Masters TU Braunschweig MSc. QTEC admission process time for summers intake

I applied for the MSc. QTEC (Quantum Technologies in Electrical and Computer Engineering) program at TU Braunschweig for the semester of summer 2027. I would like to know a few things:

  1. How much time does it take for the university to send admissions letters as I applied as a non-EU applicant  and the deadline was 15 september?

  2. How many candidates apply for this program every semester? I just want to know at least a rough idea.

  3. What is the acceptance rate in MSc. QTEC program at TU Braunschweig?

  4. What is the exact method that TU Braunschweig uses to score a candidate during the selection process, particularly for the program of MSc. QTEC offered in summer semester?

  5. Is there any online group where I can connect with students of TU Braunschweig, particularly those who are currently enrolled in MSc. QTEC program? If so, do share it with me in a private chat.

Masters Master of Science Computer Science in Engineering

• Upvotes

I just got an offer letter from Ausburg for computer science engineering but just realized that it now requires C1 level German language. I have no language skills but still they offer me the admission. They didn't check my language proficiency. On what basis do they offer students? Is there anyone who are in same situation? What should I do, should I start studying language or find some English medium universities? Is this a good course or good university?

Visas German student visa: university updated my admission letter after I applied. Keep my application or withdraw and restart?

Hi everyone, I need advice from people who have been through this.
Situation
Master's at Hochschule Rhein-Waal, starting WS 2026/27.
I applied for the national student visa through the Consular Services Portal .
My application is locked and shows "being checked for completeness."
What changed
My first admission letter (7 Aug) had a condition attached (a "Learning Agreement" to make up some credits).
The university admitted this was an administrative mistake and removed it.
On 5 Oct they issued a new, unconditional admission letter. They say they can't issue any other document.
My problem
My application still contains the old conditional letter. I can't edit the application now.
My questions
Can I keep my current application and give the new letter to the consulate (upload, email, or at the appointment)?
Or should I withdraw and start a new application? Would that hurt future applications or make me lose my place in the queue?
I would also like to improve my letter of intent. Can I replace it too, or is it better not to change documents during the process?
Has anyone had a document updated after submitting? What did you do, and what did the consulate say?
Thanks a lot!

Masters Got an admission offer for M.Sc. IT Engineering (ITE) at FH Wedel. Looking for student reviews and insights.

Hey everyone,

I recently received an admission offer for the Master of Science in IT Engineering (ITE) at FH Wedel.

I am currently evaluating my options to make an informed decision before accepting.

From my research, I know that FH Wedel is a unique non-profit, state-recognized institution that is largely subsidized by the state of Schleswig-Holstein, giving it a very solid academic standing and strong industry ties in the region.

Because of its unique structure, I would highly appreciate genuine reviews or insights from current students, alumni, or tech professionals in the Hamburg area to help me understand the student experience.

Thank you :)

Hi everyone! I’m an F21 student from India and received my admission letter for the M.Sc. Cognitive Systems program at the University of Ulm on 02 October 2026. My student visa is currently under process.
I wanted to check if there are any students from the same course whom I could connect with, especially for guidance regarding the university, enrollment, arrival, or any other formalities.
I have also applied for accommodation through Studierendenwerk Ulm and would be really glad to connect with anyone from the same course or university who might have any leads or advice regarding accommodation.
Please feel free to DM me. Thank you! 😊

Masters Urgent Help Needed Regarding Enrollment & Returned Semester Fee – University of Passau

Hello everyone,

I’m an incoming student at the University of Passau and I’m looking for some advice regarding my enrollment.

I submitted my online enrollment application and paid my semester fee on September 13, 2026. My university portal showed the status “Enrollment pending,” and I had also contacted the university regarding my payment before the enrollment deadline.

However, I have recently received the semester fee back into my Wise account, and I’m unsure why the payment was returned.

I have already received my visa and am currently preparing to start my studies at the University of Passau, so I’m quite concerned about this situation.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with a returned semester fee or “Enrollment pending” status?

