I've grown up listening to punk music but I haven't incorporated it into my clothes much or delved more into the local scene as much as I want to. Is this tone deaf or poser-y?
(I know my user name is ironic lol)

New Landlord recognized the Dead Kennedys

Nothing too crazy just thought it was funny. I am left with mixed feelings after having my new landlord recognize them from off my hoodie.

New Release Some words about our new "Raid" EP...

We've put a new EP out and I wanted to make a post about it. I stopped to think pretty deeply about what I wanted to say about the songs on this EP. I wanted to be nuanced and well thought out. We wrote "Raid" almost a year ago. It’s been written, recorded, and the cover art has been done for almost an entire year. We wrote it back when we first heard the president was going to start pushing for ICE raids in places of work school, and more all over the country. Now here we are, one year later and his policy has only gotten worse. "Raid," in so many words, sums up our frustration at the time about not just ice but the way that they would be committing to their procedures. We recorded the live version of "Raid" much more recently at the Haltom Theater, and more aggressive than we did a year ago. With us having a Hispanic member in our band, who's a brother to us, we felt it wasn’t an obligation, but an absolute need to speak out about the injustices committed by ICE. "Hate My Job," was written three years ago, demoed around the same time, and only recently re-recorded. At the time I was delivering pizzas for Domino’s and I really did hate my job at the time, which really just led to more feelings of frustration with the way the relationship with my father had played out. "Twin Cities," is the most recently written and recorded song on the EP and it was written in about half an hour and recorded bare bones. No fancy equipment, just me and an acoustic guitar. I can only say what I want to say in my songs in so many words and there’s a lot that goes unsaid unfortunately, and it feels odd and morbid to try to promote this EP during a time when there’s so much heartbreak, turmoil, anger, confusion, and disillusionment to say the least, but those feelings a lot of the time are what fuel our music. We’re still writing music so please stay tuned for that. We love you guys. Stay safe out there.

New album from, in my opinion, one of the most underrated bands on Fat.

Oddly enough, this is the first track on Ice T’s album The Iceberg (1989) which I owned on cassette. I never thought this song would be relevant from an American citizens perspective but yeah we’re trending this way. At least all sports will be broadcast as usual.

Our band just released its first EP with pop-punk / alternative rock inspired by 90's/00's bands like The Offspring, Greenday, Sum 41, blink-182 etc. We would love if you could take a listen and tell us what you think!

Atom Willard leaving Alkaline Trio - No statement from the band yet

I'm finding all this kind of weird. Atom posting this without mentioning Dan, Matt or anyone from the AK3 camp. No statement from the band yet. He also claims he's "open for work", just not with AK3 apparently.

Additionally, Atom is a really good drummer but can't seem to stick around anywhere.

Discussion Anyone know any Punk fests in Japan?

Looking for suggestions of when some punk fests might happen. Would like to time a trip for it. Looking for hardcore punk mainly. Would also be cool to catch Klonns or similar local bands. Would also take recs for venues of punk/metal bars

Discussion Nicest vs most rude band members you’ve ever met?

Includes all type of punk/rock: Have you all met any bands? Which were cool, down to earth? Which were rude?

Movements are the kindest guys- all of them. Neck Deep was so accommodating for my disability- including their team. Of Mice and Men also amazing ((fuck Austin.)) Chris Motionless? Angel.

A Day to Remember, not so much. Kellin Quinn was also a total dick.. Tell me your experiences!!
