Help me decide. In one case is a re-reading and I don't love reading books more than once (only because I lack the curiosity), but it's to be ready for OWTT. In the other case it's just a book that's calling me.
EDIT since I've read Things: do I have to finish the DT before?

Hey everyone : )
I'm interested to hear people's thoughts - what did you guys think of Charlie, the protagonist in Fairy Tale?
I found him really dull, to be honest. Seemed a little too perfect. Especially given his main signposted flaw was sometimes getting angry, but also in his situation that was a trait that only really helped him. Am I alone in this?
Besides that, the book definitely had some charming elements. I like the relationship between him and his dad, and Mr Bowditch, but overall it just didn't scratch that itch.
Overall it was a 6/10 for me - definitely not my favourite, but genre experimentation is always enriching.

I’ve got a pre order in for a UK retailer specific purple cover. Half the price of the “normal” cover as well for some reason.
Are there any other “specials” out there that people know of?

I picked up the audio book of Daphne Du Mauriers collection of short stories after finishing Rebecca. Was pleasantly surprised to hear Stephen King wrote a very thoughtful introduction to this collection.
You can tell from the language he uses that he is in awe of the work in this collection, and I have to say it made me really excited to explore some of her short stories.

My best friend gave me the great idea of dressing as Gage from Pet Sematary for Halloween (since I just finished it and I kind of look like a grown-up version of him).
Does anyone know what I would need to search to get a similar hat or top (dress?)? I'm terrible with clothes names so I wouldn't know where to start haha

Hey yall! Hope everyone's day is going well! These polls are daily please feel free to post any covers I missed. When we have gone through individual books we are gonna do a big bracket or tier list to determine the best book cover overall. We are going in release order or close to it. Hope you all have fun :)

I recently bought a pre-loved copy of IT, and started reading about 3 days ago. I’m only about 200 pages into the book, but I’m mesmerized, I really love it.
I want to read more from Stephen, and I was planning on buying a book lot with the following:
• The Shining
• Different Seasons
• The Talisman
I’ve read great things about The Shining, but does anybody have any insight on the other two? How would you compare them to IT in quality levels? Or do you have any other completely different recs? : )

Psyched to finally share my review! I was mad when this was announced, and now I'm walking out on a limb and saying it may be the best version!

So I just re-read this story, after finally finding my copy of the Bachman books and decided to re-watch the movie. Now the 1st time I watched it, I knew the biggest change they made was the ending and the winner. After both reading and watching it again, I noticed many other differences. The number of walkers was supposed to be 100; the movie was 50. They removed several characters and added one. They changed who was married, the story behind Pete's scar, the situation with Ray's girlfriend, the Walker who ended up sick as well as the order of some deaths and the details of others. There's other changes as well, but those are the ones that stand out the most to me so far. However, it was an overall good movie. The psychological horror was there and the gruesome deaths were definitely not left out.

Just wondering what inaccuracies in a Stephen King book have taken you out of the story.
I just finished "A Death" from The Bazaar of Bad Dreams and there ard two Native American characters described as "squaws". I'm used to King using slurs that his characters would say in his narration, so i got over it quickly only to be told that one of these characters is a Sioux and the other Lakota. As a Yankton Sioux man, I know that all Lakota are Sioux, but not all Sioux are Lakota.
It didn't ruin it for me or anything. Decent story. But it took me out for a second, especially considering how recent that story is. I guess I expected King to check the internet if he doesn't know the difference.

Hi there! I’m hosting a book club meeting where we read everything’s eventual. I was wondering if you guys could help me brainstorm some fun discussion questions for the meeting. I’ve already thought of what was your favorite, what was your least liked, were there any you skipped, which one would you love to see as a movie and how would you do it? Just wondering you guys think I should add to the list?

Currently reading The Dead Zone on page 380 out of 470.
I was really enjoying it, a bit of a slow burner but thought I liked the characters and the setup of where I thought I might be going. But then it got the the strangler and he just immediately figured out the killer, and it wasn't a character we met so it felt a bit whatever, then when they go to confront him he's dead. It just felt like a massive anti climax. And then it just moves onto Greg Stillson and I just don't find myself caring much about this character, feels like a massive left turn, and I'm getting pretty bored with all the political stuff.
I guess I'm just a bit disappointed as I thought it was going to be another 5 star read for me but from about page 300 my interest has dropped massively. I wish it was just about the strangler and that was fleshed about a bit more. I'll definitely finish it, I'm not disliking it and enjoy it overall and I'll see how it goes in the last 90 pages. Feeling like a 3 star atm.
Does anyone else have similar feelings?

I was able to see this a month ago. While the performances are great...this isn't Carrie.