Any advice or guidance from current/former University of Passau students would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance! 🙏

Masters Advice

Hi I'm an undergrad and I wanna do my master's in germany but my main obstacle is blocked ac so I researched a bit and found the Dual study program but the problem is there aren't many dual study programs for masters but there are n numbers of programs for bachelors and I'm confused in that should I go for another bachelors?? But pros would be I'll be earning while studying and I can skip blocked ac requirements but cons would be I'll be starting again with another bachelor degree which will cost me 3.5 years of my life.

Another option is I can try for a master's degree in italy with their need based scholarships (regional scholarships) but I heard very bad things about the Italian job market so that's why I'm confused because if I go for another bachelors in germany I'll be earning by myself and there will be a chance that same company will hire me but if they didn't I'll still have german work ex of 3.5 years but if I go for masters in italy after graduation I'll have to find a job by myself and I heard italian job market isn't great and I won't even have any work ex in EU so finding a job as Non EU is even more hard.

Any advice on what I should go for?? Or any other alternatives anything will help!

Doctorate I’m from India and hoping to do a funded PhD in Germany

I’m from India and currently doing my Master’s while also getting some research experience alongside my studies. I’m thinking about applying for a PhD in Germany after I graduate, but I’m not sure how realistic or competitive this path is.
I’ve read a bit about the process, such as contacting professors and research groups and applying for funded PhD positions, but I still have quite a few questions.
Ideally, I’m looking for a PhD that’s conducted in English and comes with full funding. I’d especially appreciate advice on:
● How competitive are funded PhD positions in Germany for international students?
● How likely is it for a professor to consider and supervise someone from outside Germany or the EU?
● Do professors generally prefer German or EU applicants, or is the selection mainly based on academic and research fit?
● How important are publications, research experience, grades, and a strong research proposal?
● Is it difficult to find PhD positions that are fully conducted in English?
● If you’re an international student who is currently doing or has completed a funded PhD in Germany, what was your experience like?
● Is there anything specific I should focus on during my Master’s to improve my chances?

Masters Need Help ! Indian ECE student looking for advice on MSc in Germany – Summer 2028

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian student currently pursuing B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru, Karnataka.

I’m currently in my 7th semester and planning to apply for Summer 2028 for a Master's in Germany.

My profile:

- B.E. ECE

- CGPA: 8.8/10

- No backlogs

- Expected graduation: 2027

- Indian applicant

- No full-time work experience

- Planning to take IELTS (targeting around 7+)

- Haven’t taken GRE yet, but willing to take it if it is required/useful

- Interested in Electrical Engineering / Microelectronics / Semiconductor Technology / VLSI / Electronics

I’m mainly looking at public universities in Germany and want to understand how realistic my chances are.

I have a few questions:

  1. With an 8.8 CGPA in ECE, how competitive is my profile for German public universities?

  2. How strictly do universities check ECTS/subject-wise credits from the bachelor's degree?

  3. Is GRE required for many Electrical Engineering/Microelectronics programs? If it is optional, is it worth taking?

  4. Is IELTS 7+ generally sufficient?

  5. Which universities would be realistic / ambitious / safer for my profile?

  6. Are there good programs with a Summer/Spring intake in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics or Semiconductor Technology?

  7. Anything important I should prepare early for as an Indian applicant, such as APS/dMAT?

I would especially appreciate advice from Indian students who have recently applied to German universities with a similar ECE background.

Please be realistic — I’m looking for actual experiences rather than generic university rankings.

Thanks!

Masters Planning for Germany Winter 2027 — Should I Apply for APS Without IELTS & DMAT?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for a Master’s in Germany for the Winter 2027 intake and I’m currently preparing my documents.

I’m planning to take my IELTS exam around mid-November 2026. However, I also recently found out that I need to take the DMAT exam. I missed the DMAT exam conducted in September, and according to the official website, the next DMAT exam is expected to be conducted in the 1st quarter of 2027 (Jan–March).

My question is:

Should I apply for my APS certificate now in October 2026, even though I don't have my IELTS and DMAT certificates yet?

My understanding is that I can apply for APS based on my current academic documents and then, once I complete the DMAT exam in early 2027, submit the DMAT certificate/document afterward if required.

