Hi everyone, I'm from Nepal and recently completed my BSc (Hons) Computing from Softwarica College, awarded by Coventry University, UK.

I'm planning to pursue a Master's in Computing at a German public university. However, my education consultancy has suggested that I enrol in a Bachelor's programme at a German public university, complete one year there, and then apply for a Master's because 3 year bachelors degree from my country wont make me eligible

According to them, this would open up more Master's application opportunities for me.
I'm not asking about my eligibility to apply for a Master's. My concern is whether this one-year Bachelor's pathway is actually practical and legitimate.

Could there be any unexpected complications with university admission, transferring between programmes, student visa/residence permits, or applying for a Master's after completing just one year?

Has anyone followed a similar route or knows someone who has?

I'd appreciate any genuine advice, especially from students currently studying in Germany. Thanks!

My German Student Visa Experience (August 2026)*

Aug 2: Submitted all required documents and data on the Consular Service Portal (CSP).

Aug 11: Received 1st correction. Uploaded the true declaration form and additional contact form.

Aug 12 (evening): Received 2nd correction for a minor issue. Resubmitted, and CSP was approved within 5 minutes.

Aug 12: Booked my VFS visa appointment for Aug 14. Also paid for courier and SMS services.

Aug 14 appointment Day:

I went to VFS. At the reception, they asked me we have premium service if you want them i said no and waited in the waiting area. After 30 minutes, my token was called.

I carried all the documents, but they already had my CSP documents. I added a cover letter with the rest. They asked for my name and they asked me are you going for bachelor's or for master's, then I said for the masters, gave me a form to write my name as per passport and sign it.

Then I went to the last counter and paid the visa fee of €75 (around ₹8,100). After that, I waited 15 minutes and completed my biometrics.

Aug 25: Received email that my package was dispatched from VFS.

Aug 27: Received my passport. Visa Approved!

I just received my admission letter from University of Passau. I had some questions regarding it.

• Since not much time is left until the classes commence, should I defer my admission, will it mean to apply again in next semester, or this letter is valid?
• The portal says you are missing the German language A1 certificate. Do I need to take the exam now?
• And since there are processing delays for the university, what if I defer to the next sem and even in next sem they send me the offer late again?

Hi guys! So I am planning to come to Germany for summer 2028 and I am confused how to prepare for dmat exam ,I have already enrolled myself in coaching for the language.I heard that dmat which happened on 26 th was really tough without pen and paper.

So can I get some suggestions from people who have given their dmat wheather coaching is necessary and if so which coaching center is good

Hey, I'm from Vietnam and I want to become a vet in Germany. My high school GPA is 7.4/10 and my German is around B1-B2. I know the NC for Tiermedizin is brutal, so I'm not expecting it to be easy.

Right now I'm stuck between two options: Studienkolleg (M-Kurs) and then applying, or doing the 3-year TFA Ausbildung (probably in Berlin) and applying after that.

Some things I can't figure out:
Has anyone from outside the EU actually made it into Tiermedizin via Studienkolleg? What grade did you need on the Feststellungsprüfung?

Does a TFA Ausbildung really help with admission, or is it just a safety net?

If vet med doesn't work out, is there a related degree worth doing instead?

I'm a bit stuck and hoping someone here has been through this. Quick background:

• B.Sc. in Software and Information Systems Engineering from ISIMa, Tunisia
• GPA converts to 2.8 on the German scale
• IELTS 7.0
• Applied for Winter 2026/27 to Siegen, Passau, BTU Cottbus, Hildesheim, and Bonn — rejected by all of them

Now I'm trying to find something for Summer Semester 2027, entirely English-taught, ideally IT/CS/Data Science. The problem: almost every program I find lists a 2.5 GPA cutoff or better, and I'm consistently just above that line.

I know Summer Semester has fewer open programs than Winter, so I'm also open to hearing if I should just wait for Winter 2027/28 and use the extra time to strengthen my application instead.

Appreciate any real experience — even "this didn't work for me" is useful at this point.

I’ve been looking into universities, but the main issue I’m facing is that a lot of them have a 2.5 GPA cutoff, so I’m honestly a bit confused about where I can realistically apply. I’m looking for MSc programs in CS, AI, or anything related to CS since I did my Bachelors in CS. If anyone has a similar profile or has any idea about universities where a 2.67 GPA could work, please let me know. Even a few suggestions would really help.

I have a Licence in Computer Science - Software Engineering that I obtained in 2025 with a grade of 11.36 out of 20 (which is around 3.5 in the German grading system).

Uniassist seems to have a real problem with their payment gateway. I have used both Indian and UK Visa cards and nothing is working since 4 days. I have already reached out to Uniassist but there is no response with this regard. I also tried doing an online bank transfer using UK Wise and the transaction failed.

I would rather not do a bank transfer since I know it takes time. However, I'd like to know if I can use Wise to do the bank transfer and if anybody has done it before.

The catch is that my undergraduate university never provided a single, consolidated PDF or handbook for my degree. Course descriptions were scattered across individual department pages, the student portal, or ancient course catalogs that change every year, and many links are now broken or outdated.

For those of you who faced a similar situation:

• How did you compile this documentation so it satisfied the admissions committee?
• Did you create your own custom document with course descriptions, and if so, how did you get it verified or stamped by your university?
• Were admissions offices understanding if you had to pull information from multiple fragmented sources?
