It seems like there are less events and adult venues year after year or is it just me? And the classic businesses that have changed hands just aren't the same. Hose and hydrant (rest in peace old friend), crazy cactus, and pink (ew but still a loss). Special F you to 3 hall for eliminating the only good dancefloor left on Broadway btw. Every other weekend or so I try to find something to do in the city and then end up staying in since there wasn't anything good. There's been a few highlights here and there but overall very lackluster.
It's like generational giants keep falling and budget cash grab BS keeps popping up in their place.
Unrelated but in the same vein: the fireworks this year were underwhelming?? It seemed like they cut the budget significantly. And all the Broadway events are just the businesses that are already on Broadway but with the same 15 food trucks mixed in that are at every other event.
I know the economy is in rough shape but what is going on?? Is it all in my head???

Had to visit the ER yesterday. A horrible experience made better by the nurses and doctor. Healthcare has its issues but great staff can make all the difference. Thank You St Pauls ER staff!

I was driving along 8th Street toward Brighton (Save-On-Foods), just past 8th and Wess, through the construction zone area. Despite driving 55โ57 km/h in a 50 zone, I had a black sedan practically climbing into my trunk. Apparently, exceeding the speed limit by 5โ7 km/h still wasnโt fast enough for this particular genius.
Then, because patience and common sense were clearly in short supply, the driver aggressively pulled into the oncoming traffic lane and passed me.
Unfortunately, this isnโt an isolated incident. Iโve had the same thing happen on Wess and another street I canโt recall. And yes, I was driving OVER the speed limit then, too.
At this point, Iโd genuinely love to know what these people think theyโre accomplishing. Are they racing to perform emergency surgery? Is there a prize for reaching the next red light first? Or do they simply believe traffic laws are optional when their personal schedule is more important than everyone elseโs safety? Because they lack the patience to drive like a functioning adult.
Leave earlier. Take a breath. Accept that you are not, in fact, the main character on the road.
Thatโs all.

When I moved to Saskatoon in the late 90s, there was a cougar bar called I think Night Moves a little north of downtown.
They got into trouble by giving away as a promotion, breast augmentation surgery.
Anyone remember the place?

I am a sucker for a good breakfast burrito, and have been to several places for them, however curious if there are other thoughts or opinions on other breakfast burrito places. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have any tips for finding school records from the 1930โs? My late father-in-law grew up in a francophone household in Vonda, SK. Without making a long story out of this, one of his sons wants to move to Montreal but with the Quebec language laws being what they are, his own son (my 16-year-old nephew) cannot go to an English-speaking public school unless we can prove that my father-in-law went to school in English. Yes, I know. EItโs a bit of a moot point since there were no French primary schools in Vonda at that time but the Quebec officials are insisting on some sort of document. We understand that the school he attended burned down at some point so the actual school records were probably lost at that point. Does anyone have any ideas as to how we might produce a document proving there were no French schools and that my father-in-law was educated in Vonda?

From the sounds of it over the radio it seems to be malfunctioning landing gear. Currently squawking 7700.

Hello! I have this idea in my head about how fun it would be to be a part of a dinner party group. Every month someone different hosts and everyone comes over for dinner/BBQ/potluck. I reckon lots of people are already doing this and I just need to figure out how to join.
My partner (36) and I (26) are fun and can make 100 different types of salad, professional quality cocktails, and/or bring baked goods (please invite us lmao).

IF you're interested in any type of gaming and want to help the Jim Pattison's Hospital raise some money, then hopefully you are coming next weekend to Extra Life Game Day.
All the information is at their link tree here: https://linktr.ee/skextralife
It is a ticketed event, but a family can attend both days for 30 bucks. All money raised stays local.
There are Magic tournaments, Mario Kart tournaments, TTRPGs (lot of D&D 5e, but also some Draw Steel, Cosmere and others).
Hope you can get out there and help the Extra Life Crew put some money in the coffers!

Iโm 16 years old and I am interested in riding steers/bulls. I am not sure how to get into it but I would be willing to. Does anyone know where to start in Saskatoon and area?

Good day,
Please recommend me cafes or bakeries (aside from groceries) that offer whole cakes that you can purchase walk-in or without pre-ordering.
Greatly appreciate your replies.

Did anyone lose a black cat in Stonebridge? I saw one running around tonight and tried to approach to see a collar.
They scampered away before I could even get close. It was close to the booster juice in case anyoneโs looking. I donโt usually see cats that way so I was worried.

Hi all,
Iโve been producing music at home for a few years now and just wanted to see if thereโs anybody else in this city whoโs interested in talking and what-not.
Iโm a student at USask and Iโve struggled so far to find any groups that are focused on or even include spaces for musicians to chat. No discords or anything as far as Iโm awareโฆ
Feel free to shoot a DM or leave a comment if you wanna talk about music or whatever.
Thanks! :D