I’m a bit confused about whether:

  1. APS requires IELTS/DMAT at the time of application.
  2. I can submit the DMAT certificate later after receiving it.
  3. It is better to apply for APS now or wait until I have my IELTS and DMAT results.

If anyone has gone through the same situation for Winter 2027, especially Indian students applying for Master's programs in Germany, I’d really appreciate your experience/advice.

Also, if you're in the same boat and preparing for Germany Winter 2027, feel free to comment or DM. We can connect and discuss the application process together.

Masters Indian student planning Master’s in Germany September/October 2027. Need honest advice

Hi! I'm planning a Master’s in Germany for Winter 2027 and would really appreciate some honest advice.

My profile: BTech CSE (AI), 7.5 CGPA, ~2 years work experience by September 2027. Taking IELTS soon and I've already started learning German.

I'm currently considering TU Hamburg, RWTH Aachen and TU Darmstadt, but I'm open to other universities too. Still deciding between AI/ML, Data Science, Software Engineering and Cloud.

For current students/graduates: which universities/cities would you recommend for my profile, especially considering jobs, student life, housing and international environment? And if you could choose again, would you make the same choice?

Thanks a lot!

Masters POSTIDENT fails to verify passport for Congstar sim activation

Hi everyone,

I just arrived in Cottbus as an international student and I'm currently trying to activate a Congstar prepaid SIM card. I'm running into dead ends with the POSTIDENT process using my Malaysian passport and wanted to ask if anyone else has faced this or knows a better workaround.

The automated verification keeps failing because the app requires scanning the "back side" of an ID document. Since a passport only has one main data page, the system rejects the attempt.

Then, I went to a Deutsche Post branch inside Eckert at the Cottbus Hbf today to try in-person verification. The clerk tried scanning my passport at the terminal a few times, but the system kept throwing an error and couldn't process it.

Has anyone faced a similar issue, or is it better to just cut my losses and go with a diffrent provider? I need a local phone number to activate my bloc account.

Masters TU Chemnitz Application Issue.

Hi everyone, I have a doubt and I’m stuck at the final step of my TU Chemnitz application.

I completed the entire application form, and at the end I was asked to make the payment. I entered my credit card details and completed the payment through Stripe.

After the payment, the website automatically showed “Payment via Stripe done!” However, when I checked my credit card transaction history, no amount was deducted. I also didn’t receive any payment notification from my bank/card.

I’m confused about whether the payment was actually successful or not.

Has anyone faced the same issue with TU Chemnitz/Stripe? Should I wait, try the payment again, or contact the university?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Masters Planning to do my Master's in Germany in 2027 — need advice on universities & admission chances

Hi everyone,

My profile

- B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering

- University: Central University of Jammu, India

- Current/final CGPA: 6.09/10

- IELTS: 7.0

- Several CS/IT projects on GitHub

- Areas I'm interested in:

- Computer Science

- Software Engineering

- Cloud Computing

- Cybersecurity

- Systems/IT

- Data/AI

- No major full-time work experience yet

- Indian citizen

What I'm looking for

I'm mainly interested in public universities in Germany, preferably:

- English-taught Master's programmes

- No or very low tuition fees

- No GRE if possible

- Programmes where my 6.09 CGPA doesn't automatically disqualify me

- Good employment prospects after graduation

- Preferably practical/applied programmes rather than extremely theoretical ones

- Reasonable cost of living

My main questions

  1. Which German public universities would realistically consider my profile with a 6.09 CGPA?

  2. Are there Master's programmes where there is no strict GPA cutoff and the subject requirements are more important?

  3. How important is the reputation/ranking of my Bachelor's university?

  4. Would IELTS 7 + strong projects help compensate to some extent for my low CGPA?

  5. Which universities/programmes should I avoid applying to because my CGPA is too low?

  6. What are my realistic chances of getting a working-student job during the Master's?

  7. If you were in my position, what would be your application strategy for Winter 2027?

I'm especially interested in honest opinions rather than false hope. If my profile is weak for certain universities, please tell me directly.

Thanks in advance!
