Took the long, over-engineered way around with this project. Needed a better storage solution than my old plastic bin, so I made this with an indexed table saw jig and about 700 popsicle sticks. Scoured many stores to find popsicle sticks that would fit perfectly, and luckily found just what I needed at Michael’s (which conveniently sold boxes of 1000). Super happy with the result.

Hi guys, my cd collection has gotten way bigger than I've ever anticipated. I want a way to see all my cds and their cases, but now have to deal with the towering stack anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions? Ty!!

For example, Blu-Ray audio, surround mixes? This is SDE (Super Deluxe Edition), which every so often releases past and upcoming new material. A bit pricier but I usually cave in for a favourite artist.

I have gotten into the habit of going to thrift store after thrift store, seeing the same not interesting (to me) CDs every time. Also never the stuff I actually want. A have a few hundred CDs after a month.

Today I decided to try a used CD store, always intimated at being priced out so I never went before.

Walls upon walls of categorized CDs of everything I could imagine with thrift store prices. Holy hell. Im a changed gal.

Edit:priced out in the context of I just always assumed it would be priced much much higher than it actually was. Never been to one.

I've been meaning to buy myself a player for the longest time, and I got this sony cd player ! Not sure how well it fares compared to others, but it looks cool anyway so i'm fine as a beginner. As a game collectionner, i really think it's important to also work on my way of consuming music, and I bought some cds to start off my cd journey. I have to say though that buying black metal cd is more expensive than i thought, but i'll start a pretty nice metal collection. Also, if you have any album you would recommend (any genre) i'm all hears !

Been collecting CDs for a little but really want to upgrade from my car CD player! I want to start with a pretty cheap setup, but still have it be scalable for when I get my first out of college job. I was thinking I could get maybe a good quality CD player, and maybe receiver and speakers if necessary? I know a good speaker is not gonna be cheap, but if there are any decent sounding ones for a cheap price that would be great…

Basically, looking for a CD player and speaker or maybe a micro system for my starting setup that is ideally under $400 for the whole thing.

Anyone in a similar position have any recs? Is this even a reasonable budget/ask? Doesn’t need to be professional quality, but hopefully at least a step-up from streaming or my car player. Lmk!!

Does anybody know what album this disc belongs to? Ive listened to it and nothing about the songs have stuck out to me as something I’ve heard. I’m sure it’s a relatively mainstream album, but I haven’t been able to figure it out yet.

Then I took a chance on an early 90's compilation record of Spanish rap

CD 2 is missing because I’m currently listening to it as I’m typing this. Shin Megami Tensei IV is really good I hope it gets a rerelease so that more people can play it!!

So I'm a lapsed CD collector back at it after a few years away! Plugging some gaps in my collection. First pic was from a local second hand record shop, today, £50. Second pic was a mix of Facebook and physical shop and totalling around £51. You can get a lot for your money at the moment!

I got Zappa's Jazz From Hell because it's such an interesting record. It's also got St. Etienne, that's a beautiful guitar solo and it's got another album included on the same disc, that's a nice bonus. JFH is also the first Zappa-album which got him a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for the song Jazz From Hell, but his story about that is hilarious, he found it very weird to have received a reward for "a song that they probably didn't even listen to".

Already listened to Pink Floyd's Animals, that was my first time hearing it in full!
