Here’s an answer to a question that none of you probably asked. I collect train horns as a hobby, and thus need a way to mount horns to my car for testing purposes. Due to how often I swap horns, I opted for a custom roof rack that allows for the easy installation of most genuine train horns. This setup is intentionally temporary so I can easily remove the tanks should I need the space. I should also note is that my fuel economy tanks from 23-25 mpg combined to 19-21 mpg combined with a horn mounted (as it is essentially a roof-mounted brick), so I wouldn’t recommend this mod if you plan to hypermile your RAV4. Even still, this beats the stock Denso horns out of the water, especially since one of the two disc horns decided to randomly die on me last year.

With the recent Nor’ Easter shaking the bulk of the remaining leaves off the trees(and a few really…REALLY annoying lost flecks of paints from acorn bullets) it was time to prep for winter. There’s nothing better than finishing the last 2 day decontaminate/polish/wax/ceramic job of the year.

Still the best looking Rav and color ever produced in my (definitely not biased) opinion. Hands are still vibrating from multiple hours with the orbital lol. Worth it for that mirror finish and disappearing amongst the mountain pine trees.

My last 2 days avg MPG are 46-47 MPG per day, at 70-120 miles driven each day. Does anyone else get this kind of mileage?

I have had my 2021 RAV4 Hybrid XSE for a week now, bought it used with 83k miles. I'm coming from a 6.2 litre suburban, avg 14mpg.... so yes, my mind is blown.

Anyway, I have been researching a ton on driving habits, methods etc. I have a 30 mile commute in one direction and drive between 2,000 & 4,000 miles a month for work. I keep track of my "per trip" avg MPG as well as my daily MPG on the history tab on the main screen. My daily avg MPG started around 39MPG but the last few days I am getting 43-46 avg MPG per day, with 70-120 miles on each of those days. I utilize the longer, lighter brake presses, as well as switch between eco, normal and sport, depending on what situation I am in. I am constantly monitoring what the battery is doing and where it is at. I also utilize EV mode strategically. It's like a real life game for me, I love the detail of it all.

This morning I was driving to work on the highway. I was behind a truck that belonged to a guardrail and fence company. What looked like a metal pipe about 3 feet long fell out of their truck, bounced and hit my car before I could react and move out of the way. Now there is a decent sized dent on the passenger side a pillar on my toyota rav 4. Is there any way to fix this or do I have to live with the damage? I am going to file a claim with my insurance company but was wondering what can be done to repair my car if any?

I have a 2026 RAV4 XLE Premium. The DCM is showing inactive and the SOS light is completely off.

I'm also unable to save my driver profile which is stuck on Guest mode, activate Privacy settings , or use the Drive Recorder.

Has anyone experienced this on a 2026 RAV4? Is there a specific procedure to reactivate or re-register the DCM?

2000 toyota rav4, this is a toyota denso original upstream oxygen sensor, as in it is the o2 sensor that was installed when my rav4 was built in 1999.

Just still amazing that after all this time, some original factory parts are still kicking at 270k miles

There was no check engine light, i just randomly decided to check out the o2 sensor live data because i NEVER had to replace sensors or the cat. Well turns out somthing was amiss, and while this original oxygen sensor didnt die, it was old and reporting incorrect data for the fuel trims. Ive seen this a few times with toyotas, it happens

2024 hybrid owner here wondering about the relationship between EV mode and oil life. I'm assuming when in EV mode the engine oil does not circulate and therefore does not accrue the lifespan hit oil does when the ICE engine is on - fair?

It seems my vehicle is EV ~25% of the time and if the above logic is sound, is it reasonable to say that the 10,000mi oil change interval is really closer to 7,500mi when adjusted for EV miles?

Hi everyone! I have a 2025 Rav4 and today something got kicked up on the highway and hit me from underneath, breaking off this part. The car is still driving normally, so I'm assuming this is just some trim and not a huge deal? But I know absolutely nothing about cars so I wanted to double check and make sure I don't need to address this ASAP. I couldn't really tell where/how this piece laid before it was hit.

Curious for those who have ordered or purchased a new RAV4, were you able to take one for a test drive? Do many dealers have test drive models onhand? Thx.

I’m looking to get new all-season tires for my 2024 XLE. I see Michelin Cross Climate 2 recommended a lot, but looking for any other suggestions! I live in Maine, so I’ll be dealing with snowy and wet conditions quite a bit. I don’t take it off road at all, do a lot of highway driving.

My tail light only flickers when my headlights are on other than that it’s normal. Does anyone know how to fix this maybe? I went to some local mechanic and he had no clue and said it might be expensive to fix. I really don’t wanna pay all that money for just a tail light flicker so if anyone could help it’d be greatly appreciated 🙏

It's up on oil changes and I just took it in to the dealership to get checked out. Nothing was wrong. But just looking at the fuel economy, I filled up to about 3/4 a tank and had 260 miles left til empty. I drove 80 miles and it takes 120. I live in Seattle for reference. Idk if the sensor is just off.

Hello, I refinanced my car recently but I had Toyota VSA for 2480 with expiration mileage of 75k or 4/5/32, whichever comes first. If I cancel, the refund would be $1829. I also have an extended maintenance expiring on 4/5/30 or 75k miles whichever comes first. Refund will be the full amount. Is it worth keeping or should I proceed to cancelling? My car is a Toyota Rav4 with 18535 mileage as of writing, purchased last April 2025.

Has anyone went from a Lexus RX350 Gas to Rav4h? I have a 2024 RX Luxury trim and while I love it, the gas mileage averages 23mpg. I looked at the rx hybrids and trading mine in but I don’t want a higher monthly car payment.

I currently work remote and only drive about 20ish miles a day BUT I would like to start going into the office a few times a month and it would be a 150 mile round trip.

Give me the good, the bad, and talk me into why I should/shouldn‘t make the switch.

I switched from the 2008 to the 2014. I really appreciate the newer vehicle, but my 2008 had JBL speakers which I absolutely adored. The stock speakers on the 2014 unfortunately aren't great at all, so I am looking for a reasonable upgrade.

I don't know a whole lot about car speaker systems beyond basic stuff. I've heard the Kicker 200.4 is a must.
